Quiet and comfortable rooms, the two person lift was a bit limiting. Spacious parkland with lots of hanging baskets (the vertical "Petunium" was spectacular) and a novel planting scheme in the borders. The food was well cooked and mostly spicy choices and the service was friendly & good in the Stable block.

Lovely reception staff. The building itself is lovely but credit to the gardening staff the grounds were beautifully kept. Bedroom was great and had all we needed. Food in the stables was excellent too. Will definitely be back.

Lovely property kept to a very high standard. The staff were superbly helpful and kind. The most picturesque gardens and courtyard. We stayed in the Charron apartment on the top floor. Very spacious and fitted with a very modern kitchen.

Visited Beamish Open Air Museum and it is right on the doorstep, so very convenient. Calm secluded gardens, with a tranquil stream running through them, which the gardeners are working to improve. Large, former Country House, with good facilities, stables well converted into Dining facilities, with a very pleasant outside seating area in the Stables Courtyard.

Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Good parking with EV charging. Bedroom was a really good size with lovely old furniture with plenty of drawer and hanging space - but perhaps it looked as though it could do with more furniture to fill some of the spaces. The only downside was having to go outside to get to the restaurant - probably wouldn't have even thought about it in hot weather but it wasn't ideal in the wind and rain. We stayed while the Christmas Fayre was on which was a bonus.

An over night stay allowing us to have 2 days at Beamish museum nearby and have a taste of luxury in the apartment. Due to dietary needs we have difficulty finding places for us all to eat. This led us to look for apartments. The Charron apartment looked fab on the internet and was even more of a suprise when we checked in. Check in was friendly and quick, the grounds and hotel were absolutely fabulous. A bit of a walk up a few staircases (lift was being repaired), we were offered help with baggage, but the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) managed with no issues. The apartment is separate floor you enter into a massive kitchen diner area with working oven, hob and microwave. Then another door takes you to a hallway and bathroom. Further around the lounge (massive space 2 sofas and a chair plus TV loads of channels and all the apps. Then turn a corner and it's so massive both bedrooms are beautiful with one being an ensuite. We wish we had booked another night. Although it maybe costly the fact we could cook for ourselves have separate rooms for us and the kids makes it worth the price.

Excellent room but noisy. The first night was fine but there were weddings on the Saturday and Sunday. The room was directly above reception and the noise from about midnight to about 1:30 was awful. There are no facilities in the hotel apart from the bar and restaurant. At almost £200 a night I felt a bit disappointed about our stay.

We stayed in the chatton appartment which was amazing however it was very difficult to get to ( very small lift then stairs) and we were offered no help on arrival and when leaving a member of staff saw us struggling and then helped us we were a party of two women (1elderly ) and two small children

We found the Beamish Hall to be a very quaint and charming hotel. The location is extremely quiet and peaceful, although perhaps a little hard to find. There is a very ample amount of parking. The rooms and property in general appeared to be well kept and maintained. The Stables bar and restaurant were a pleasure to drink and dine within and the staff friendly and welcoming. Yes, I would recommend this hotel and we shall be staying there again.

Our third time staying at this beautiful old hotel, the last time was six years ago. So pleased to be able to say that we were welcomed as warmly as we had been before. The hotel is very well kept, the staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The rooms are pristine and you can just tell that everyone working there values their guests. The Stables restaurant never fails to impress with its quality ingredients expertly cooked to provide mouth-watering delights. I missed the Beamish beers but the ones on sale were very good. This is the standard all hotels should aspire to.

There’s wasn’t a wardrobe in our room. No shower gel or fridge either. We had to request extra toiletries. The TV connection to the internet was poor. The reception was unmanned when I went to request putting my 4 month olds baby food in the fridge. I waited 10 minutes before eventually giving up and allowing the food to go off. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The lift only fitted 2 people and was very noisy and at times the doors wouldn’t opened and seemed jammed. This was very nervy for someone who suffers from claustrophobia. We booked for the firework extravaganza which was cancelled just days before our stay and subsequently we were left with nothing to do. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. We expected the bedroom to be cleaned on our second day of stay but this didn’t happen.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. I have never stayed somewhere where the staff were without exception friendly, helpful, and clearly so proud of their hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we wondered if it has just been refurbished? The gardens and flower arrangements were exceptional, and even the gardeners had time to tell us what they are growing, as well as how the amazing displays are achieved. Worth visiting just for this aspect. Food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Even the board game we used was brand new! Room was smallish but really comfortable, clean and fresh with a lovely bathroom. Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. Thank you.

