The rooms were great, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and answered all our questions. But the condition of the hotel as a whole was disappointing. The hotel bar (that they advertise as being open) was closed and used for storing bags. The "rooftop terrace" was a couple of rusty outdoor chairs and looked like it hadn't been maintained for a while. The biggest bummer was that the buildings HVAC system was either not working or had never been installed. The hallways and elevators were about 85 degrees. The gym and basement areas were probably closer to 90 degrees. Although we were out in the city most of the day the conditions in the hotel were really disappointing and I probably wouldn't pay to stay there again.

Overall I enjoyed my stay! SoHo 54 is not a notably fancy hotel and the ‘bar’ onsite is inoperable/used as a storage location for guest luggage, though this was a plus since the room wasn’t ready when we arrived. Staff were friendly and personal, and I loved that there are unlimited water bottles for grabs at the front. The room was plain and a little dated, but clean and a good place to rest when needed. There’s a Duane Reade near by and the subway is under a 5 minute walk, both extremely convenient! 4/5

One working elevator for a property with this many rooms is not enough. We waited 33 minutes for an elevator on the forth floor with no air conditioning on the right halfway. Many people waited and were frustrated.

Staff was very friendly and we got checked in quickly. Typical manhattan hotel, dated and smaller rooms. Bonus is they have king sized beds and there’s some space to put your stuff away so you don’t need to keep opening your suitcase. Furniture in room could be reduced some to create more space. AC was comfortable and easy to adjust. Overall we slept well and weren’t in the room much, so it met our needs. They didn’t have a mini fridge unless you request, luckily they did have this available for us. WiFi was good enough to do some work.

The area is perfect for walkability. It is close to Canal/Tunnel so the traffic during rush hour makes it busy and noisy. Close to lots of restaurants and shops. Very easy to explore SOHO, Tribeca, West Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and surroundings by foot. Check in was easy and they let me do early check in. The room was a usual size for NYC. Bathroom was clean, room was clean but outdated. The lighting was not great and the heating was hit or miss. If i turned it off then the room was cold but if i turned it on even at 65 the room got too hot. There is free water, coffee, and tea. No bar, restaurant, or breakfast but plenty of places nearby. Gym was very bare bones but had all the basics. Overall, good for a 3 star hotel as the price was good for the location and the room size. You dont go to that area to stay in your room anyway!

Black mold on the ceiling in the bedroom... paint peeling from a water leak above the bed... the shelf in the bathroom was hanging off... i have pictures to prove all.... Extremely disappointed

Some of the front desk employees were friendly, which is the only reason this place gets a second star. My room smelled like urine, it was disgusting. The carpet felt wet and the bathroom had black mold. The WiFi doesn’t work at all. Couldn’t even get an email to load.

Really dirty room, dirty tissues in the floor and behind the night stand. I accidentally stained the top sheet eating dinner, they cleaned my room and it was still there. Bathroom was not clean, windows etc also not clean. The deadbolt did not work when I arrived and the latch lock was also removed. Very weird vibes, do not stay here especially as a solo female traveler. Could not wait for my trip to end here.

Great stay! The hotel was clean, and housekeeping went above and beyond—adjusting their schedule for us, refreshing everything daily, and keeping the room spotless. The location is safe and very walkable to shops, restaurants, and the subway. Only minor downside was needing to go downstairs to warm food, but overall we really liked it and would stay again.

We stayed here for 4 days and honestly, for the price, the location can’t be beat—right next to two subway stations and within walking distance to great shopping and food spots. Just a heads-up if you’re on the street side like we were: it can get pretty noisy with traffic and honking. The room was decent—just the right size for two people. The staff were super nice and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a solid choice if you want to be in the middle of everything without breaking the bank. P.S. Wish there’s 3 1/2 stars available.😅

Very good. Staff was friendly and the rooms in pretty good shape for a NY stay. That said, it is right at the entrance to Holland tunnel so between 6-12pm, traffic is backed up and loud with constant honking and people playing loud music, audible even when all windows are closed.

Property is in a great location. Close to everything. Photos of rooms are not what you get. Booked a room with SoHo view and instead had a back of a building looking at HVAC system. Couldn't see anything SoHo. Room didn't have a mini fridge but staff did come through to deliver one to room

The hotel is a great value for the money—we’d definitely stay here again. Rates are reasonable, and our room was spacious with a comfortable king-size bed. We appreciated having full control over the heating and cooling. The Tribeca King room offered a great view, though there was no mini fridge in the room. However, complimentary water is available in the lobby, along with coffee and hot chocolate just off the lobby. There’s also a microwave in that area. The gym is a nice bonus.

