In a great location in the old town a short walkable distance to Diocletian's Palace.and ferry terminals. Many dining options nearby and grocery stores if you want to eat in. However, the hotplate in the top floor unit we stayed in did not work and there was no microwave oven thus limiting our choices. If not for this, I would have given a 4 star overall rating.

Place is very clean, excellent communication with owner/manager prior to arrival and is right in the Old Town making every main attraction within a 5 minute walk. No lift, only stairs - just mentioning this for those that may struggle with this but otherwise solid option in Split Old Town.

Bra läge nära gamla stan och strandpromenad. Hade rum längst upp, trappor upp (50 steg). Fin terass utanför. Bra sängar och rent förutom lite hår i badrummet. Stayed 3 nights in Split. Travelling with 13 y son. Twin room. Was easy to find, we arrived by ferry from Dubrovnik. 15 min walk from ferry. Easy checking in door code provided in advance. Key left in room. We were room 5 on third floor. Was nice as had a veranda so nice to sit out on in the evening afternoon. It was easy to walk to main bits of town We got help with our bags to top floor You can leave the tourist tax in the room with the invoice on checking out. Basic kitchen suitable for our needs. Fridge, small freezer compartment. Hairdryer Kettle Basic cutlery The only thing I would comment on, maybe few additional cutlery items. A bread knife would have been helpful as we bought supplies for simple breakfast. Aircon worked well and much needed And hotwater from independent boiler in bathroom so no issues with hot water. Was also really quiet at night. Nothing to do with the property but in Split at 7am the local. Church bells ring, so no need for an alarm. I would definitely recommend, and would stay again PERFECT AS A BASE TO EXPLORE SPLIT

Overall it was really great! Loved the kitchenette and the location. The only things I’ll mention are the size of the beds and the hot water. The beds are comfortable enough but not very wide. The hot water runs out within 5 minutes of running it but if you’re strategic you can manage like a 10 minute shower if you turn the water off when it’s not completely necessary. Otherwise very nice!

The apartment was in a great location with lots of city sights and amenities in close walking distance. We were able to check in after hours which was super convenient. A couple downsides - the single beds were very narrow, the hot water ran out very quickly and the towels were tiny (I’m an average sized woman and it didn’t fit around me).

The property was very nice. I had a room on the top floor. The stairs were a bit difficult to negotiate in a couple of places. The gated front door with key pad worked well. I was pleased with the room decor. It was clean and tidy. The accommodation was up a street off the road that runs by the bay. There were some lovely restaurants further up the motor vehicle free street. Make sure you reserve a table at any of the eating places. Or, you’ll be disappointed. The Old Town was a 10 minute walk away. I would be more than happy to book a room here again in the future.

I travelled with my husband, and we had a great stay. The room was very clean as well with a large and spacious bathroom. The air conditioning works amazing, which came in handy for the 30+ weather. There is a sink and a small mini fridge. The check in instructions were very thorough and super easy to follow. The location can’t be beat! There are plenty of restaurants around, a little grocery store nearby and a short walk to the Split Riva. I would recommend this place!

Everything was fine except that they never cleaned the room while we were there. The place was pricey so we expected that at least someone would come to change the towels but we were there for 5 nights and no one ever came to clean anything.

We loved this apartment! The communication with the host was fantastic including instructions to enter the building and a video to help. The space was so clean and bright. We loved the balcony outside the apartment with two chairs to relax and gave a drink. At night, it was so quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend this place!!

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds. Fantastic location so close to the city centre and harbour yet so peaceful and quiet. We loved Split, fantastic history, very clean, beautiful to look at, friendly and safe. And even a beautiful beach for swimming. We would love to have stayed longer, we will return and stay in Villa Matejuska again.

We loved Split, fantastic history, very clean, beautiful to look at, friendly and safe. And even a beautiful beach for swimming. This is a really good, affordable spot in a fantastic location. We would definitely consider coming here again for a short Split stay. The place isn't upscale but it is clean and in good shape and has nice charm.

Our room was super cute and cool on a hot day! Though on the top floor at the end of a lot of stairs, the room was cute with a nice, clean modern bathroom. Check in was super easy and we were able to drop off our bags early, which we really appreciated. The only thing that could be improved is mattresses that are a bit more comfy. All in all though, I’d stay here again. The lcoation is great and quiet in the evening.

We requested a room with minimal stairs and were pleased to be given the first floor. Wonderful spacious room, very well done, new windows that kept it silent at night although on a charming street with little noise. Highly recommend as it’s close to the water, the Riva walking street, restaurants, old town etc one of the nicest places we have found on our 5 week trip! It’s walking distance from the ferries so don’t trust the dishonest taxi drivers that say it’s far and charged 30 euros cash!

