Eslington Villa

A nice, traditional hotel with super friendly staff. Was only a one night stay, up from Surrey to watch the PSG game, and they greeted us with a nice, personal approach and a smile. The house is obviously old, with creaks and groans as you wander about but has character. The room was clean and comfortable with traditional touches, such as decor and trimmings, absolutely not a bog standard 'every other hotel room' feel. Parking was easy and felt secure, my car was literally under my window! Breakfast was plentiful and nicely cooked, cereals and croissants to line the stomach until the full English arrived. Every member of staff was just so nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. If you forced my hand and asked for a negative, the only thing I would add is a USB port anywhere in the room as I forgot the plug end for my phone cable! Lol.

Nice, clean rooms in a beautiful old villa. Quiet location and close to Newcastle city center or shopping, just a few minutes by car. Very friendly hosts and staff, award winning restaurant on site and a nice garden - if the weather permits it. We enjoyed staying there and can recommend this hotel.

Lovely building and grounds. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food excellent with good choices. Unfortunately Willow room had no window and the bathroom was in need of some tlc and a new shower.

Parking easy. Arrival reception very welcoming. We got upgraded 2 bedroom apartment with on sweet bathrooms. Kitchen and maybe other parts of the apartment upgrade needed. Quiet and slept well. Breakfast kippers cooked dry, our table got not toast, other tables did. As WIFI did not get as far as our room, one did go downstairs to download. before going to meetings. I walked in from the reception to the sitting area. I was confronted and I asked: ‘if it was ok to sit there and download as WIFI problem’! She told me I can sit there but she will start shortly hoovering??? I asked: ‘Where do you want me to go?’ She kept repeating same. Confused I sat down and she kept coming in and out but not hoovering. I moved to the reception as there was 2 seats and cleaner followed there as well: ‘So you found sitting area.’ I was running out of time before going away my meetings. As reception, telephone rang and cleaner answered, people coming and going. I could not finish 15 minute task. Still not Hoover running? If business travel one needs WIFI limited peace. Dinner good and service good. Last morning my salmon and scrambled egg had hair. Enjoyed toast. Second morning excellent service!

We arrived late and were greeted by a young girl who was pleasant enough but obviously at the end of a long shift. Asked if we stayed before and when we said no she sighed and said you room is well up the stairs and follow the white signs ? We then came down for a drink and we discussed a brandy of which they only had one and then asked me again which brandy and I repeated you only had one. Very pleasant but admitted she did not know much about the alcohol. The room was fine and clean and comfortable but when we came to have a shower the next morning no hot water and when i mentioned it to the rather unpleasant girl in the morning she said thanks and they would get it fixed ! very helpful to us. Breakfast was a farce. we were ignore for 10 minutes an had to sit at a table with dirty plates etc but only table tat was not covered in dirty crockery and debris with two clean place settings. Asked for tea and toast 3 times over the next 45 minutes tea arrived after 20 minutes and less than fresh toast after 45 minutes each time we asked if was as if it was our first request and the croissants we requested never appeared. We did get hot/warm food but scrambled egg extremely interesting. Girl advised they were busy restaurant half empty but every table still covered with dirty crockery etc when we left two members of staff wandering around aimlessly with no direction and we saw other diners leaving with no toast and tea after waiting so long. Avoid at all costs this hotel.

The hotel is situated close to local amenities but just far away to be quiet. Some areas of the hotel require a lick of paint but it was generally clean and worth the money. Breakfast was good.

Two nights, all good. Clean and tidy, excellent value for money.

Our room was quite tired and pretty dirty - there were hairs and dust where there shouldn't be. The room was also very warm, and I had to repeatedly ask for a fan. Also, no one answered my calls when I rang reception about this three times. The best bit about the 2 night stay was the friendliness of the breakfast staff.

The room was very well kept, organised and tidy. The lady who's name I don’t really know was wonderful, attentive and gave a 5 star qulaity service.

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and polite. The rooms and hotel are quite old fashioned but are clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was really good. The bathroom radiator blasted out so much heat (and couldn’t be turned down) so the room was quite hot…bearing in mind it was November!

Big room and very big bathroom with stand-alone bath and walk-in shower. The included breakfast is fantastic with very nice choices. Will definitely stay here again.

Have stayed here in the past and always enjoyed a relaxing night or two. Unfortunately not so this time. My wife and I retired for be about 9.30 and were just settling down when the room next door erupted with noise from multiple people having what sounded like a party. We gave them a while, hoping it would go quiet eventually. Quite the opposite, at around 11pm the music started at full blast and the thin walls in the newer part of the hotel did nothing to disguise it. I was forced to get the night porter to ask them to be a bit quieter as we were trying to sleep. They did as asked, but only for a short while thrn it dtarted again. I tried calling the porter again but he must have been busy elsewhere. Sheer exhaustion got the better of us snd we did fall asleep but were awoken numerous times until it finally stopped sometime after 1am. Next morning we tried to complain to the management but were told but the lovely lady on reception that they dont come in till later but she took my details and promised someone would csll me. They didn't and Iv'e given them well over a week to contact me to at the very least apologise, but as they obviously dont think its important enough I felt I should msje my feelings known via these comments.

Arrived a few hours early, and the lady on the front desk was really friendly and got us checked into our room. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff at breakfast were very nice and the food was very nice also very fresh. She even made my son a bacon sandwich because he couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed 😂. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great little spot. Was on business and needed some quite time. Food is good fresh and well cooked. Menu was pleasing and not too exspensive.

The best thing about this hotel villa was the staff, who were terrific. The food was absolutely delicious.
