For NYC - very enjoyable sized room, great bathroom size! Bed & bedding extremely comfortable - was perfect for business travel. Starbucks next door makes up for lack of cafe / bar on property. Will absolutely stay here next time!

hotel itself is good; room is old but with acceptable cleaness. I am not happy with the "facility"- no matter inside room or within hotel. there is no kettle and fridge is not working.... the hotel even charged "facility fee" upon check-in (around $40 per night) . dont have choice, even we dont need mini gym, computer corner, and $10 laundry coupon at all.

Please be aware that even though Hotels.com shows that there IS a daily service charge, it shows that it’s included in what you pay Hotels.com BUT, 70 Park Avenue charged us an additional “service fee” of $86 for 3 nights for “the weight room and amenities”. We never used the weight room and what amenities??? The boxed water that my wife and I each got one of? Just be aware that you’ll be charged extra from what you’re told and there’s nothing you can do to get out of it.

Great location,staff was excellent,but hotel need improvements.For example room key system does not work,you have to reprogram keys two or three times every day.Also no dining facilities,nor even vending machines to buy food.

Good solid hotel, in a central location. Room sizes are better than average, but hotel & room amenities could be better (e.g., there is no hotel bar or restaurant -- but you pay a $35 / day 'amenity fee' ... and how about a small pad of paper and a pen in each room?). Be aware, there are certain floors (mine) which are undergoing renovation -- so hallways are cramped and busy with workmen and equipment.

The hotel was nice inside the lobby. Staff was pleasant. The hallway outside our room had weird red rugs with birds on them. The room was nice though, art deco stylish decor, great soaking tub with jets, towels were rough, bathrobes were stiff, tv was difficult to figure out. There is no room service, no lounge. Bed was comfortable and sheets were very nice. View was not good even though I paid for a view, it was not anything great. The location was nice away from Times SQ. A 15 minute walk to get to the action.

The property was great, very clean and kept up well and one block from Grand Central, three blocks from Bryant Park and all the major subway lines. My only slight complaint Is that there is no lobby bar or even wine table in the hotel. We travel to New York, probably four times a year to visit family Theater and attend theater and other events. I love to stop at the bar for a nightcap on the way up or since the rooms are usually small wait for my wife there while she finishes getting ready. There are options across the street and down the street for that, but it’s way more convenient to have it in the hotel, especially when the weather gets colder. it’s not really a complaint. Just an inconvenience to how I like to Travel. If that is not a concern for you I highly recommend staying here.

Staff was extremely friendly! Loved the bottle fill water fountain next to the fitness center. Great not to have to buy or use faucet water. My room was handicap accessible and while that’s great for someone in a wheel chair or needing extra time, I did not like that the door would not close until after I walked 6 feet into the room to push the button. NO coffee in the room or lobby! YIKES! That was a big disappointment. I don’t think I have ever been in a hotel that didn’t offer coffee in the morning. I needed a hotel close to Grand Central for a morning train. And this was a great location for that. Just glad I left myself extra time to walk a few blocks for a $3 cup of deli coffee.

Pros: staff was very nice, the property is in a safe location and close to everything! Cons: -it was very noisy!! We could hear everything the people in the rooms upstairs and next to us were doing; even just from the folks upstairs walking, our whole room would shake. -The property is very dated, and our room had noticeable holes and dents in the wall. -NOT the cleanest. It was just myself and my son staying for a few days, and we found huge clumps of dark hair (we’re both blondies) in our beds, behind the pillows, and all over the bathroom sink. It wasn’t dirty as far as bed bugs and roaches go, but hair grosses me out and I never really got over it so we slept on our own pillows and stayed on top of the blankets.

The location was great, felt safe and area outside was clean. Room is very small and outdated. Dark hallways and small elevator. Floors creaked as we walked in room. Bed seemed to be a full size instead of a queen as reserved but hotel insisted it was a queen. Our bathroom had a bit of mildew smell but friend next door room was fine. Staff was great and they held our luggage before check in and after check out. Hotel was acceptable comparing to other options but not luxurious for what I paid. Glad I booked through Expedia because I paid a little more for 2 nights than what hotel directly was charging for one night. It’s not that I would never stay again, but I would check other options.

Average room, did not get VIP benefits. Carpet in the hotels smells bad.

To say I was disappointed with this hotel is an understatement. Very small lobby with the reception desk barely large enough for 2 people behind it. The corridors on my floor (so I assume every floor) were very narrow and basically looked like a 3 star hotel at best. As for the room itself, I noticed a thin layer of dust on each drawer handle and also on the underside of the glasses next to the wine cooler. I was also unable to turn up the heat on my air condtioning/heater unit. I ended up turning the fan off. There is no mini bar as advertised, just a fridge. I didn't report any of these at the time as they were not hugely important to me as I wasn't in the room much, however, this is not 4 star service. There was an issue with the plug in the sink as it would only come back up with some serious persuasion, as confirmed one day when I returned to find housekeeping had pulled it right up as it was barely out of the plughole previously. Thankfully I never needed to insert the plug, but others will. Another thing was that I was advised by reception that the coffee condiments would only be replaced on request. This is a 4 star hotel - these should be replaced as standard. Also, I accidently left a small bag with some gifts in the lobby. I have emailed the hotel twice since arriving home 3 days ago with no reply. Absolute disgrace. On the plus side, the room was spacious & the bed comfy. The free bottle of wine was a nice gesture as well. The hotel is also in a nice area.

