Beautiful indoor outdoor grounds and facilities. Very serene and pleasant. Has multiple pools but no jacuzzi. Has private beach which is nice. Has one paddle board and couple of single and double canoes.

Amazing place to stay. Pool is awesome. Great food and service. Well worth the price. Absolutely stay here! Only thing. Not the hotels fault. Beach is huge but the water isn’t clear. This is an amazing location and the pool area is perfect. Staff is super nice. Rental cars there. Marina. View of islands. Great service.

Wonderful hotel on the beach with sprawling pools (swim up bar included, could benefit from a slide or two- then would be perfect for families) and multiple dining options. The hotel and rooms are immaculate and the staff is super friendly. The beach is safe for swimming and has shade options but isn't the most beautiful- sand is fine but rocky in places and could benefit from lounges and umbrellas. The view, however, is incredible, with the offshore island keeping the bay safe and calm. Also a huge benefit that you can walk to the nearby marina shopping area with restaurants and stores and a wonderful cafe/dessert place. Overall a wonderful stay.

Magnificent property! Huge wrap around pool, waterfalls all around the property, beautifully landscaped grounds from the entrance and throughout. Several dining options including a huge breakfast buffet. Valet parking, spa, golf — all the amenities and top notch service. Would definitely stay there again.

This place was super nice. Getting transportation outside the area can be a real pain. Staff is nice but if you want to try an outside property for diner or beach your on your own. Super difficult using spa as well. Everything needs to be pre booked and not flexible. People get up in morning and horde chairs as well. That’s annoying.

From check in you are met with friendly staff. The resort is very clean and nice. Room was amazing with the walk up pool. Very quiet at the room. The restaurants on site were amazing and tasty. Pools on site are very nice. Walking the beach at sunrise and sunset is a must. The adventure park the hotel recommends is a must as well.

This was our second stop in Costa Rica. The resort is very comfortable and clearly tailored for American visitors. While you don’t quite get the authentic Costa Rican vibe, everything is well-organised and convenient. We’re from Europe, so the atmosphere felt a bit different to us. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. Our biggest issue was with the kids’ club. It’s not really a traditional kids’ club – they offer kids’ activities three or four times a day, each lasting around 30 minutes. To be clear, I wasn’t looking to leave my daughter there all day, but it was a bit frustrating that we constantly had to check when the activity ended. Once, the staff member even walked her back to us by hand after the session went a bit over time – my husband had stepped away to take a quick call as the 30 minutes had already passed. It felt a bit awkward. That said, the kids’ club staff were lovely. I believe they were simply following the guidelines set by management.

Went on a family vacation at Christmas. Overall, the facility was 4 star as advertised - great pool and right on the beach as advertised. The pool was cool as it was like a winding river around the area with lots of areas to sit and lounge with swim up bar and lots of servers - never an issue getting a drink. They also had activities like yoga and pool aerobics. The breakfast was really good - the bar was good - restaurants were ok for dinner, but you can easily walk to the marina where there are more choices for dinner. Only complaint I would have is that there isnt enough umbrellas for the pool and they only had 1 stand up paddle board and 2 sea kayaks for the entire facility so its a bit of a farce saying its included as part of the resort fees as they were booking them 4 days out - the owner should step it up and buy some more as the beach cove is much calmer than Jaco and great for that kind of activity. Also, its about a 10-15 drive to Jaco where the surfing is great and other activities - otherwise - great stay - would recommend.

Beautiful property! We stayed in one of the swim up rooms which was lovely. The staff and the service was amazing! We loved the made to order omekets at the breakfast buffet.We took a nice yoga class on the beach. The only negatives were the tennis courts need to be resurfaced and the paddle boards were for children. They were too small for us to stand up on.

For the price, it's a noisy room, you can clearly hear conversations in the next room because of a connecting door. The bathroom does not have extraction, so aromas and steam are share in the room easy as it has barn doors... so privacy is not the best either. The glass doors leading to the pool are stuck, almost impossible to slide... and found food leftovers in the room as I arrived. Late checking was weird too, a few minutes past 4pm is too late.

