Castle Kaha Lani Resort

This 1-bedroom 2-bathroom w shared shower condo was perfect for my husband and me plus my sister. She slept on the sofa bed that was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and most utensils that we needed. We didn’t need AC during our Xmas holiday stay. The ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom was adequate. It was awesome to be able to simply walk out the ocean facing doors and walk along the beach. The swimming pool was clean and thankfully it was heated. Parking was conveniently right in front of the condo. WiFi and Netflix service was available. We highly recommend this resort and would definitely stay here again.

The unit we stayed in was pretty old and outdated but very usable for vacation! Overall the resort was very nice, staff was very friendly and helpful! The location was amazing if you want ocean front, just a little walk right down onto the beach! The pool was clean and refreshing! Recommend having own transportation from this location.

The grounds at this property are really beautiful. We enjoyed the pool as well as walks on the pathway along the coast. The location was great for going to Lihue as well as towards Kapaa and beyond.

Quiet neighborhood, well landscaped property, close access to Wailua and Kapaa amenities, relaxing view. Cell coverage bad for Consumer Cellular (walk 50 yards for ok coverage) but good for Verizon. Wifi was fine. Wish ceiling fans were a bit stronger. Condo stocked with 4 beach chairs and other recreation amenities. Pad on bed was slippery so occasionally uncomfortable. Pillows were uncomfortable for us (maybe not others). We interpreted the listing as having a washer and dryer in the unit, but these are actually in an adjacent building.

The location was great. The view of the ocean was beautiful. Watching the sun rise and set was absolutely gorgeous from the balcony or deck. The rooms are very dated. There was no air conditioning but with the doors open it’s stayed cool. The pool area is very nice and the pool is kept in excellent condition.

The property is off the beaten path so theres not alot of foot traffic so you feel isolated from all the commotion of tourism, but still close to shops, restaurants, bars, farmers markets etc... in all directions. We went to Costco and stocked up on beer and food and cooked alot at the condo for breakfast and dinner. We hung out on the lanai about 80% of the time drying off from swimming and just enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean. We had, and I would highly suggest, a pair of water shoes for the rocks in the ocean. To sum up, everything was perfect and one of the best, relaxing vacations we've ever had. We visited Kaha lani the week of Dec 1st. This is a condo resort 2bed/2bath ocean view. The condo itself is a little dated but it has everything you need for your stay. There are pots and pans, iron, hair dryer, bowls and coffee maker. These units are individually owned so these amenities vary depending on who the owner is. The location is right on the beach and you can see the ocean from your patio lanai. There is no a/c in these homes however the ocean breeze creates cool air coming straight thru the window. Not sure about the summer months. There is plenty of parking. Laundry is on site at the office clubhouse. I would advise bringing ear plugs or noise canceling head sets as the roosters crow at 3-4 am. The condo was clean and spacious and it was enough for our group of 5. There is cable tv and wifi. The area grounds are very well kept with nice landscaping. The pool was clean and a decent temperature but it didn’t feel heated. There are BBQ gas grills on the property. The staff and security are welcoming and friendly. We were allowed a late check out due to a late departure. I would say our stay was pleasant and welcoming. We really only used the condo to shower and sleep. We were out everyday venturing and exploring the island. I would definitely stay here again as it was a budget friendly ocean front property.

Loved the experience. Close to the brach. Easy parking. Nice furnishings. Good wifi. Friendly staff. Good pool and BBQ. Check in was a nightmare, though. We couldn't get in. Flight was delayed and office closed when we arrived. No instructions as to how to find a key. Made some calls at around 1am and finally a sleepy voice told us there is a lockbox at the office and gave us the code. Wrong key inside! More phone calls. We were about to sleep on the lanai when a sleepy security guy came over with the right key. 3am. Only other problems were dishwasher. Didn't work. TV hopeless until staff changed batteries on one of the remotes. No proper instruction as to which remote might work. Wasn't a problem cos we weren't there to watch TV

Everyone is about 50ft from the ocean/beach, can you beat that! The property is quiet and grounds exceptionally kept. Fully stocked kitchen, even had basic seasonings. Small property so everything, like pool and Laundromat are easy to get to. In-between two towns, easy drive for food. Walmart and Costco 10-15min. Easy walk to beach with lifeguard.

