Fairfield by Marriott Medford Long Island

I chose this hotel because one of the amenities listed was an airport shuttle. However, when I checked in, I was informed that they did not have an airport shuttle, and that the hotel always recommend that customers call ahead to make sure shuttle service is available. Obviously, this doesn't make any sense. It is listed on the website that airport shuttle is an amenity of this hotel. This is false advertisement!!!

Not enough parking spaces

We were not made aware of construction at the hotelWhen the booking was made, nor that the gym and pool were not available due to the construction.

There was a lot of renovation, the fitness room was very tiny—barely enough room for two people to use. The hotel had no washer and dryer and the ice machine on the 2nd floor was out of service. The front desk staff were very nice and welcoming, however, the computer systems weee terrible.

The hotel pool is only open noon-9, we were in town for a baseball tournament so our only swim options were early in the morning or late, so our ability to swim was limited. You also need to go to the front desk for a pool key and sign waivers which was odd and inconvenient. Need to use the lobby restroom? Again you'll need to get a key from the front desk. They treat people like elementary school kids. As for the room, water stains on the ceiling of our 2nd floor (of 3) room, cracked shower tiles, unpleasant odor upon check in when you enter the room. We've stayed at one other hotel in the area and only choose this one for the hot tub, we will be avoiding this hotel for future stays.

Very nice , clean. Food quality was mediocre, and unfortunately, they gave key to my room to someone during the night while I was still there sleeping ( said it mistaken for a guest at a neighboring motel - unbelievable) Guessing they were overbooked, first two nights had no parking available. Was told to park in entrance by the curb and grass. Hotel was very clean and reasonable in price.

The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast buffet. Inviting dining area and lobby. The room was comfortable and well maintained.

While the staff was fine and it had a superficial face-lift, they obviously didn't go deep enough. I not only received flea bites but it also affected my luggage. I ended up have exterminate my home. I won't recommend this place if my life depended on it.

This property was noisy and dusty because it was under construction. I selected this hotel because there was a pool but it had a film of construction dust and severely over chlorinated. There are no closets in the room. No laundry facilities and the breakfast selections were limited to powdered eggs and overcooked sausages. We should not have paid so much for a property like that.

I found two live bugs which I reported to the front desk

The room in general was clean but at night we found 5 roaches in our room and one was on the bed

Very nice, clean updated hotel close to the highway for easy access to fun locations. The room was large and very clean. The bed was nice after a long day. We would stay here again. Hotel desk staff very friendly.

The person who checked us in was fantastic!! (Can’t remember his name) He was there 2 of the afternoons we were there and was great all interactions we had. Nice hotel and very clean and comfortable

The staff is wonderful! The room was clean. This particular hotel NEEDS to be updated. The carpet is frayed in spots and old. A bit of a musty smell. Not enough to make me leave. The price does not compare for a equal Holiday in in Centereach NY. That Holiday Inn is much nicer same price. I expected equal.

The place was clean and the bed was comfortable but as an experienced traveler, some things to call out and deduct for: 1. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and drained slowly. Anyone cleaning that room would have to use the sink and would know that. Unacceptable for it to be left that way unaddressed. 2. The AC isn’t modern central air, it’s a floor mounted unit. It did effectively cool the room but the person on that side of the bed will be disproportionately cold. It was also very loud. 3. The refrigerator in the room was very loud. At first glance, I was impressed that they had such a large fridge in the room but bigger was not better. 4. Slow check-in process and non-working contactless check in. I downloaded the Marriot Bonvoy app and logged into my membership so I could check in online and get digital key. Neither option was available. Also, there was one person working the desk on a holiday weekend so it took 20 minutes or so to get checked in. 5. Complimentary breakfast was ok, but not great. There’s only 1 waffle machine that’s just not enough to support even a small number of guests, salt and pepper was available but only if you ask, there were no hash browns/potatoes, or bacon offered, and very limited fruit options. 1 staffer tried to maintain the buffet while the other (who could not even answer simple questions) stood and watched. New carpets in the hall and a large TV in a room that you can’t brush your teeth or wash your ha

Heater in room made horrible noise the entire night. Barely slept. Coldest night in NY for the year and it was necessary to leave the heater on and just try and deal with it rather than freeze.

