It’s a great bargain for this property. My little one enjoyed the playground and pool. However it was unfortunate that they have an elevator upgrade going on for a year. We wasted a lot of time waiting for elevators. We took the stairs which weren’t too bad, however I can’t imagine doing it if we were in the 20-30th floor 😬

We loved the whole experience, especially the view of the beach. Having the kitchen was a great opportunity to help keep meal expenses down and be prepared for the ahead. Would totally stay at the Aston again!! The only downfall was that the recreation area (pool, sauna, etc.) was being renovated during out stay but with the beach a block away it was that much of an issue.

Was during renovations so no pool. But the renovated rooms were nice and clean and the service was great from the front lobby staff. Very comfortable room Only issued I had was the couch seemed to be dirty from someone who had used too much tanning oil which left the couch stained

The Aston at Waikiki Banyan is well situated in Waikiki and allows all nearby attractions to be within walking distance. The staff are kind and attentive. The property also offers a pool, BBQ area, laundry facilities, and a spa/ sauna. Overall it was a good place to stay. The only downside is that the hotel interior is old and the lifts/ elevators are quite slow resulting in long queues during peak times.

The first room they put us in was old, dirty and cockroach infested. After two treatments didn’t work to remove the cockroach’s we asked for another room. The new room was more updated, but still fairly dirty, however never saw another cockroach, so was happy about that. Probably won’t stay there again.

Location is great. Everything is within walking distance. However the property is way overdue for renovation and under maintained. It takes more than 30 minutes just to get out of hotel during the busy hours (because not enough elevators). Be ready to live with millions of cockroaches (kitchen is dirty. Bathroom is clogged.)

Terrible Stay – Do Not Recommend Let’s start with the basics: the bed, sheets, and pillowcases were old, stained, and torn. The comforter and blankets were rough, full of holes, and clearly long past their usable life. We specifically booked a room with a pull-out couch, only to find a big sign that said “Do not pull out”—completely defeating the purpose. The carpet was filthy and clearly hadn’t been vacuumed; dirt and dust were visible all around. The room smelled unpleasant, and the pillows were disgusting—so stained that even the old pillowcases couldn’t hide it. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

First until we checked into was not very well maintained, fridge was not clean looked like black mould around the seal. No framing trim around the closet doors. Bedding very old and worn. Toilet did not work. Marijuana smell in hallway and into room. We were move to another room later that evening, not much better, bed and hide-a-bed need to be updated. I would discard them both. Bedding not any better either, holes in the sheets.

Parking was in the Makai Tower which was two elevators and across lobby. Besides the parking fee for $43 a nite. They charge a resort fee of $34 a nite. Resort fee includes local phone calls, towels, soap/shampoo, local newspaper, internet and dvd rental. Just Wow!!! Room old and dirty. In room oven handle glued back on, microwave above stove big sign on it says out of order. Carpet dirty. Needed to wear slipper in room. Wind blew all night whistling through the door. 4 elevators wait time average 10 mins.

Liked: location, front desk staff(mostly), view from room, pool and hot tubs OK for 3 star. Disliked: room was terrible. Carpet was disgusting, hasn't been painted in 30 years, kitchen/bathroom cabinets literally falling apart, shower curtain ripped, didn't clean floors or change sheets until we complained, dresser missing pull knobs, bedding likely 20 years old, beds very very hard, "full kitchen" yet not a simple frying pan, fridge had to be replaced as it was so loud you couldn't sleep, sliding bedroom doors broken(they were fixed after complaining), etc., etc. etc. Which makes it even worse is that after 24 hours the hotel sent a text asking how our stay was going and we said the room was dirty and very outdated. No response back. After 4 days hotel asked to rate our stay 1-5. We gave them a 1 and no response. What is the point of asking people their opinion if you are just going to ignore them? In summary, hotel perhaps is a 3 star, but room is a 0 star. BE AWARE. There are a lot of rooms available in this area, so we wouldn't be going back to this place.

We would go back. Its a great location and value. Because these are technically condos, some of the rooms are dated. Of the 3 rooms we, reserve this past week, 1 was fantastic. 1 was OK, and 1 was unacceptable. After 2 more rooms, we got one that was OK. The staff was extremely accommodating. Free beach towel service, parking was extremely easy to get in and out and onto the main highway.

Great location. We stayed on the 33 floor - be prepared to spend some time in the elevator! The room was MUCH older than the photos indicated - linoleum floor was so marked up it looked filthy on our arrival. There are no blackout curtains in the bedroom, only the main living area. Kitchen had limited tools and no flatware that is appropriate for the grilling area (rules indicated no glass) which was unfortunate. The beds are VERY hard. You will need to make or purchase ice. Amenity fee seems a bit outrageous for what you’re supposed to get for it. It felt like we were just paying an extra $25 a day for wifi, disappointing as wifi is usually included in most rentals these days and you don’t get much else for this fee. If you’re looking for a place to sleep, wash up and store your food while you spend most of the day out and about then this place is the right price.