Super cute condo perfect size for my gf and I. Clean, great view, and loved how there were two bathrooms. Downfall : be ready to climb 3 levels of stairs if you’re on the 3rd floor. NO elevators. I am pregnant and had to carry my check in luggage up the staircase. Another con was the roosters. I don’t mind roosters crying in the morning because I know there’s no control over that on the islands. BUT they were crying everyday at 3am nonstop. Our windows weren’t really windows…? It was more like a screen with blinds so there was nothing we could do to close the ‘windows’ to prevent the noises from the roosters. Other than that, it was an amazing place and great price.

Great central location and the view was top notch from the balcony, however, the unit was not clean nor do they maintain it (everything is rusted, including the fridge, and some windows are rusted open) We had to clean the kitchen and bathrooms prior to us using them as it was obvious no one bothered to even wipe them down after the previous use - all this while being charged hundreds for a cleaning fee. Ants everywhere in the kitchen (can't say this is everywher, as it's not been at other properties), no working internet or TV for half our stay, the carpet in the living room is coming up and makes a trip hazard coming in from the deck. The place has great potential if they would actually clean and maintain it.

It looked like every condo had an ocean view. The condo was clean and very well supplied. Staff was great everything on the grounds as well as our condo was well maintained. When we return will stay here again

Our condo had cockroaches and was not very clean. I found used Kleenexes in our bedroom. I put out traps for roaches and found about 8 dead ones the next day and they decreased after that. But, it was disgusting and I’ve had to wash and scrub everything we took there. They only had one key and wouldn’t get us a second one. View was awesome, grounds were awesome.

I have multiple complaints, starting with the price, I paid a lot including the flight, but we also had to pay extra at th front desk for the cleaning fee, which is crazy expensive! The resort had no cleaning at all and we had to spend 10 days in a room that did not get cleaned and there was no washing or drying machine. Second of all we got a room which 5 people were supposed to fit into and there were only 3 beds and a couch which is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep on, slept on it for 1 night and woke up with HUGE back pains addition to the uncomfortable couch, 3 days before we were supposed to leave my daughter found a bed bug crawling on her while she was sitting on the couch, the 2 beds upstairs were small and uncomfortable as well, no bed bugs were found in the beds but since they were on the couch there is no doubt they are not of the bed. Third of all, everything was so rusted because of the humid/hot air, the windows didn’t close which means there was no privacy in the bathrooms, the walls started rotting! the shower door downstairs did not close at all from all the rotting and the bathtub was clogged, the door into the downstairs bedroom was about to fall off, the lights didn’t work is most of the rooms in the apartment. The cabinets in the kitchen all started rotting as well and the dishwasher STINKS, there was plates, pots, and cups but it was so dirty that I have to go buy new one because it was just gross eating out of them. The carpets on the stairs and in the dining room

There were electrical shorts in the stove. Electrical shorts in the master bathroom, house was filthy, as you can see by the photos! Our “fully stocked kitchen did not so much as have a toaster let alone a spatula or baking pan.

Fantastic view. Very clean. The condo had everything we needed to cook and entertain. It was beautiful. The pool was right outside our room and the path to the beach not far at all. Loved our stay.

Charged us a hefty "cleaning fee" yet we had no in-room service, walls/doors had dirty smudges, and we were required to take out our own trash and wash all our dishes by hand because the dishwasher top tray was stuck shut and already full of dishes. Overall: worn, tired, and neglected. No dishclothes, sponges, or decent potholders. Dirty mugs on shelf. Burned out bulb over kitchen sink, towels so worn there were holes and frayed edges. Despite a shelf of DVDs, there were no instructions for the player (it didn't even appear to be hooked up). A bathroom door wouldn't latch without brute force and loud bang. Given no A/C or de-humidifiers, we had to keep all windows open despite frequent sewer odors from a nearby treatment plant. Many of the vented windows and shades were worn to the point of not opening/closing properly. Needs work!