The Room I stayed in every time the heat would come on it was so loud. It was so loud couldn’t hear the tv until it was on max volume & it definitely disrupted my sleep.

Everything was fine except for the WIFI. It was very slow.

Staff was friendly and hard working. Condition was average, could hear the customer above pacing the floor every morning at 6 a.m. waking us up. Room was always warm and humid, had to open the window slightly as comfort control wasn’t working properly. Lighting in bathroom sink area was inadequate. Bed was not comfortable and pillows quite thin.

The hotel was finishing up their renovation. In our room the phone was not connected and the tv was not connecting so we had blurry reception. Otherwise it was good.

Very good quality for the price, room are on the smaller side.

Rooms are quite small in size ,dark ,insufficient light ,lack of minimum requirement.It’s not worth to pay how much they charge when compared to the facilities

The desk staff is excellent!

The manager Katarina was unprofessional rude and just plain mean. Not the first time I’ve dealt with this nightmare of a woman. If her boss knew what a tyrant she portrays herself as at this hotel they would be shocked to say the least. One of the nastiest human beings I’ve ever encountered. Lord help anyone who has to interact with this sorry excuse for a human

Staff was super friendly and very accommodating!

The staff member at the front desk who was there all 3 days was very friendly, helpful and went above and beyond.

The staff was absolutely terrible and rude! I will never be back ! I called Marriot and opened a report! They were VERY rude.

Bright entry. Clean and comfortable seating area. Customer friendly, we arrived before check-in time and the staff accommodated us. We had a funeral to attend and we appreciated this.

The Fairfield Inn in Medford NY. is perhaps the best hotel option on Long Island. Close to 495. Dining in Patchogue is a short drive away. Islaine at the front desk is always friendly and efficient.

This property was adequate for our needs but the General Manager was rude, disrespectful and overall unpleasant to deal with. This cause my stay to be an unpleasant one.

The staff was nice and accommodating. We arrived early,and they had our room ready for us.

The staff was friendly and professional. Very good hotel for the price. They have a good breakfast bar as well. It was a good central location for our needs and a quick ride to the train station. We will stay again when on eastern Long Island.

Location is close to the Long Island Expressway. Room is very nice; bathroom is spacious. Indoor pool is small but it was fine for us because there was no one else in it while we were there. A few cons - parking was insufficient when we stayed and there were no spots available. The room was quite warm and the thermostat was not user friendly to lower by a few degrees. The TV didn't work. Engineering came to our room and couldn't fix it and offered to switch rooms instead. It was late and our kids didn't want to move. No offer of compensation was made when addressed with the staff. Lastly, while buffet was complimentary, the eggs (both the scrambled and hard-boiled) were rubbery.

It was peaceful and quiet. Close to everything we needed and where we needed to be.

I was expecting something more, but for one night it was fine. The breakfast was fine.

What I liked the most was the customer service, they were very polite and helped with any questions. Also at the breakfast they were welcoming and clean and helped you if you needed any help. I highly recommend.

It’s fully redone inside new everything!!! Our room was clean and comfortable!!!! The breakfast was ok if you just want a snack like otherwise I’d go somewhere else

Quiet, clean and very friendly staff. Coffee is always available and fresh. Breakfast is also very good.

Hotel staff went above and beyond, very approachable, good attitude and friendly. Breakfast was hot and plenty of choices. I even had an opportunity to have a nice chat with the lady in charge of the breakfast and directed us to near by attractions for the family. The only thing I didn’t like was that there were not enough parking spots available both nights we spent there. Over all, I liked it a lot. Definitely will come back again.
