Falling apart. I do not see how this place passes safety inspections. There were stairs that were not sturdy, stairs that were slippier with rain. There were puddles of water outside of our door on top of tile flooring. The floor mats were completely torn up which served zero purpose. the first room we got smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. They switched our room quickly - next room smelled too but mostly just old and musty/mildewy. The room was very dark, the paint on doors and the walls was odd - like they do cover up paint every now and again but just in certain spots. The doors, door handles, base boards, etc. are falling apart. Do not count on the coffee having creamer that isn't clumpy and expired from years gone by at Holiday Inn Express since it looks like they might receive their expired products. Maybe this is a good fit for some, but it is one hundred percent not for me or my family. Fortunately we only stayed a night and basically were only awake there for a couple hours.

Stayed here when we went to Cypress gardens waterski show. Super fun trip. Hotel was clean, quiet, on the water, and had old Florida vibe :) Wish we had brought our boat. Hotel had docks!

Property is a mish mash of older buildings. The outside is cluttered with pots everywhere. Check in is through a funny little window and it was hard to see or understand the person checking us in. The dock and pool area is pretty nice. Lighting at night was not good- was dark when we came in and signage was not good for finding our room. The room itself was old but very clean.

I love this property because it’s been part of Winter Haven’s history for decades. The new owners have been there for quite awhile now and they keep it very quaint and nice. It’s right on lake Roy, which is part of the chain of lakes and the living waters boat cruises can pick you up and drop you off there at the resort if you ask them nicely. The pool is warm and inviting and the property at night is beautiful and the sunsets are breathtaking. The rooms are a little outdated but they’re clean and comfortable and the management is very kind and accommodating. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. Perfect place for a respite.

Everything is old and outdated. The mattresses were stained and did not have protective covers. I had to hold the toilet handle down for 20 seconds to get it to flush. My back patio was filled with boxes and debris. The parking lot is so tight your car will probably get scratched. The walls and doors are very thin so you can hear everything. The lake, docks, pool, and plants were the only nice things.

It was not clean. Dead roaches i In the room. Linens definitely need to be upgraded. The metal stairs were rusty and they scared us. The window A/C was cutting on and off every few seconds. The view of Lake Roy was outstanding.

I love gifting myself with weekend getaways now and then at this property. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, rooms are always clean and well taken care of and staff are very nice, it is so quiet and very relaxing sitting out on the patio overlooking the beautiful gardens landscaping lake and pool!!

Just little details. The toilet had a hard time flushing, the door needed to be pushed to get it to lock, and the rusted metal stairs leading up to the room were flimsy. Everything was clean and bug free!

I believe the property at one time was very nice. But as of present day it is very run down dirty. The rooms were clean the beds were very uncomfortable. Blankets in the closet were old and dingy smelling. The grounds were unkept the pool had algae on the bottom and was not properly taken care of. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would not stay here again

the room was very clean, bathroom very clean and multiple towels . Its an older property but was very impressed with the grounds well kept and lots of plants thru out, beautiful view of the lake. My husband and I sat on the screened in balcony and enjoyed the sunset with a cold adult beverage. Property conveniently located to restaurants ( IHOP one door down) and only couple miles to where we needed to be for an event. Left early each morning so had no contact with hotel personnel. Will stay there again. could hear the cars on the road, but once you were inside youir room, it was very quite.

DO NOT STAY HERE! There was mold all over the bathroom ceiling and water actively leaking into the bathroom. The sheets smell like mildew and the rooms are disgusting. These owners are running a roach motel and it’s disgusting and unsafe.

Clean rooms. Beautiful pool and lake view. The screened porches outside each room are perfect for sunset watching! I would call it a hidden jewel for a very reasonable price.

Overall, the room served its purpose for a one-night stay. I appreciated the microwave availability as well as the coffee maker, and fridge. However, the coffee provided was a mix and match from other hotels which I found cheap and off-putting. By far my biggest complaint is that there were ants on my nightstand and the wall. Please address this issue. The staff was friendly, and little things like fancy folded towels were nice, but this place could use a fresh coat of paint and a few upgrades.

