Riu Santa Fe - All Inclusive

Pools were nice but not heated and closed at 7pm

Love the adult pool areas

Rooms clean. Mattresses bad. Medano beach, Excellent! Pools great with Plenty of space to swim and rough horse around with the kids. Could always find lounge chairs. Water parks, fun! Food for picky eaters all day. Always available: pizza, burgers, hot dogs, tacos. My kids are pretty picky. I enjoy good food but don’t care to spend a ton of money when traveling with my kids bc it’s wasted on them. The Mexican food at the resort was decent. The “restaurants” we were not impressed by, but we stuck to the buffets for the most part. - Drinks were plentiful both non- alcoholic and alcoholic. I actually liked that the alcoholic beverages were NOT strong. - Entertainment. There was something for everyone. My husband and I went to one of the “Riu party” foam pool parties while grandparents hung out with kids. 18 and over only entry. The jungle themed party started at 2:30 PM and went to 11. We were there 4:30-6:30 and had a blast. The campus is pretty big but these parties are loud and it would have sucked if our building was right next to this but thankfully ours wasn’t. Though you could still hear the bass bumping in our rooms other nights, it was tolerable.

Staff was excellent, amenities were great. Only downside would be the food. During the day the buffets, and restaurants are solid, however after 10pm the only thing open is the sports bar and it’s awful. Overall would recommend to people

Pool was to cold, We could not stay in long. Bar pool, will lets just say after a few hours we never saw anyone get out to go use the bathroom and plunty of excessive drinking. We are adults and perhaps this place is for the younger crowds. The bathrooms are not easy to find and very few for the size of the property. Our suite 7226 was fantastic with a great view. Getting to the restaurants is a bit of a walk from ocean view rooms and not one bench along the way to sit. Food was fair at best and forget the steak house if you get there after 6:00 you will have to wait over an hour or even not get in at all. We were able to get in once in our two week stay. It's a Party Resort and food is not high priority, No drink delivery in whole resort, get your own. No room service. Anyway great place if your young but we will not be staying at any Riu properties again. Having said that we did enjoy the room and still enjoyed our stay.

Room was clean and restocked lots. The Adult pools were amazing overlooking the ocean. Restaurant we pretty good. But the place can be loud at night with all the partying. But it is a lot of fun

The spa was amazing. Great service. The resort had everything, everything that practically made us not want to leave it lol. Lots of walking because its a small beautiful city inside the resort. Great time. Great clean pools. The parties were awesome.

First time in Cabo. We really liked this resort. Not a huge property—very walkable. Only ate at the buffets which had a ton of food choices. It’s not fine dining but the food was good. Staff at meals were nice and helpful for the most part. It helped to tip and then have the same waiter for follow up visits. The service definitely gets better. Night time entertainment for families was ok. But we were usually tired so it wasn’t a big let down. The pools are great. Really liked the infinity pool at the beach. You can set up there and easily move between the ocean and pool. Self serve draft beer at the pool was a nice amenity. The beach is beautiful and clean. The water is a brilliant blue. Rough surf so you have to be careful swimming. But it’s the most pleasant ocean water I have ever been in. Had a massage on the beach. 30 bucks for 30 minutes. Fantastic. Also booked a snorkeling trip at the hotel. It’s in the same bay so it was quick, only about 2 hours and a lot of fun. Gym is very nice. But very crowded each morning. Would stay here again.

No alcoholic beverages offered at breakfast buffet was a bummer also no waiters around the pool.

Great place to stay however make sure to ask for the building w an elevator or else you are carrying luggage up flights of stairs. We had to walk up 3 flights w our heavy luggage.

We had paid for private transportation and then got stuck un a van with 8 other people . Then at the resort there were cockroaches at the buffet .

Overall we had a good stay at the Riu Santa Fe, with a few things to note. The location is great. Yes, the beach is a bit of a walk, but 10 to 20 minutes gets you to a rare swimmable yellow-flag beach in Cabo. The pools were awesome with lots of shade and, shockingly, plenty of chairs at all times. Entertainment was fine, and kid activities for our five and six year old were pretty meh, so don’t come here expecting a strong kids club. Service could improve. A poolside waiter would have been amazing. We randomly had one on our last day and I’m not sure why not the rest of the week. Bar lineups were long, so bring a reusable cup. Skip Pepe’s food — it was rough. The wet and pizza was the best poolside option. Oddly, no alcohol near the slides. Our room looked newly renovated but had black mold from a leaky shower and poor ventilation. We kept our location rather than switch. We also had musty brown towels, while housekeeping carried bright white ones elsewhere. Pool towels were musty too, but that seems typical in humid places. Cleanliness also an issue. RIU, Please do a deep clean!! Food was about three stars, which we expected. Everything was edible and often good. Most “restaurants” were actually themed buffets, except Kulinarium and the American one. My biggest complaint was sleep. Even in the 3000 block of rooms(far from party zone) the Riu Party blasted until 2 a.m. nightly. Mattresses were also very uncomfortable and old! Hard springs

We noticed the shower in our room had not been completely scrubbed and that's something we really value; other than that, the food in both breakfast buffets was uncovered and we did notice flies on the food, but oververall our stay was ok.

We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the entire complex. Even the bathrooms by the pools/beach were spotless. Lots of staff everywhere that were working hard and friendly. The night entertainment overall was okay... the MJ show was awesome and the live band in the courtyard by the fountain were our favorites of the week. The Riu Santa Fe complex is huge so there is lots of walking. Even with lots of people, it didn't feel overcrowded and we never really had a line-up for food or drinks (except The Mission restaurant was busy and you need to reserve) and there are loads of lounge chairs at the pools and on the beach. It was nice to have a minibar and alcohol in the rooms. You cannot swim at the beach in front of the resort. But a ten minute walk in either direction along the beach and people were swimming. Or a drive to San Jose Del Cabo and there are beautiful beaches for swimming and snorkelling. Downsides - the big pools were too cold and the drinks were very watered down. Overall it was a very good week at this resort.