Beautiful hotel in a nice location. The rooms were nicely decorated however the walls were extremely thin and I could hear a couple next door being intimate due to how thin the walls are. The restaurant was also nice.

Convenient location for our visit to the Beamish museum, the staff are very friendly, the stables restaurant is a beautiful restoration and the food and breakfast excellent, the room was a little smaller than we are used to but ok, there was endless hot water for bathing :-) we would stay here when visiting Beamish again.

Beautiful historical property in a fantastic setting - immaculate grounds surrounded by countryside. Right next to Beamish Museum -the best tourist attraction in the North East. We stayed in a Premier Room - well worth the extra expense ( just missing a mini fridge in the room). Already looking for a date to return.

Fabulous traditional building in beautiful grounds. We’ve stayed here 4 times this year- it’s our favourite when travelling to visit family. Unfortunately this time we were v disappointed with the wifi ( room 103)- just kept dropping out all the time ( couldn’t use data due to poor reception in the area). It has probably put us off booking this lovely hotel next time. Thumbs up for maintenance man who was v friendly and helpful.

Staff were great, especially Alex on reception. Breakfast was nice but you definitely need a second coffee machine to prevent people having to wait. Decor is lovely and I covet your bedroom furiture!

The reception was unmanned when I went to request putting my 4 month olds baby food in the fridge. I waited 10 minutes before eventually giving up and allowing the food to go off. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The lift only fitted 2 people and was very noisy and at times the doors wouldn’t opened and seemed jammed. This was very nervy for someone who suffers from claustrophobia. We booked for the firework extravaganza which was cancelled just days before our stay and subsequently we were left with nothing to do. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. We expected the bedroom to be cleaned on our second day of stay but this didn’t happen.

Character hotel in beautiful grounds. Premier rooms are huge and fabulous. Room service - good food but would have liked some salt, vinegar and sauce with my fish and chips. The hotel was set in beautiful grounds As it was Christmas time the gadren were all lit up., also a Christmas fair was on that residents had free access to. Great to pick up Christmas gifts. Hotel was with walking distance of Beamish living museum. Service in the restaurant was very slow especially in bar area where some staff did appear to be standing round talking. However when paying the bill they did apologise for any delays ansd explained they had been exceptionally busy all day and had served over 360 meals that day. Would definitely visit again

Visited Beamish Open Air Museum and it is right on the doorstep, so very convenient. Calm secluded gardens, with a tranquil stream running through them, which the gardeners are working to improve. Large, former Country House, with good facilities, stables well converted into Dining facilities, with a very pleasant outside seating area in the Stables Courtyard.

Work visit to Gateshead. Really nice hotel in great surroundings. The only slight downside is the mobile coverage is poor, obviously not the hotels fault. However the WiFi was a bit patchy in places.

Beautiful historical property in a fantastic setting - immaculate grounds surrounded by countryside. Right next to Beamish Museum -the best tourist attraction in the North East. We stayed in a Premier Room - well worth the extra expense ( just missing a mini fridge in the room). Already looking for a date to return.

Beautiful country house converted to hotel set in beautiful flat ground. There is nothing walkable as in dining options so eat at the hotel is the way to go. We did and the food although expensive was good quality and very tasty. If you’re planning a trip the The Beamish living museum this is the place to stay.

We found the Beamish Hall to be a very quaint and charming hotel. The location is extremely quiet and peaceful, although perhaps a little hard to find. There is a very ample amount of parking. The rooms and property in general appeared to be well kept and maintained. The Stables bar and restaurant were a pleasure to drink and dine within and the staff friendly and welcoming. Yes, I would recommend this hotel and we shall be staying there again.

Lovely reception staff. The building itself is lovely but credit to the gardening staff the grounds were beautifully kept. Bedroom was great and had all we needed. Food in the stables was excellent too. Will definitely be back.

Both days cooked breakfast was cold,it seems odd that you order your cooked breakfast,but it arrived in a few minutes,so it looks like the cooked ingredients are kept warm in the kitchen.Whats the point of ordering when it already precooked and standing under heat,we were given a refund for breakfast but it's not what we want, we rather have a hot fresh cooked breakfast.We had evening meals which were really nice,if you can have hot foood on the evening why not on the morning,the rest of the stay was lovely,but breakfast really spoiled it.

Convenient location for our visit to the Beamish museum, the staff are very friendly, the stables restaurant is a beautiful restoration and the food and breakfast excellent, the room was a little smaller than we are used to but ok, there was endless hot water for bathing :-) we would stay here when visiting Beamish again.