Property is OLD and needs lot of work. Paid the price like St. Regis or Ritz BUT the property is 3 star only. Bed sheet dirty, rooms conditions poor. At the Cabana at Pool side Margarita pitcher has 10-15 ants in the pitcher. Would not recommend this property at such a high price. Amenities are older but enough. Beach is not in the property and really bad. Hotels are not allowed to have private beach in Costa Rica. On the good side, breakfast was excellent. Staff is very nice and friendly. Ample amenities. DO NOT TRAVEL at peak time in this property. NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

Como siempre muy bien atendidos por los botones, esta vez principalmente por Sergio. El CHECK in un poco lento, pero muy amable el trato. Limpieza de la habitación impecable. Pero la gaveta de la mesa de noche y la puerta de vidrio bastante trabadas. En cuanto al bufete de desayuno muy bien atendidos por María Fernanda y Kassandra, En los restaurantes y bares siempre muy bien atendidos, esta vez felicito a Henry, Alvaro y Johan (este último en entrenamiento). En mi caso yo soy músico y me encanta tocar piano y es bastante frustrante que el piano no sirva. Siendo este instrumento insignia de la marca Marriot (el piano de Belén también muy deteriorado). Deseo que en el futuro corrijan este fallo.

We were given a room with extremely moldy & musty smell. Then exchanged with a disabilities room rather than same type. No shower enclosure, water goes everywhere when showering. There are no hooks in bathrooms for towels, bathing suits for drying. Shower water temp. was not hot, but minimally lukewarm. Had 2 blackout power outages in the evening, then AC broke. Maint. came and tried to repair although was not fixed, had to call again 5 hours later. 2nd Maint. man repaired but also had to come back 1 1/2 hours later for 3rd repair. Prices were expected to be higher than normal, although the restaurants are over-priced for portion size and quality even for a resort of this size. The resort has signs posted that water is drinkable and staff advises there is no need to purchase bottle water. The Restaurant 18 & Greene was extremely pricey, we asked for water and charged for bottled water that was not requested. My husband endured food poisoning for 5 hrs. from the Sea Bass that was consumed at this Restaurant. Management was minimally concerned when reported. The Resort is gorgeous, very well landscaped & maintained. Hundreds of parrots, pairs of Toucan's and Macaws. The pool is exceptionally clean & maintained. Electronic info. in lobby is Spanish & English but rotates too quickly. The Free Ecotour is exceptional with guide Chris. Staff is friendly, but stiff & structured to template responses. Lack of ability for easy, less costly, off-site options influenced rating.

Great features. The water is not typical of the crystal blue Caribbean. My Veranda was smaller than the photo or what I expected. No seating. The prices on the resort are sky high compared to the nearest town Jaco. Room decor was on point. Great pool, nice deal on cabana, all day with pitcher of Mariquita and waiter service was the bomb. I will go back but spend more time in town.

Great resort right on the ocean near many activities and the port for sport fishing. The staff, the pool, the breakfast and the views are amazing. There were only two cons that bothered me during my stay. 1.The hallways are noisy and echo voices and door which slam loudly due to strong closing mechanisms. So if sleeping in is your thing this will be a annoyance to you. 2. The beds are very hard and the pillows lack filling. So if you’re a side sleeper or like plush beds this may be a challenge for you. You’re going to want extra pillows.

We enjoyed our time there but had some trouble with two things. The internet was unreliable in our room and there was no smart tv with access to streaming services the other is they painted the doors in the hallway with an oil based paint during the day and our room had a very strong smell of paint the rest of our stay. The room itself was comfortable fir our family if 4. The little disc was made up into a twin size bed. The pools really are amazing. Don’t miss the free iguana tour! We saw amazing wildlife- including sloths, toucans and macaws.

For the price, it's a noisy room, you can clearly hear conversations in the next room because of a connecting door. The bathroom does not have extraction, so aromas and steam are share in the room easy as it has barn doors... so privacy is not the best either. The glass doors leading to the pool are stuck, almost impossible to slide... and found food leftovers in the room as I arrived. Late checking was weird too, a few minutes past 4pm is too late.

