Bestway Inn - Madison

Upon entering the room I was hit with the smell of cigarette smoke. The shower rod did not seem to be fitted properly to the shower, leaving a hole in the drywall where the rod did not fit.when leaving to get something from the car, the door handle came off in my hand. I had to turn the knob, then pull open the door using the deadbolt. One of my kids found a vape left behind in the dresser. Staff was quite rude at first, and we initially were told that we would not be able to have our door fixed. I was told that if I chose to leave because I felt unsafe, I would not be refunded my money. The manager also accused me of smoking in the room when I had been out with family for the whole evening. The only positive was that we did not find any bedbugs. Upon looking at other reviews, multiple other people mentioned a similar problem with the door handle coming off.

The room was mostly clean. TV was not plugged in and the cord was covered in dust. There was a spot that was missed cleaning the room previously. The bathroom seem to have been patched together as things broke. It’s great for laying your head down while traveling.

The smokefree room smelled of smoke. The hotel does not have extra blankets or pillows for guests. The room itself is rundown and in poor shape.
