The Cranleigh Boutique

We stayed in a luxury room which had a spa bath, very comfy bed, the most amazing dressing gowns and toiletries, which you can buy. The decor is gorgeous, amazing breakfast, lovely staff and less than 5 mins to the town and 5 min walk to the lake.

This is our fifth visit here so, obviously, we like it. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is good, the rooms warm and beds comfortable. Parking tends to be the cause of anxiety so, usually, once we have secured an onsite parking space, we don’t use the car and rely on public transport to get around. We were in room 13 this year and found storage space for clothing to be minimal. Also, I was unwell on this visit (nothing to do with the hotel) so we spent more time in the room than usual. We would have appreciated some seating in the room because of this.

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, check in was easy and you can arrive at anytime. If you park in the carpark opposit the accommodation between 2000 and 0800 you can get early bird parking for £1.50 for a full day, otherwise it is around that cost price per hour.

Very friendly staff, comfortable, clean room and very convenience place within walking distance to restaurants and the lake. However, there are two things that need to improve 1) should have allocated parking for each room 2) we stayed in room #5 which is above the breakfast area the smell of burning toasts and burning smoke got into the room in the morning, should have better extractor fan in the kitchen area.

I had a very comfortable stay. The room was a generous size with an excellent bed, and I appreciated the in-room touches—tea and coffee, a fridge, and a smart TV with iPlayer and Netflix. Parking spaces at the front were difficult to get, but the overflow car park at the neighbouring hotel is just a short walk away and worked well for me. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience.

Nicely decorated rooms. Spa/jacuzzi bath was very good. Good choice for Breakfast. With quality food every morning. Reception staff were very nice and helpful.

Room looked nice. Cobwebs all over light shade above the bed. Room was so hot we had all the windows open and 2 fans on and it was still too hot to sleep. There was no cold tap in the room so had to brush our teeth with hot water

I was looking for a really nice hotel to have a child-free weekend away with my wife for our anniversary. The Cranleigh hit the mark perfectly, it was spotlessly clean in a fantastic location to explore Lake Windermere - the pubs/restaurants of Bowness are about a 2 minute walk from the hotel and the quayside (where you can get boats to Ambleside and Lakeside) is about 5 mins away. The hotel also has parking out front and an overflow car park about a minutes walk away down the road. The breakfast menu wasn't vast but the food was of very good quality, and at all times I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend the Cranleigh if you're looking for a couples break away in the Lake District.

There was no air conditioning in our room and this meant the room was uncomfortably hot. We were given an extra fan but the fans are too noisy so this meant we had a poor nights sleep. Although the room was very nice, for £245 i expected there would have been air conditioning so we would have got a good nights sleep.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, the rooms are stunning, comfy beds, extremely clean too! The toiletries in the room were so nice and such a lovely touch, we were even given some brownie when leaving the try! Breakfast was beautiful, we would defo stay again :)

Amazing stay.. managed to get a room upgrade to a suite. It was definitely worth the extra money. Brilliant location. Very clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and 10/10 service. Breakfast was amazing! Cooked to perfection!

The bedroom suites were of a very high quality, elegant, very clean and comfortable. Staff on reception and at breakfast were smart and helpful. Cranleigh Boutique is very close to the centre of Bowness where there are plenty of good restaurants at night. Also close to the lakefront for a nice morning walk after the excellent breakfast.

Very expensive for the quality of the hotel. Rooms are smaller than they look and walls are paper thin. Breakfast was very poor. Over cooked eggs on 2 out of 3 days. The only real positive I can provide is location.

Had two nights at the Cranleigh last weekend. Staff were amazing, especially at breakfast. Room was comfortable with a very nice bathroom. Many led lights in the bedroom/wardrobe which had a mind of their own, randomly turning on in the middle of the night. Breakfast was very nice with so much choice and of good quality. Only downside was the weather but it is the Lakes and we didn’t have to walk very far to the pub or restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Hotel is nice however we’ve stayed in far nicer hotels for the price , it’s way overpriced for a very basic room, you can here the the people in the room next door very clear and the room above (little to no soundproofing) , tv in the bathroom if your into that sort of thing , tried it but you couldn’t even view a picture as so faint , wouldn’t go back

It was our first time staying here & we will definitely be booking again. From the moment you step in the door the staff were so friendly & helpful. The room was exquisite & the food was equally as good. Excellent. 5 stars.

Really good location, but located on a hill if anyone struggles with up hill walks, but an easy walk for those that don't. Short distance to all attractions with plenty of places to eat from close by. The Cranleigh is very welcoming and well ran, breakfast choice is good and done a great standard. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

We booked the standard room for 2 nights. Everything was fine and the cooked breakfast one of the nicest we have had. It is a 5 min walk to the marina with lots of bars and restaurants.

The staff were extremely helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and it was particularly nice to have it delivered to the suite. The only issue was the shower over the bath was a bit challenging. However our original suite had a walk in shower but the two flights of stairs were to challenging for my husband who walks with a crutch. If I had booked directly with the hotel I could have discussed our requirements with them. However the staff did everything they could to help.