It’s a beautiful place, but the trip started with our party of 6 booked on Expedia being told that we reserved rooms that were for adults only and we had 2 kids. The booking was accurate and I did confirm 2 children, and only at check-in were we informed it was not OK. They had to cancel one of our pool side rooms and put us upstairs in a standard king room, and I was separated from my family. This was an error on Expedia’s side, as the booking was confirmed and allowed with our 2 children. The hotel was gracious and cancelled one room and replaced it at the lower rate, and made an exception for our one almost-adult aged child. The restaurants were clean, staff was very kind and attentive, and the rooms were Marriott quality. The “sofa bed” in the standard king room was a twin sized couch, not a pull-out, and we had to request extra blankets and pillows since there were none that came in the room as standard. There is no hot tub, which would have been nice during the cool evenings (pools close at 11pm, but it rained every night so we didn’t get to enjoy). The bugs come out at night, and will eat you alive if you venture to the beach or away from the main grounds after sunset. The resort is not close to town, but we had a car and decided to go eat at a place called Koko’s on the beach which was delicious and reasonably priced since there is no ocean side dining anywhere at the resort. Overall, I was looking for more of a cultural experience which was not what we got. 3/5 stars

Never had hot water in the shower. TVs are outdated and horrible reception and sound. Mounted crooked so that was strange. The place is surrounded by beauty but the Marriot is a Marriot. Overpriced for Costa Rica. You can stay at much nicer places for half the cost. It’s very secure and safe though if that’s what you need.

We were given a room with extremely moldy & musty smell. Then exchanged with a disabilities room rather than same type. No shower enclosure, water goes everywhere when showering. There are no hooks in bathrooms for towels, bathing suits for drying. Shower water temp. was not hot, but minimally lukewarm. Had 2 blackout power outages in the evening, then AC broke. Maint. came and tried to repair although was not fixed, had to call again 5 hours later. 2nd Maint. man repaired but also had to come back 1 1/2 hours later for 3rd repair. Prices were expected to be higher than normal, although the restaurants are over-priced for portion size and quality even for a resort of this size. The resort has signs posted that water is drinkable and staff advises there is no need to purchase bottle water. The Restaurant 18 & Greene was extremely pricey, we asked for water and charged for bottled water that was not requested. My husband endured food poisoning for 5 hrs. from the Sea Bass that was consumed at this Restaurant. Management was minimally concerned when reported. The Resort is gorgeous, very well landscaped & maintained. Hundreds of parrots, pairs of Toucan's and Macaws. The pool is exceptionally clean & maintained. Electronic info. in lobby is Spanish & English but rotates too quickly. The Free Ecotour is exceptional with guide Chris. Staff is friendly, but stiff & structured to template responses. Lack of ability for easy, less costly, off-site options influenced rating.

I felt like this property was a rip off from beginning to end. Everything is over priced and all of the taxes, resort fees, service fees, incidental fees, ad infinitum throughout the stay was ridiculous. All of the incidental charges were not explained at check in until my CC was charged. When asked to speak to a supervisor her response was "What do you want? Everything for free?" Very poor customer service and staff training. Would not go back.

Air conditioning was hot in the room. We called every day to let them know. They promised they would send someone to fix it and that manager would call us. The manager never called. They didn’t really show much care for us being hot. They did not offer to change our room. They were very indifferent about it. When I left I told everything to the manager. She apologized and was indifferent again. We gave up !

This was our second stop in Costa Rica. The resort is very comfortable and clearly tailored for American visitors. While you don’t quite get the authentic Costa Rican vibe, everything is well-organised and convenient. We’re from Europe, so the atmosphere felt a bit different to us. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. Our biggest issue was with the kids’ club. It’s not really a traditional kids’ club – they offer kids’ activities three or four times a day, each lasting around 30 minutes. To be clear, I wasn’t looking to leave my daughter there all day, but it was a bit frustrating that we constantly had to check when the activity ended. Once, the staff member even walked her back to us by hand after the session went a bit over time – my husband had stepped away to take a quick call as the 30 minutes had already passed. It felt a bit awkward. That said, the kids’ club staff were lovely. I believe they were simply following the guidelines set by management.

