Our toilet leaked water, and we told the front desk staff, but she told the maintenance guy standing right next to her and he just stared at me. They didn't really acknowledge our concern about toilet water leaking all over our bathroom floor. The fabric softener dispenser ate my dollar when i tried getting some for our swimsuits. The pool was very nice; this was probably our favorite part of the stay. Art was awesome serving breakfast. He always had helpful suggestions about how to do things, and he was very nice. Breakfast was good, both in variety and taste. Our room was nice overall. The live music, tiki bar, docks, and volleyball pits were all a nice bonus.

The hotel was nicely situated by the water. On one side was the trail park homes and on the other side was open grounds. The interior of the hotel is outdated. However, the outdoor was a pleasant surpise. Tiki bar with big space. Sand beach, outdoor seating, and good water views.

Great location right on the river. Sand beach volleyball courts and great tiki bar on site. Beds were comfy and room was quiet. Pool area and hot tub were a little small. If you have young kids they would like the little water park but not for adults. Would stay here again

First, despite what your told, the pool has no rules, over occupancy without wrist bands, snacks, pizza, pop, parties in the pool space and well beyond 10pm The bar outside did not have enough staff, we couldn’t even get a menu, had to go elsewhere and incredibly loud, use text if you want a conversation with the person next to you. Breakfast, no fruit, pancakes and those egg sandwiches you get at the gas station - cook yourself-2 microwaves. worst hotel breakfast ever Kids -tweens were up and about the common areas talking, laughing, and running around until 4am Ck in/out was easy, rooms were clean

Because of the sun roof over the pool, it was VERY HOT in the halls and everywhere outside your room, except the reception area. There were double doors between the reception area and pool area, so that was comfortably air conditioned. The room's air conditioner was great, so it was fine as soon as you got in the room. There's a beautiful outside area with a large tiki bar and live music, and connecting restaurant. If you want to enjoy some nightlife on the lake and not have to drive, it's perfect for that and stayed very busy Thursday-Sunday. If you're in a room on that side of the hotel, you'll hear the band in your room until 10 p.m. Things were quiet after that. If you don't want to hear that, ask to be in a room on the other side. You can always hear the kids in the pool, too, because of how the hotel is set up. It didn't bother us. We loved it and would absolutely stay again!

Body fluids all over (blood/vomit). Advised staff and nothing was done. Toilet had poop stains still. Staff entered room without consent. They were out of clean towels/washcloths. Would not empty trash cans (asked me to do it). Tv didn’t work properly and staff didn’t care to help. They gave an unauthorized person a key to my room without asking for id/anything. The list goes on and On. Overall one of the worst stays I have had anywhere.

The rooms were so outdated at least by 40 years. I’ve had continental breakfast that were 10 times better than a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich carpeting should’ve been replaced 40 years ago. Bath towels were dingy were not white anymore.

The room was ok, bigger, but it was kind of musty smelling and damp, and the floors were not super clean. Half the lamps were unplugged under the bed, which I had to figure out to get the lights on, and moving the bed was what made me feel the floors were not that clean. Lots of leftover stuff from other occupants under behind the bed.

Our room was not clean. The floor had debris and the shower and shower curtain were filthy. The beds were uncomfortable and the towels were paper thin. Requested the room to be cleaned, and only received towels dropped off. The Tiki bar was the nicest area of the hotel.

It was clear that the staff here works very hard to keep this facility clean. I'm sure this hotel was once a fantastic destination spot on the river. But now it is a run down, out dated crappy hotel. The pool looked green to me! The rooms and over all facilities were old, worn out and barely maintained in my opinion. The worse part was the towels and linens. The linens (bed spreads) were worn out and in poor condition. The towels were GROSS! everyone of the towels I looked at was stained, some were pretty bad. I will never stay here again. AmericInn by Wyndham should be ashamed of themselves for letting this once premium property decline into a terrible hotel.

We checked in for two nights but only ended up staying one. The air conditioning unit in our room had significant mold covering the vents, the tub faucet was leaking (clearly for a long time due to the strong stain around the drain), and we encountered noise issues with our neighboring room. Would recommend looking else where when staying in La Crosse.

The bed was so hard my hips were sore. There was a used fork in one of the drawers used for clothing and uneaten food parts in it. There was hair (not ours) all over the bathroom.

For the price the room was acceptable. Clean, updated. But the physical building is super ugly on approach. They get points for trying (fresh paint and carpet) but it really is past its life and should be torn down. The view from our room was of the run-down trailer park next door. And there was a pervasive musty, humid smell from the pool/courtyard. Depressing overall. We stayed at a Days Inn in Winona the next night, and while also very basic, it was clean, perky and totally OK for a budget room.