This block of Watts St. is essentially a ramp to the Holland Tunnel, so there is persistent honking whenever the tunnel backs up. During our stay this was midnight to 1 am, and 6 to 7 am or so. It was mildly annoying but by NYC standards not that bad. The room was very dated, with faded fabrics and dings in the furniture, but it was clean enough. A good shower, comfortable bed, staff pleasant and accommodating. Location is two blocks from the subway (A, C, and 1 trains) near coffee shops and restaurants, Hudson River Park, and great walking access to Soho, Tribeca, Greenwich Village, the financial district, Brooklyn Bridge, and the Battery. For the price, we were quite happy with our stay.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, hardly noticed the sound of the street (stayed on the 3rd floor). Parking was off-site and just a couple blocks walk. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in that area for a decent price. Free water was provided.

Great place to stay and always had hot coffee if you wanted a cup. They allowed me to have a late check out of 12 PM. They also held onto your bag so you can go and do some stuff for the day and come back and get your bags before heading out of the city. Worked out really good.

The old man with glasses at front desk that’s works at midnight was very rude towards us and had no patiences when it came to questions. It was our first time at nyc and that hotel, and we really wanted to be greeted kindly, but that wasn’t the case. Other than that, the employees from the front desk that work in the morning and afternoon were super sweet and patient.

The hotel is conveniently located and nearby a few subway stations which makes navigating the city pretty easy. There are also a lot of nice and trendy restaurants at a walking distance. The staff is friendly and accommodating; we've stayed at this hotel several times and they always try to have our room ready way before check in time since our flights tend to land pretty early in the morning. The hotel itself could use a facelift, but for the location, price and convenience, it's a solid choice.

Room in poor condition. Badly needs renovation. Wallpaper falling off, stains on wall and carpet, loose hooks and towel hangers. But staff was nice and accommodating and cleaning staff did a super professional job. Fewer stars because it really wasn't cheap and I expected better condition for the price.

Nice room in a great location. Staff is very friendly. Short walks to entertainment (comedy cellar), food, shopping, and close subway stations make it super easy to get anywhere in Manhattan in 20 minutes or less. A little congested on Watts does cause a fair amount of traffic noise at night until about 11 pm.

The hotel's a bit old, but still in pretty good condition. Staff was nice and held my room when I couldn't check in until the next day. Close to the red & blue lines so easy to get around. The specific location isn't great. Traffic for the holland tunnel piles up every afternoon right in front of the hotel with lots of honking. Not a ton to do right around the hotel. But easy subway to the rest of NY.

The property was clean and well kept. The staff was amazing and very helpful. For NYC the parking garage was near by and decently priced. Many dining options near by. Quick walk to subway red line which made going uptown easy.

The staff is great 👍! I wish there were more breakfast options in the morning. The building has a nice rooftop and gym. The rooms and hallways are nice, but there needs to be an upgrade to fit the area and the time period. The decor is outdated and can maybe use some fresh paint. But other than that my overall stay was nice, I stay often. And oh, almost forgot. Glad that you guys give out water, but let’s do Spring water instead of purified, trust me, you’ll thank me later 😉.

The location was fantastic! Right in the heart of SoHo, it was very convenient to shop and dine. The room and the bathroom was spacious. But the sliding door of the bathroom was difficult to close and the sink drain was blocked sometimes. The bed was too soft which was not good to my back. It was nice they provided complimentary drinks and a cozy place for guests to bring foods to eat. There was no breakfast to offer, which I didn’t mind since there were plenty of diners and cafés around the hotel. The Wi-Fi was not very satisfying. Sometimes I couldn’t access to it, which was very very inconvenient to me. The staffs were OK, but the lady who welcomed us didn’t make us feel welcomed.

I liked the area and how it was not congested with people. The view was great and close to many places. It did not have a refrigerator and microwave which would have been nice to have. It also says there is a bar but it was closed due to owner change. A continental breakfast would have been good too. Just coffee/tea available. Staff was friendly.

This hotel is pretty simple but with nice rooms free bottled water and in a great neighborhood. 1 block to all west side trains and and east walk to thousands of restaurants in soho and the west village. I’m a New Yorker who moved to LA and I’ll stay here from now on. It’s not fancy but it’s clean and nice and a great value for the money. They give you free bottled water.

The room was small but worked fine as we weren’t in the room often. They provide bottles of water at all times of day which is great when walking all day in NYC. My only issue was the photos of a large complimentary breakfast spread are inaccurate. There is no breakfast, only coffee and tea. Ice machine is in the basement as the one on our floor didn’t work
