While the overall stay was nice (great spa, gym, restaurant and bar) - the hotel was definitely overwhelmed with the weekend crowd (rooms not ready at 15:00, and some rooms - like ours - definitely not up to 5-star standard).

Absolutely loved staying at this hotel! We had a beautiful view of the garden and the lake. Super spacious room, very clean and filled with all the amenities including a large bathtub. The hotel facilities specially 2x swimming pools were gorgeous and exceptional. Be sure to use the saunas and steam rooms. You can also take advantage of quiet reading room that no kida allowed. Breakfast was just fantastic, delicious and full of options both western and eastern. Highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at.The staff are outstanding. Polite, helpful with excellent English but prepared to humour my attempts at speaking French. The room was wonderful with an incredible view across the lake to the mountains. The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially the eggs Benedict cooked to order. The spa was good too. I could not recommend more

The room was very clean, with a nice view and excellent housekeeping service. We were also lucky to have such good weather during our stay. I heard the building was just renovated last year—it now has a modern-classic design that I really love! The only drawback was the service, as I had to repeat the same request twice before it was taken care of

Loved the stay except for day 1 as I had to put a hold on my activities as bathroom wasn’t functioning (no hot water for shower) and wasn’t fixed until late night (was initially told it will take an hour). There was hair on hair dryer in the bathroom so cleaning could be better. But great professional staff, would visit again just for them!

We were placed in a Signature Room with Lake View. Unfortunately we were facing other buildings rather the Lake View. The lake View was only visible from the balcony at a very sharp angle. Also the bar service was slow and staff not attentive. We had to remind the staff that we ordered drinks on several occasions. I also do not understand why Funky Claude's Bar advertise that food is available until 1am weekdays and yet we were not able to book anything to it? Overall very disappointed.

Service during arrival was terrible, no one helped us with the luggage even though there are 8 of us including a child. We asked the lobby personnel twice but they simply said its not their job. In the end we have to carry all luggages to our room by ourselves. We booked 4 rooms at the hotel and all of the AC does not work, the technician came to try to fix it but he was not able to. At 12AM they offered to change our room, we did, but the AC was also not working. They gave us a fan. Such a shame for a grand hotel like this. Overall, horrible experience, the worst of our trip in Switzerland.

Les : - le service (pro, souriant, sympathique) - la restauration - l’emplacement - la vue sur le lac Les -: - la chambre qui n’a rien à voir avec ce qui est décrit ni avec les photos sur le site internet de l’hôtel et celles dans le livre présentant l’hôtel disponible dans les chambres: bien plus petite, sans espace lounge, avec un micro balcon où il est difficile de s’asseoir. - L’insonorisation des chambres est aussi très mauvaise. Nous entendions tout ce que disait les occupants de la chambre d’à coté (chambre communicante évidemment). À 1879 CHF la nuit et étant habitués à des hôtels de haut standing nous avons été très déçus. C’est à la limite de la publicité mensongère…

Ci siamo stati per capodanno. Servizio deludente fin dal momento della prenotazione: ho chiesto se accettavano cani, nessuno ha risposto. Ho scritto una seconda mail, finalmente hanno risposto dicendo che dovevo pagare una quota di 30€ ma il cane sarebbe stato accettato e avrebbero fornito cuccia e ciotole, ma all’arrivo in stanza non c’era nulla nonostante alla reception mi avessero detto che era tutto pronto. Ovviamente ho dovuto pagare la quota nonostante ciò. La stanza é molto vecchia, stile anni 70-80, andrebbe rinnovata, per non parlare del bagno con doccia in vasca. Temperatura invivibile, abbiamo spento tutto e abbiamo dovuto aprire le finestre. Alla faccia del cambiamento climatico! All’arrivo, nessuno ci ha aiutati con i bagagli, nonostante ci fossero 5 persone all’ingresso. Ottimi invece sia il ristorante Nikkei Nine, sia il servizio colazione, con un ottimo buffet. La posizione dell’hotel é incantevole, così come la città di Montreux. Onestamente non credo tornerei al Fairmont.

Everything had gone really smoothly and we had had a beautiful time, we asked the person in charge in the reception if we could leave one night before with 24 previous hours, she agreed and told us there was no problem. One day after this person wasnt there and the other receptionist said that what she told us was not true and we had to pay the night because we had made the reservation through Expedia. I am upset because it seemed the hotel wanted to punish us for using expedia to book the hotel even thought the stay wasnt paid for.

Desde el check in la información que dan es errónea: dicen horarios en los que los niños pueden usar la alberca y cuando lo hacen, no se los permiten. El staff de recepción grosero. Dejan pasar a dos grupos antes sin explicación cuando éramos los siguientes en la línea y cuando les dices te contestan de regreso de forma grosera! Y ni siquiera saben que están en Suiza y no en Francia. Te tratan como si estuvieras en Paris. No vuelvo!!! Mil veces mejor Banyan Tree

Perfect location to the Christmas market and things to see and do. We walked everywhere. I loved this hotel. The staff were amazing and the rooms were comfortable. Older property, which is what Fairmont is and the architecture is beautiful. Christmas decorations everywhere which made is very festive. Public train to anywhere but specifically Zermatt and Geneva airport was very close but take a cab on your way out and there is a large hill (which we found fine) but if you don't want to lug your suitcase behind you up a hill... Definitely recommend this hotel.