A very disappointing stay here and not great if you're on a budget and looking for somewhere to cook some of your meals. Despite being stated as part of the booking, there were little to no cooking facilities as part of our stay here. When we asked the host for some more cookware we received a hostile 'no' and they insisted that our cutlery was enough to meal prep? We also found the hob not to be working. It was only after we contacted Expedia that we received a new portable hob and a single pot. That was it. After our interaction with the host, we didn't feel very welcome for the rest of our stay. They did the bare minimum for us and didn't apologise for the inconvenience we had. We received no housekeeping, nor did we have dressing gowns given (two things also listed in the property while booking). The room was also quite unpractical; we couldn't unpack properly as there was not much cupboard space, and plug sockets were in hard-to-use places. The only positives were the location of this property (the neighbourhood is lovely). Other than that I wouldn't recommend those traveling on a budget to stay here. Such a disappointment and a real negative of our holiday.

Stayed 3 nights in Split. Travelling with 13 y son. Twin room. Was easy to find, we arrived by ferry from Dubrovnik. 15 min walk from ferry. Easy checking in door code provided in advance. Key left in room. We were room 5 on third floor. Was nice as had a veranda so nice to sit out on in the evening afternoon. It was easy to walk to main bits of town We got help with our bags to top floor You can leave the tourist tax in the room with the invoice on checking out. Basic kitchen suitable for our needs. Fridge, small freezer compartment. Hairdryer Kettle Basic cutlery The only thing I would comment on, maybe few additional cutlery items. A bread knife would have been helpful as we bought supplies for simple breakfast. Aircon worked well and much needed And hotwater from independent boiler in bathroom so no issues with hot water. Was also really quiet at night. Nothing to do with the property but in Split at 7am the local. Church bells ring, so no need for an alarm. I would definitely recommend, and would stay again PERFECT AS A BASE TO EXPLORE SPLIT

Perfect location near the old town, waterfront, shops and restaurants. Fantastic friendly communication from the owners. We were able to leave our bags pre check-in and were advised that our room was then ready well ahead of the usual 2pm. The owners did our airport transfers in a beautiful car at a very reasonable cost. I would definitely stay at Villa Matejuska again.

I travelled with my husband, and we had a great stay. The room was very clean as well with a large and spacious bathroom. The air conditioning works amazing, which came in handy for the 30+ weather. There is a sink and a small mini fridge. The check in instructions were very thorough and super easy to follow. The location can’t be beat! There are plenty of restaurants around, a little grocery store nearby and a short walk to the Split Riva. I would recommend this place!

The Villa was perfect for two people very clean the hosts were very easy to deal with. There was a lot of restaurants, shopping and tour companies to choose from all within walking distance. Our host went above and beyond to arrange a town car to take us to the airport On a side note do not use taxis in Split they are extremely expensive and not very honest.

The property was ok. The staff was rude and unhelpful. He left our group just 1 key. He messages us that he will help us with stairs but disappeared. When we asked him about parking he sent us to the most expensive one while there were some cheaper options available. Also, during my stay I got food poisoning and requested him to give us an hour extra to check out. He straight away said big fat No and asked us to leave at 10 sharp.

Super clean, very central, and overall a very cute place. Included a patio which was nice, and the room itself was perfect. They let us check in early which was very kind after our overnight ferry. Kind people, and great place!

We loved this apartment! The communication with the host was fantastic including instructions to enter the building and a video to help. The space was so clean and bright. We loved the balcony outside the apartment with two chairs to relax and gave a drink. At night, it was so quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend this place!!

The location was perfect for me. Super close to the old city and walking distance to the ferry port. It is essentially a small studio apartment. The only draw back for me was having to carry my luggage up all the stairs. Not a big problem as I was travelling relatively light and only had to tote it up and down once.

Classic European hotel stop. Glad my kids got to experience staying in a place like this. Walk down the steps and you are in town next to shops, cafes and the Marina is right around the corner.

This hotel is fantastic and close to the water, the walking street, historical areas, grocery stores, lots of restaurants, etc. very very pleased with how spacious it is and in great condition. It’s walking distance from the ferry port so don’t let a taxi driver scam you like he did us for €30. Buffet fife restaurant a bottom of the street to the right was our favorite good prices

We requested a room with minimal stairs and were pleased to be given the first floor. Wonderful spacious room, very well done, new windows that kept it silent at night although on a charming street with little noise. Highly recommend as it’s close to the water, the Riva walking street, restaurants, old town etc one of the nicest places we have found on our 5 week trip! It’s walking distance from the ferries so don’t trust the dishonest taxi drivers that say it’s far and charged 30 euros cash!
