Marshall Meadows Manor House

Extremely disappointed in the Marshall Meadows Manor! Room was tired (stains on carpet), pillows/bed lumpy and needs an update. Top blanket was dirty and no top sheet. They left a dirty welcome letter in the room that clearly wasn’t for us. Wondered if bedding had even been changed. 1/2 jets work in hot tub and hubby cut his foot on one of the jets that did work. staff delivered bandaids and I made them aware of condition of room. Nothing was done and no one asked us at check out how our stay way. Super disappointed because we paid a premium fee and “splurged” on this room for our trip. Far nicer and cheaper hotels in the area,

Great one night stay, luxury pod with everything you would need, clean and comfortable, hot tub and outdoor terrace for a lovely summer night. Very good breakfast plenty choice on menu and even a sausage for your dog. The staff were very nice thoughout our stay. Definitely recommend.

Nice, clean, well appointed room with kingsize bed. All staff were brilliant, happy, very helpful and responsive and their good teamwork was evident. The Wi-Fi worked well and the bar was well-stocked. Lovely surroundings and the field of Clydesdale horses in the neighbouring farm was delightful.

Excellent place to stay. Fantastic restaurant, staff friendly, professional and attentive. Stayed in one of the pods with hot tub, although small, enjoyed the experience. Will definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel - lovely staff. Food excellent. Rather tricky to find and no lift which wasn’t clear on booking. Nonetheless had a lovely time and would happily return.

Absolutely amazing, what a gem of a find. Stayed in the pods and theyre so up to date and modern. Hot tub freshly filled for your stay under floor heating. The staff were so friendly and great. Couldn't recommend this place any higher.

Excellent say the luxury pod was amazing and so clean we slept really well and breakfast in the morning was top class but this whole experience was made so much better by the care and attention given by the excellent staff we will definitely be returning

Had a lovely, pleasant stay at Marshall Meadows Manor House. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bedroom was a good size and very clean albeit for a few cobwebs in the corners but a very small criticism. Amazing scenery around and so close to local amenities in Berwick. The breakfast that was included with the room was delicious and a good variety of food to choose from. Get a table next to a window if you can for lovely views of the coast with your breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again.

Property was nice overall but our room wasn't cleaned everyday and 2 of our six night stay our bed wasn't made. After 4 nights we had to ask for clean towels. This is why we have only rated 4 stars. The staff in the dining room were excellent. Always pleasant and helpful especially Karolina who went out of her way to get my wife a table downstairs as she has a heart condition and struggles with stairs.

Stayed in one of the cabin pods and was wonderful. Very clean and modern and ready to use jacuzzi when we arrived. Shower/toilet room was small but not a problem for one night stay.

Hotel needs refurbishment. Not well maintained and overall impression was it tired, grubby and mouldy. Had booked a Garden View room but was given a room which had little view, driveway outside and deliveries to kitchen parked outside often. There was a noisy air conditioning unit outside our window. Carpets and general furnishings grubby. Carpet in our room did not fit to skirting which was chipped and dirty. Room lighting was poor with not lights near mirrors. Our room 18 was next to fire door and was frequently noisy. Window seat was damp. Under bed had not been cleaned; evidenced by dust and previous occupants tablets. No control of room/bathroom temperature. Was in a good location. We were put off having evening meals onsite due to mixed experience at breakfast. Certainly not a 4 star hotel. We would not stay again.

Booked one of the pods. Not good. The mattress on the bed had zero support. Basically felt like I was lying on the actual bed base. The wet room is basically a tiny toilet with a hand shower. Fine if you are a tiny human. If like me you are over 5'9", you won't be able to stand comfortably. You effectively sit on the loo and wash with the shower in hand. Basin has a low shelf above the fawcet making it impossible to sip from tap or spit into basin. Not acceptable for the price. To be dairy, the food was excellent and the staff were super friendly.

We stayed one night on our way to Scotland. The hotel is easy to find on the outskirts of Berwick upon Tweed and is located in beautiful grounds. On arrival we were made to feel welcome and check-in was simple. Our room was lovely, very big with a large en suite and a view over the gardens on the "pods". As others have commented the rooms are not totally sound proof, but we weren't bothered by the noise. We slept well in a very comfortable bed. Dinner was excellent. The food was very tasty and the staff extremely friendly. There was a large menu and it was difficult to know what to choose. We ate in the same room for breakfast. There was everything we needed with a small buffet and a good choice of hot dishes. We were in a rush so didn't have anything fancy or too large but it was everything we needed before setting off. If we were in the area we would definitely stay here again.

Spacious and comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a great evening meal at the hotel and breakfast was excellent. Just stayed one night en route to Scotland. Looks like a lovely area for walking.