I love the location. Front desk staff are excellent and friendly. Was able to check in early because the room was ready. The pool area was clean and very nice. the overall building was beautiful. I learned quickly every room is different owned by different owners. Our room was a dump. It needs a total rehab. Holes in the curtains, worn dirty carpet, ugly worn-out furniture. It took me two days to figure out the dual remotes to operate 1 tv. The fridge is on its last leg. 2 microwaves because the built in no longer worked. Huge gouges taken out the counter tops. Sometimes it took forever for a elevator. You had to go to the 5th floor to get beach towels in the other tower. When the guy checking or gal signing you into the pool on our tower could hand them out instead of handing you a clip board to sign in, tough job (eye roll) which was a pain. Other than that, I loved it there.

The view was fantastic, air con was cool in the living room but not the bedroom so I brought me a fan. It would have been better if had ceiling fan, Also the bathroom couldn’t shut so we had to use a towel so guests from other building couldn’t look in while dressing. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

We liked the amenities and enjoyed the coffee shop and mini mart downstairs too! The location of the hotel was perfect and our view from our balcony gave us the perfect view of both city and ocean.

Even though there was a parking discount system, when we checked in we were told there was no discount. Later, another friend of mine negotiated with them, and they gave us the discount, saying it was a special offer just for this time, with a sulky look on their face. The staff member was a skinny woman.

When I arrived at Aston At The Waikiki Banyan the staff was so nice and so helpful and so friendly. They checked me in quickly, when I got to my room everything in my room was amazing. Everything was so clean and it was everything I hoped for, the view was amazing. I didn’t want to leave when it was time to go, I would most definitely stay at the Aston at the Waikiki Banyan again

Room was dirty and bathroom door wasn’t closing . Phone wasn’t working, couldn’t call the front desk. TV wasn’t working had to be 2x. One if the key cards wasn’t working -wasn’t replaced even if requested. One of the front desk personnel was rude during fillip of reservation a week before arrival.

Me & my family stayed at this hotel for 12 days, I have to say I'm very pleased during the stay, this hotel location is great, close to beach, public transportation and zoo, the staff at hotel are very nice and helpful. The hotel room we booked was big with a kitchen, it's more like an apartment, we were able to cook our own food during the stay saved us a lot of money. During the stay, some of the elevator was under construction, during the peak hours had to wait in a line to get to the elevator, but the elevator was pretty fast. swimming pool & grill at 6th floor on rooftop, we only went there once, kinda crowded. The hotel room is also a little old, but pretty clean. queen bed is a little small, but everything works fine, the sound insulation of the floor is a bit poor, we could hear the noise from upstairs but doesn't matter at nighttime (It's quiet during nighttime). The room service was on time (every 3 days), but they clean more often on request. Overall, me and my family love this hotel, and enjoyed the great view from high floor balcony. For sure will consider book this hotel again next time visit Hawaii!

Honestly I was very pleased with my stay at this place. The room was very spacious, there was a whole kitchen/living room, and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I would say that one thing I didn’t like was the bed but that’s just me. Elevators did take a while sometimes but nothing too major. It was pretty clean and in a very nice neighborhood, the beach was like a 7 min walk.

The rooms were very spacious and very well laid out with a large kitchen and sitting area. There was a window A/C that i could properly regulate & the staff cleaned daily. We stayed 5 nights, the front desk staff were extremely nice especially Kelly who checked us in & her manager. Yes the furniture is dated but we were gone all day till the evening & it was so relaxing to come back to our nice room with a gorgeous view. The 1st time in Oahu we had stayed a block away at T.F. resort -very cramped room & over rated. This yr we stayed at the Aston at the Waikiki Banyon & were so happy we did. The property is soo close to Waikiki beach, everything was within walking distance, transportation nearby, if we hadn`t previously booked a Japan trip 2025 we`d be staying here again!

The property is located with in 5 minutes walk to the beach restaurants and pick up location for any traveling touring. Friendly staff the pool was super clean and the grills and picnic area is a plus to bbq after a long day swimming our room had a kitchen perfect for families who are looking to save from dining out.

We have stayed at the Waikiki Banyan resort previously and loved the property, so we chose to stay there again. We were not disappointed! The elevators take forever, but that is the only downside. The rooms are large and comfortable, walking distance to the beach (6 mins!), full kitchen so we saved some money. We have nothing but good things to say! Waikiki Banyan is our home when we visit Honolulu and always will be.

Property is closer to the Diamond Head & a bit remote from main WAikiki tourist area. Room rate is reasonable for budget traveler . Hotel has seen its age & room accommodation are old but is clean . Front desk are friendly & efficient . Nice size swimming pool . Coin operate BBQ grill rental is a unique feature at $2.00 an hour !

The property was good even though kinda dated and great to have a full kitchen. In comparison to others hotels a good value. the coffee shop and mini mart were good to have. The first room they gave us was so old it looked like it was never updated. the carpet was old dirty and smelled. No amount of cleaning would make it acceptable. when we went to the front desk to let them know, they were very helpful at finding us a room that was a similar layout but updated and clean. no concierge in this hotel. not a big deal for us. overall we enjoyed our stayed once we were settled in.