You can hear everything through the walls. If the person in the room next to you is snoring, it’s like they are in your bed snoring. The bathtub had scum in it and all the furniture had stains on them. The mattress on the king bed was also extremely uncomfortable.

This is an old facility and our experience was poor. 1 person at front desk meant long 25 minute wait to check in. The line was out the door. The room was musty damp and old. A call to front desk to ask for WI FI password was met with "it's a national log in and a 50 percent chance you'll get WI FI. We were unable over 2 days to connect. We walked out to the Bar (Moxie's) outside Tiki Bar and sat at the front bar. 6 servers working yet we were ignored for 20 minutes. We walked away and drove downtown. We regret making this our choice for LaCrosse and would very much pass on staying here again.

The window in our room looked out to another part of the hotel with windows facing each other. The building looked like it was five feet away. Obviously couldn’t keep the curtain open due to lack of privacy. No sheer window covering just the main one. No ice machine on the 2nd floor. Had asked for a room preferably on the first floor due to no elevator but we were assigned on the second floor with nothing to look at but another building. There web site makes it look so inviting…NOT

The main issue of our stay was that a room smelled like a cigarette was smoked in the bedroom. At first, they didn’t want to switch us rooms because they where “booked”. I ended up getting refund and going to holiday inn. This place is a joke.

I would stay here again but the front desk lady (her name was Karen, literally) was such a grouch. We arrived in early and she acted like I was the worst thing that ever happened to her. As far as the hotel: I love the layout of the “pool view” rooms. We were here for a team even so we were all really close to each other and the pool was the main attraction. Picture the pool view rooms hotel part as a donut, the pool is the “donut hole” there is a restroom with a shower near the pool area however you need your keycard to enter it which became obnoxious with wet 3 kids. The pool itself was fun, included towels, but I do wish the pool would have the chemicals balanced better. As a pool owner I was hesitant because the water was very cloudy and a green/teal color rather that clear/blue. IMO the soda vending machine is totally overpriced. I mean come on this isn’t Disney. Overall I’m excited for our return trip next year, don’t be off out by the hotels exteriors it looks shabby but really it is not a bad stay. As far as sleep the mattress and the really firm ones where you can feel every spring.

I reserved two rooms on Expedia - 6 months ago. When I called to see about checking in they only had 1 room for us and the hotel was sold out. We had 5 people so had to ask for a roll out bed, that i was charged for after there screw up

The check in staff, despite it being quiet, were quite curt and unfriendly. I had to ask for information that typically would be provided (such as should I park next to what door, direction to our room , etc). Had me doubting my choice of stay right away. Rooms were clean, the beds very firm. I do wish they had the standard waffle makers as the pancake maker was always on the Fritz. The lights on the private beach made for a relaxing spot in the evenings. Overall I would stay again though the reception kind of spoiled the overall stay.

Im really disappointed. We had a wedding to go to and we werent able to shower this morning. Because their maintenance people shut down their water at 8am without any information given to us as guests.

Both Ice machines broken. It was a pain to get ice. We asked for an extra pillow and they had none. They had to get one from a vacant room. The breakfast was an uncooked breakfast sandwich, which you have to cook and it says limit one per person. I would not book here again.

The free breakfast could use an upgrade. They provided some crappy breakfast sandwiches in a paper wrapper, bread, cereal and yougurt. I was expecting the sausage, bacon, egss & waffle options like the discount hotel chains provide. Also, both ice machines in the joint not working. Had to go to the bar for ice. Very annoying.

Let’s start with the good: we were able to get an early check in, it was pretty clean and it was conveniently located to stores and food. The bad: The bed was so uncomfortable I hardly slept, they apparently were working on something water related and shut the water off at 8am-however nothing was said to us and so my husband did not get a shower, the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired-absolute bare minimum provided. We have family in the LaCrosse/West Salem area and we will not likely be back to that hotel.

We usually love staying at this hotel, but we were very disappointed this trip. We stayed because we love the music and bar Moxies, but it was a big disappointment. No music, no spotted cow, and the bartender closed early, stating she needed to get home to get dog. There were 17 others in the bar and last call was at 10:30. I’m not one to usually leave negative reviews, but the shower curtain had what appeared to be blood all over it, with holes as well. The breakfast has sandwiches you heat in the microwave and cereal. We didn’t eat it our entire stay. It was our anniversary weekend and I definitely wish we would of just stayed downtown. $450 for two nights was very high. Not sure if we will return.