Amazingly idyllic property. Full amenities, very clean and grounds well kept...Ocean views...beach in front of property goes for miles, almost vacant...IMPRESSED!

Location good. Ocean view good. Unit needs a good solid cleaning and organizing. Lots of dust here and there. Storage areas are messy and not organized. Kitchen cupboards are unorganized. A few of the closet doors were not on their runners so wouldn’t close properly. It was nice to have some beach supplies, however the chairs are in poor condition. We found a partial water bottle under the bed in primary (not ours).Under the bed was very dirty. The TV is not user friendly although we did figure it out after a week.

Older property and unit. Had issues with the tv and no a/c made it a bit warmer and less comfortable than planned. But the views from our unit were great!

Coaches could have been cleaner. One ceiling fan did not work. The apartment we stayed in definitely needs an upgrade. Overall it was a good sysy/experience

We arrived after check in time and communication with very good security wss there was there with all the instructions and we went to our units and checked in the next morning. Our condo was well stocked with linens, towels for the beach and bath, and the best stocked kitchen i've ever had in a rental. The down part was not having AC and it was very hot and stuffy the first night. We went and got each of us a fan with more power and it made all the difference. There were plenty of pool and beach toys for our 2 girls. The location was amazing, 10 steos from the back deck to the pool and the beach access was just oast the pool. We loved our stay here and would cone back.

Loved the view and how quiet during the day. No air conditioning but nice breeze. Early rooster wakeup call though!!

The overall property is excellent, beautiful, well kept. The Pool and BBQs were used every day. Easy access to the bike/walking path to Lydgate beach. Our unit, # one one two was terrible. Old, broken wooden, heavy sliding shutters for the main windows viewing the ocean. So no privacy. Its screen had to be fixed. Most of the window roll-up curtains did NOT work. The kitchen is outdated, most drawers did not open easily. The kitchen sink was broken and had to be fixed. this was important because the dishwasher was broken! Most of the fan and light switches were failing or hard to adjust. I was getting shocked by the light fixture in the middle bathroom. This unit ONLY had a beautiful view, NOTHING else to brag about.

We had 2 days with no WiFi because the service provider had an issue the property management said. We liked the location, space to move around and make meals and listening to the ocean was nice! The inside condo was a little dated and run down. The blinds didn't work, so minimal privacy. The roosters woke us up every morning at 5am which was charming, but takes getting used to.

We did not use the pool and had no balcony and had to imagine the ocean view from our room. The sofas can definitely use a cleaning. We had to complain several times before the wireless was fixed. There was no room cleaning for our entire stay.

Average experience overall. Cons: Our stay needed renovation - wooden rollup blinds did not work properly, very little privacy due to the blinds and glass windows, wooden sliding doors were off the hinges and did not close properly, many kitchen items were dirty/dusty, TV drawer had DVDs but was also filled with random dusty cables and other items. Pros: Great location as a midpoint to visit different parts of the island. Plenty of parking with easy check-in and check-out. Laundry area is a plus (though you need to provide your own detergent). Friendly staff.

One of the best vacations we had in years! Our unit had everything we possibly needed: comfortable bed, crib for the baby, towels, toiletries, kitchen supplies, spices, bbq utensils, and even washer/dryer! It’s right next to the pool and a few minutes away from the beach. Our kids had a blast. Special thanks to the kindest and friendliest staff. From the first phone call till the last minutes of our stay the beautiful lady at the front desk (so sorry, I’m bad with names, Katlin?) made our vacation special, easy, and made us feel welcome. Thank you so much!!!