The location was excellent. Just an 8 minute drive from Legoland. Lots of food options nearby, iHop just a minute away, Denny’s 5 minutes, and a few minutes more Chipotle, McDonald’s, etc. The hotel itself is old, but everything functioned. Room had a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, tv. Everything was clean.

The room was comfortable and clean with a great view of the lake. The large fridge and table in the suite was a plus. My family and I have been coming every year to this hotel when we go to Legoland and we always have a good experience. It’s only about 10 minutes from Legoland and close to restaurants and stores. Great for a one or two night stay.

This is an old motel. You check in outside at a window because they have closed the lobby. The price was lower than anything else around and had good reviews. I would not stay here as a single female. There were two doors in my room that were locked, leading to other hotel rooms, and it would have been pretty easy to break into the room. Traffic is really loud outside too. It has a 1950’s vibe. They said, the rooms were clean, sheets immaculate, bathroom was dated but clean. There was no shampoo in the room. It worked for 1 night, but made me, a middle aged guy a little uneasy.

Very old and outdated. Room was clean but smelled badly and needed much renovation. Dead bolt didn't work, paint needed on walls and doors, tv didn't work, shower wouldn't stop dripping and you could hear everything from the room next door through the adjoining door. Couldn't even get to sleep until after 2am when the people in the other room finally went to bed.

I loved the hotel, we got the room facing the lake. It was a lakefront room. We had chairs in a screen room, facing the lake. It was a bit older, but the serenity was awesome. The owners are a older Chinese couple, and they were great and polite. The lights on the wooden fence were beautiful, well maintained grass, and grounds. The room was great, comfy bed, and a spare blanket for cold nights. And the peace and quiet was great, unlike, modern hotels, you hear a lot of people, not this place.

I was immediately informed that the room I booked was not a pet friendly room, though I made sure that when I booked the room that my dog was allowed. The hotel clerk requested that I pay $60.00 more to allow my dog in a pet friendly room, in addition to the $33.60 pet fee that I was told I must pay for the single night I was there. This made me feel that I was being deceived, lied to, and taken advantage of. Alternate room NOT to be a lake view NOR a king room as reserved. I was locked out of full room, no microwave, found prescription drugs and hard alcohol in uncleaned room, filthy stained smelly pillows, broken window blinds, noisy all night, wobbly toilet could not use, dirty leaky shower, sand and other people's hair in bed, stained wet blanket, odor of smoke in room, TOTALLY DISGUSTING and DENIED ANY REFUND .. GROSS HOTEL OF THE YEAR .. DO NOT BOOK HERE !!!

Staff was fantastic, I had a situation and they were so understanding, changed the room to another one on the first floor because it was difficult to climb stairs. Would definitely rebook with them, the accommodations are clean, comfortable and as mentioned, wonderful staff.

Old-school warerfront gem that is a vestige of the heyday of Cypress Gardens, and the mom-and-pop accommodations nearby. Excellent value and location, right up the road from Legoland. The ambience of the lake is unmatched by anything I've seen for miles around. Staff is caring and attentive to older rooms and facilities. Try to book facing the lake and it will exceed all expectations, especially at this price point.

I really like the location very close to Legoland, restaurants and fun places. The view to the lake is beautiful, if you like to enjoy the garden, peace and nature definitely this is the place. I stayed 2 nights with my 10 yr old boy and it was great. The bed, sheets and towels were clean, no bugs or any creature. Room 209 was quiet and a/c was working perfectly. No smells, no drama.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The lake at night and the way they have the back lit up is beautiful. We even got to see some fireworks which made it even more special. The only problem is that our room was a little warm and even with the AC turned down as low as it could go it never really cooled off too much

$176 per night for this junky hotel with no breakfast options. Lakeside was neat but, the rooms were not up to par. I will pick another place over this one in the future.