Bathtub didn't drain, but my request to fix was handled. The cleaning products used have a very bad smell. As if old mops are used. The smell was quite unfortunate and unpleasant.

Bathroom was dirty. Spoke to person at desk in the morning and showed a photo. She immediately called housekeeping. But when I came back in the late afternoon the problem area hadn't been cleaned. So, called again. (This time it was taken care of). Door was difficult to lock - the first night I hadn't locked it when I thought I had. No restaurant on site, which I knew going in; but there wasn't even a coffee maker in the room. Decor is a matter of taste - the star-bursts on the wall somewhat resemble spiders to some (I showed photos to friends), hence creepy; but some might like it. Folks at the desk were nice and helpful, but not knowledgeable - I asked how long a cab ride to the Whitney Museum would be and they asked me where it is. Despite all of this, 2 great plusses: very quiet for light sleeper! And air conditioner worked well - relatively quiet and fan didn't keep going on and off, whcih is typical.

It was cnetrally located for both theatre and midtown excursions. The room was cozy and clean and i had a corner room which was very quiet. I would stay here again. The staff were all friendly.

Very spacious room for being in the heart of NYC. Very convenient to the train and reasonably priced. Clean Bathroom door was broken and had no hot water for a night.

Melanie at check in was super welcoming! I love my room with Park Ave views and bottle of wine! Room is very large (for NYC) with great views and super clean!

Nice, hotel. Staff was very friendly. I had to ask a couple of times for my vip amenity (bottle of wine), but other than that my stay was pleasant. The only “issue” i had, which is out of their control and common in most NY buildings is I could hear through the walls easily. So conversations in the hallway and my neighbors were loud.

Walkable to so many places. Got our steps in. So close to grand central, too. Bathroom is very small but typical new york. The employees are amazing and many have been there for decades which tells you the family they have with eachother. Always kind to guests. I'll be back.

the receptionists and general hotel management were INSUFFERABLE, INCONSIDERATE, and incredibly dense. but the doormen, housekeeping staff, bellboys, etc. were extremely helpful, friendly, and overall very positive.

Started out rough as they could not get a key to my room for several hours. Coffee machine is available if you ask for it. Needed to be cleaned as coffee tasted terrible. Great location. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff very nice and helpful. Lobby couches need to be cleaned. Overall good stay for the weekend.

It’s a solid & safe hotel. Staff are friendly, especially the doormen. I will say they charged us for a deposit when reserving the hotel, yet at the hotel we got charged the full amount. When we went to check our bank statements, no security deposit had been taken out. A little odd, but overall solid choice.

The location is unbeatable for easy access across the city, but the service was top notch. We had awful neighbors check in, and the front desk didn't hesitate to move us. They were responsive, accommodating, and kind with any request. A house cleaner (I didn't catch her name) kindly let me know it was hotter than expected on my way out, so I was able to change first. Raphael, the night doorman, was so incredibly generous with his time and an invaluable resource for things in the neighborhood. We'll be back in our next trip for sure!

Overall great experience. Hotel emailed me prior to my arrival. First class service!

My stay ended before it even began. During the check-in process, the hotel ran my card for incidentals and the deposit amount was successfully authorized from my account and also reflected on my banking app ledger. The transaction did not populate to hotel’s system and the manager said he didn’t care about what I saw and the only thing he cared about was me providing a different card. The conversation became heated and as I walked away stating that it seemed to me that laziness that was the issue more than anything else, his response was, “You can get the f*ck out of my hotel you f*cking fa*got.” I don’t think I need to say much else.

Excellent location! You can see Grand Central Station from the hotel. It’s a quick walk to have access to the subway to go wherever you like in the city. It is also within walking distant to Time Square and other sights. It was quiet no problems sleeping.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and a reasonable size for a NYC hotel. The location was much more quiet and peaceful than locations closer to Time Square, but still easily walkable to Broadway and other midtown attractions. Being just a couple blocks from Grand Central also meant we could easily take the subway to anywhere further out. The staff was very friendly at helpful all throughout our stay.

You just cannot beat the location. Close to Grand Central and in an exceptionally safe and clean part of Manhattan (personally I love the East Side). The service, particularly housekeeping, was excellent coming to tidy up everyday. Would book again in an instant.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights here in early November when we flew in for a concert. The hotel is a short drive from Laguardia airport which was a nice start. The hotel is in a great location which enabled us to walk everywhere we wanted to. Everything we did was within a half hour walk. The staff was also helpful when needed. This was our first trip to NYC and if we do go back we would definitely consider staying here again.

Hotellet var stort sett bra, men veldig lyd mellom rommene. Bodde på rom 615 med en connecting dør. Hørte godt når folk snakker eller lukket døra. Dårlig isolert, service og renholder var veldig bra. De har ikke frokost på hotellet, men det er helt ok. Mange spisesteder rundt hotellet.

The room is great staff were great - asked for a kettle for our room they brought it and cups and tea right away. No other amenities but we had Starbucks and pret manager on the same block as well as resturants in walking distance

Overall a great property and super convenient due to being located a few blocks from Grand Central Station. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Parking is located less than half a block from the hotel. The hotel is clean and well decorated, but the bathrooms are not very spacious.
