Staff were very friendly but professional. Breakfast was very good. The restaurant serves delicious food - great variety and reasonably priced with 10% discount for residents. There are lots of stairs to the rooms so it may not suit a traveller with mobility problems. Staff carried my luggage up and down the stairs. Directly opposite the ferry to the beach and a pleasant walk to town centre.- 5 mins.

Really lovely place, central yet peaceful, nice staff - would visit again

We, two couples in our seventies, stayed there for ten days from 5th October 2026. This is a small lovely family run 3* hotel right on the quayside in Tavira. It is five minutes or so walk from the Republic Square with the Old Town another few minutes just across the Roman Bridge - very convenient for everything that Tavira offers. The ferry to the Island leaves the quay from just opposite. It isn't purpose built but rather its 22 bedrooms have been created out of remodelling of an original building to the front and some smaller, older buildings to the rear, consequently it is slightly quirky inside. Note that there is no lift, but Paulo and team are very willing to help lift suitcases to upper floors - and back down. The bedrooms and bathrooms are kept clean and bathrooms have good showers with strong hot water supplied. We had a balcony at the rear overlooking part of the town - a lovely spot for coffee in the morning and for sun most of the day. If you'd like more sun or just to get away from it all, there is a roof terrace. On the ground floor is a very popular restaurant for guests and locals - the menu is modest but the food is good and for guests there is a 10% discount! Guests were widely ranged in age, from young couples to old couples like us (!) and with a great mix of nationalities. Staff were helpful and friendly - a special mention for Paulo, Sandra, Beatriz and the bar and waiting staff in the restaurant who all working extremely hard. Highly recommended.

My husband chose Reidential Mares because I am disabled This hotel proved to be the ideal choice, the room was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and most helpful. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant below where again the staff were efficient and very friendly. When we departed the receptionist helped with our luggage and was lovely. We both highly recommend this hotel the view is superb and position is central and ideal to catch the boat to the island of Tavira All in all an ideal holiday destination Rechenda and Courtland Rees