My son and I stayed here and absolutely loved it. The views are spectacular, it's quiet and has an off-the-beaten-path vibe about it that is exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend Castle Kaha Lani if that is what you are looking for. We will definitely be back and will stay longer! Great communication and friendly service, too! If youre not sure take my word for it. This place is a hidden gem

Office wasn't open after 5:00pm. No one called us back after calling the after hours number. We weren't able to get access to our room at 8:00 pm. Expedia wouldn't refund our rental fee.

Suite included full kitchen able to have breakfast and most dinners at suite cost savings. Centrally located no destination more than 45 minutes away. Walking distance to Ocean. Enjoyed our stay would reccomend

I was late for my 3pm check in, but they had it arranged with the security to get me where I needed to go and took care of the rest of the paperwork the next day as the office was closed by the time I got there. The security gave great suggestions of where to eat and where to go while I'm visiting the island. great service and great service

Oh, if was gorgeous. Walk the path to the swim beach or even the water right next to the property to see the sunrise. Absolutely perfect. We had a minor issue with the garbage disposal leaking and maintenance came and replaced it right away. Staff was wonderful. Would gladly go back.

The office help are blat-en liars, said they were totally booked. They weren't. When I asked about "park at your own risk" they said it was for the soccer field. Very unfriendly and unpleasant. If you are a farmer you will not mind the rosters waking you up at 2,4, and 6 in the morning. When you use the lanai the chickens come running. If you are in a lower unit, you will regret it because of the noise and footsteps.

This is a fantastic location to stay . We were oceanfront and greeted by the sound of waves crashing against the shore daily . There was no air conditioning however the ocean breeze cooled the unit adequately . Although the beachfront is not swimmable, an area of Lydgate Beach with life guard supervision is only a few minutes away by vehicle .

Beautifully landscaped property, easy check- in, ocean views are great, easy access to Lydgate beach, coconut market place and centered between north side and west side. Unit had everything needed for a comfortable stay! Would stay there again! Thank you

Waking up and seeing the ocean every morning was perfection. We had everything we needed to make this a lovely vacation. I did expect there to be bedding for our third person given we booked for three. We arrived after hours so couldn’t get anything extra on site. A quick trip to Walmart rectified things and the couch was comfy enough for our daughter. (Not a fold out). The location is a quick drive to supermarkets and food trucks. It is a good central location to get to anywhere in the island. We loved that it was quiet.

Location is perfect to access all of Kauai. View of ocean spectacular. Each unit is different. Units are in either 3 or 2 floor buildings. Ground floor sometimes has walk down access.

Property is very centrally located on the island-close to shops, etc (need a car) and within walking distance to a great beach and park. The property is very clean and well-maintained. This particular unit was on the ground floor and the annoying thing was roosters and chickens freely walk up to the porch (there are many in the property) and they are very loud early in the morning.

This property made it easy to relax on the beach, enjoy local activities and dining, and swim if desired. Very good location and amazing views! We would definitely love to book here again in the future.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is located right on the water and beautiful grounds with pool.

The best part of this resort is the location. It is close to airport, close to Safeway, close to ABC store and some shopping plazas. You can walk to the beach in 2 minutes, and it is a nice, clean and not crowded beach. you can watch sunrise there. it has full kitchen so you can just buy stuff from Safeway and cook your own meal. Just the units of this resort is individually owned. even it says newly renovated it might not applied to all unites or everything in the unit. the one we stayed in, there's no curtain/blind on the kitchen window, so whoever walk by can see the kitchen and dinning area. the blinds in bedroom are old, the cloths behind the blind is old too, and one window has a longer piece, the other one has a shorter one. We didn't realize the unit had a TV with broken screen and a broken leg on the day we arrived. we reported to the front office on the next morning, which was replaced on the day after. Rooster is the king of the island is not a joke. you will see quite a bit of chickens walking around the property. you better feed them if you sit outside to eat on the first floor, otherwise they will come for your food. If you don't mind hearing rooster's crow in the earning morning, then you can give this place a try.

This condo is centrally located . Kitchen is well appointed for all your meals. Very private and quiet. The view is unbelievable ! Received at check in from a beautiful native Hawaiian that is very proud of her heritage