We stayed in one of the glamping pods on the property. It had some excellent features like air conditioning, heated floors, and a small fridge. It was well laid out and perfectly sized for a two night stay. We absolutely loved the outdoor patio area and really enjoyed using the hot tub. The shower/toilet room was very awkward to use. There was a shelf just above the sink that made it impossible to wash our hands or brush our teeth without getting water everywhere. There was a motorized black out shade on the window behind the bed which was made entirely redundant by the glass front door opposite the bed. There were blinds on the door but they did very little to block the light in the morning. A shade on the door would be a big improvement. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable. You could hardly call the mattress a mattress, it was very thin and hard with springs poking us every time we moved. The bed would be greatly improved by a mattress topper. The property is stunning and the gardens gorgeous and impeccably kept. We enjoyed a breakfast and two dinners in the main house and appreciated the service of the lovely and hospitable staff. They made sure we and our dog were very comfortable. The area is quiet and picturesque, right on the water with a beautiful and well maintained walking path along the cliff overlooking the water. We enjoyed a day exploring the nearby town and another morning wandering around Dunbar on our way home.

The bed was a little hard for me but was a good size. Wifi was reliable. Tv had freeview tv but you can also cast streaming services. The food was very good in the restaurant but that leads me to the one main thing which stopped it being an excellent experience, the service in the restaurants needs improvement. When asked what we wanted to drink, we were advised there wasn't a drinks menu. We could only get a menu for cocktails or wine. A drinks menu with clear pricing would be an improvement. We were given canapes with our drinks which was a nice touch. We selected our main courses & were taken into the restaurant once the food was ready. After we were given our bread & glasses of water we were not approached again for an hour. Noone came to check if the food was ok or ask if we wanted any more drinks. It felt like we had been forgotten about. We were finally asked if we would like desserts but we had another long wait before someone returned to take the order by this time we had been there almost 90 minutes so we decided not to bother. We had a similar experience at breakfast time. There were more staff but again we were left waiting with a menu, eventually we had to ask if we could order. It is a lovely hotel in a convenient location with good food but the service in the restaurant is letting it down.

We booked a last minute night away and from the moment we walked in to check in we were made to feel welcome. Our room was the perfect size with a sea view , very comfortable bed and amazing shower. We had dinner which was delicious and plentiful. We ended the evening having a few drinks in the wonderful bar . Breakfast was fabulous and a good variety of dishes apart from continental 😍 A Special mention to Kirsty, Leila, Alisha and Kerry who looked after us perfectly during our stay. They are a credit to the owners. We will be back!!

Brilliant staff and a wonderful breakfast!

Booked this night away because of the price at the time of booking, then with the bad weather hotel cancelled (understandable) on the morning of our stay, we were just about to set off for thus trip. But was only offered a change of date, when looking at different suitable dates the cost was doubled or more, which was unaffordable for me. We opted to pay at the property but payment was taken before days before! Asked for a refund and was told only date changes were allowed! This has put us off booking any future stays here we are out of pocket! We spoke to hotel direct and was told to go Via expedia as this is where we booked, expedia tried for a full refund but hotel declined! This stay was so looked forward too, as that morning we had just had to put our loved cat of 11.5 yrs to sleep, we were so looking forward to a blissful night away but had nothing but stress since!

The staff, very polite and helpful. Serice in the dinning area for breakfast and evening meal excellent. Checking in and out very easy. Overall we had a lovely relaxing few days at the hotel and would recommend to anyone.

We had a very friendly welcome, and shown to our room, found the room clean and spacious,went for evening meal in the restaurant,staff very attentive,food was delicious and well presented. Went for breakfast and again delicious,staff always had a smile. Overall I would recommend a stay here . Went for cliff walk to the border, beautiful views easy access to motor way to visit other places.

Room was very nice. Beautiful manor, quiet countryside surroundings. Dining and lounge area first class. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Only regret we had was only booking for one night! If we return to the area, we’ll be staying again!

Our stay was very nice and relaxing. We were staying with one of the pods with our dog and everything inside the pod was just perfect for us! We had a mix weather but in all three days stay we have used the hot tub and it was great. Breakfast each morning at the hotel was very nice and all staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. TV signal was week and every night we have had people logging into our TV, which was funny at the beginning because we would just disconnect them, but later on it became a littler annoying. A couple of points that I think would make the stay even more amazing: - not everyone knows how to open hot tube and/or how to use it, i.e. how to connect to speakers, so an instruction would be useful - a couple of hooks next to the hot tub to hung the bathrobe so I can put it on after existing the hot tub - a couple of glass holders to enjoy a glass of bubbly instead of needing to hold it in the hot tub at all times - i know this is a luxury experience but we found the restaurant menu a bit limited and expensive so for that reason we haven't tried it. Bar nibbles like soups and sandwiches would give at least another option of dinning opportunity.