The food is horrible. Flies and insects all over the food. The cooks could not keep up with making the food. The room AC was not cold it just felt like it was misting water. The room was humid with mold in their wall pictures. Our belongings all felt wet. Overall I would not recommend especially if traveling with children.

The room was spotless every day. The cleaning staff didn't do as well restocking the coffee bar or refrigerator. The staff was always pleasant and courteous and eager to help.

Bed bugs in the room. I asked for new room they declined and said they will fumigate and I will be able to go back in. When I came back nothing happened. Wasted full day to finally get a new room and that room had bed bugs as well. I called front office upset and they moved me to another room after a couple hours. Now at home I have to pay a bed bug exterminator to make sure I dont get them in my house. I threw away clothes and luggage to bring back the least amount of things. I was travelling with my 2 kids so it sucks seeing bug bites on your 4 month old baby and 4 year old son. It is unfortunate, but I feel they have to take the time and actually fumigate the hotel. Atleast the section we were at.

The staff were extremely kind and accommodating. The pools were gorgeous and there was a variety of delicious food. However, upon entering our room, we noticed dead ants littering the bed along with flies and webs along the wall. If you prioritize a clean hotel room, I wouldn't stay here.

Room had 2 twin beds to make a king bed the worst experience ever

Air conditioning is very loud in room. Couldn’t get the room under 23 degrees celcius. Air conditioning was working well in my daughters room and our other friends room.

The room was not clean. There was hair in between the sheets in the bed and stains on the curtains. The bed was very hard making it hard for me to sleep. There were bugs in the food from the breakfast buffet. Most of the restaurants were buffets which is not my preference. I booked the resort to celebrate my birthday and the concierge gave me a hard time about blowing up 10 balloons I brought. Other hotels and resorts I’ve stayed at for my birthday, typically have no problem doing that and try to do something small to make my birthday special. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel or stay again.

The room was very nice and all the amenities were a bonus. Maricela, a bartender at the main pool was very fun and friendly. If you go to bed early, please ask to stay away from building number 6- it is right next to the dance club that plays loud music until 2 am.

The staff was absolutely fantastic!! David in the buffet was extremely helpful and always took great care of our plus 20 party at breakfast!

Staff sucks big time

Expedia was unsuccessful in contacting the hotel a week prior to our trip. If you need to make changes…book with the hotel directly. Hotel staff was great! Food just meh Rooms okay Property definitely dated

I loved the hotel itself but unfortunately, the staff were not as friendly in my personal opinion. I called the reception about 3 times and had no resolution even when I called about the TV not working properly or at all and no one went to the room to fix it.

Food quality is not good, and they do run out of food for major stations like eggs during breakfast. I also got an issue with the safe box, when requested support the said we can’t open for you until the next day, he even stated: “your emergency isn’t our emergency”. I do not recommend this resort.

Food wasn’t good. Was told that the mini bar and fridge were restocked every 2 days and they never came to my room even after telling staff on more than 2 occasions.

Pleasant and courteous staff. Always ready to help. Food was good. Room doors closing can be irritating if your a light sleeper. Will miss the place for sure.

Lots of space- allowing for less crowding and always options for chairs. Attentive staff.

I stay there almost 5 days. Everything was good but the problem was for the check-in line. I almost waited 2 hour and 30 minutes that was crazy. They should work on the staff or do something for online check-in. Everything overall was good I enjoyed it and celebrated my birthday.

Great pool areas and dining options. Beach access 5 mins away in car. Otherwise, great place if you want to come a have a great time.

The Hotel and services are superb only downside is the road that leads to the entrance is just terrible. Hope a solution can be done cause the place deserves it.

I hate the fact when I wanted to go outside and I called the uber I have to walk like a city block and a half to get it. They don’t allow the uber to come inside which is insane. We are tourist

The property was very clean and convenient, close to town.

The road leading to the front gate is terrible. Google maps will take you down a sandy dry river bed which is actually better than the road.

Very friendly staff Food variety and taste is average The road outside of the gate is terrible

Not able to swim at the beach...very strong waves. Walked 1 km. towards the marina and water was much calmer

The rooms were clean. The food and drinks were horrible. No changes to the menu any day. All restaurants served similar cuisine. Not fresh, greasy. No good activities for kids or grown ups. Pool wasn’t very clean.

Standard cookie cutter resort no extra frills food was average had a good time drinks a little watered down but what you expect, pretty large property, if u want something extra don’t come here, but if it’s a resort standard u want with good pricing this place is for you

It was flies in all the food areas. Flies were everywhere I had to make sure I got my food fresh off the grill so no flies were on it. Also for it to be all inclusive the steak house is not great and don’t have many options like other resorts.

Lots of entertainment both day and night. Huge resort. Lots to do and eat. Not a swimmers beach but can walk about half a mile if you want to enjoy the ocean. Resort does not offer premium liquor.

Property was beautiful and very well manicured and maintained. Buffets overall were very good - lots of choices. Specialty restaurants were awful - most were just another buffet - with seating. And the cook to order was terrible - all done in advance under a warming cover - tough meat - poorly cooked. The best specialty was the Mexican - and even that was partially buffet. Understand when catering to thousands but don’t advertise as specialty .

The pool bar staff were fantastic, and it was a great location. The sit-down restaurants were not very good, with the Italian being the worst. I would recommend sticking with the buffets or going off-campus. Great value!

Very clean. Staff were friendly. Wish there we more service based restaurants. Steakhouse required you to get in line at 4:30pm for reservations but did not open until 5:30pm.
