Little Charlie Hotel

Very nice pastry breakfast. Room was tidy and comfortable

We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights. We put our sign out to have the room cleaned while we were gone for the day, but it was not cleaned. Our shower water was hot only 50% of the time and we never got new towels. The location was great for our trip. We appreciated having breakfast pastries in the morning along with water. It was helpful having a noise machine and steamer in our room for the stay.

Pretty awful. I like the neighborhood - there’s a great organic supermarket next door - and the price was right given its graduation season. I arrived around 11 but my room wasn’t ready - fine - so I checked my bag. The woman at the desk didn’t tell me the desk closed at night. I got back at 9:30 - busy day - and couldn’t get in the building. A returning guest let me in. I had a difficult time accessing the self-check-in kiosk. The thing wanted a confirmation number that wasn’t my hotels.com reservation number. After half an hour, I figured it out, thanks to a guest who saw I was struggling and told me he had the same problems the first time he stayed there. In the meantime, I let in two guests whose keys didn’t activate the front door. The room was small, which is fine, but the walls aren’t really soundproofed so I heard the tv from the room next door. There’s next to no water pressure in the shower. There’s no WiFi password to be found in the room. I was there for less than 12 hours. Bed was ok. Lots of street noise from 2nd Avenue. I’d suggest checking people in early, giving them a key activated for 3 PM. That doesn’t solve the problem of the keys not working to get in the front door. Luckily, my bag, stored, was behind a curtain by the desk so I was able to get it. Breakfast was basic, no orange juice, no butter or jam for the croissants. The place could be nicer with competent management. This is the most negative hotels.com review for me.