Three main items of concern. Let me commence with the fact that this is my 6th visit to this property since 2011 and somewhat disappointing. Pool is in desperate need of renovation. As you swim, you will encounter missing concrete, calcium stained tiles, and general disrepair. Room AC is set to save energy/money...if you don't get staff to change background min/max settings the unit will never really get cool (can only get to these if you know how), they will have you in a warm room and hope you don't complain. Encountered two restaurant staff on two different days which were less than friendly and seemed "put out" to do their job. Also watch out for the timeshare sales folks, they call themselves "concierge" but when I asked them to perform customary concierge functions they explained they don't do that. Instead they try to convince you to hear a "presentation" and don't want to take "not interested" as an answer. All else was good.

Les chambres sont correctes et l’hôtel est agréable et joliment décoré. Cependant, la plage est peu plaisante, notamment à cause de fortes odeurs de kérosène qui empêchent réellement d’en profiter. Une fois de plus, nous savons que le service n’est pas le point fort du Costa Rica, mais dans un établissement de cette catégorie, on attend un niveau irréprochable. Enfin, concernant la restauration, nous avons consommé trois boissons sans alcool au bar de la piscine, puis pris des snacks (burgers et sandwichs), et le soir trois plats sans boisson ni alcool. Wonderful hotel on the beach with sprawling pools (swim up bar included, could benefit from a slide or two- then would be perfect for families) and multiple dining options. The hotel and rooms are immaculate and the staff is super friendly. The beach is safe for swimming and has shade options but isn't the most beautiful- sand is fine but rocky in places and could benefit from lounges and umbrellas. The view, however, is incredible, with the offshore island keeping the bay safe and calm. Also a huge benefit that you can walk to the nearby marina shopping area with restaurants and stores and a wonderful cafe/dessert place. Overall a wonderful stay.

The Los Sueños Marriott was the perfect location for my wife and I. The staff treated us like family, the rooms were comfortable and conveniently located. Several restaurant options gave us a variety of meals in addition to restaurants at the marina and on the beach. The swimming pool is huge with channels to explore; the beach is steps away with warm Costa Rican Pacific Ocean great for swimming. Los Sueños/Playa Herradura is a great home base for exploring Carara National Park, Manuel Antonio National Park, Marino Balleno National Park and Rainmaker platforms, waterfalls and pools. One additional note - no need to travel in search of scarlet Macaws, they are on the Marriott grounds! Los Sueños Marriott is now our go to resort when staying in Costa Rica.

The swimming pool is huge with channels to explore; the beach is steps away with warm Costa Rican Pacific Ocean great for swimming. Los Sueños/Playa Herradura is a great home base for exploring Carara National Park, Manuel Antonio National Park, Marino Balleno National Park and Rainmaker platforms, waterfalls and pools. One additional note - no need to travel in search of scarlet Macaws, they are on the Marriott grounds! Los Sueños Marriott is now our go to resort when staying in Costa Rica.

Highly recommend this wonderful hotel. The staff is so kind and efficient and so helpful. While it is not the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica, it is great to walk along and the waves are not too big.

Went on a family vacation at Christmas. Overall, the facility was 4 star as advertised - great pool and right on the beach as advertised. The pool was cool as it was like a winding river around the area with lots of areas to sit and lounge with swim up bar and lots of servers - never an issue getting a drink. They also had activities like yoga and pool aerobics. The breakfast was really good - the bar was good - restaurants were ok for dinner, but you can easily walk to the marina where there are more choices for dinner. Only complaint I would have is that there isnt enough umbrellas for the pool and they only had 1 stand up paddle board and 2 sea kayaks for the entire facility so its a bit of a farce saying its included as part of the resort fees as they were booking them 4 days out - the owner should step it up and buy some more as the beach cove is much calmer than Jaco and great for that kind of activity. Also, its about a 10-15 drive to Jaco where the surfing is great and other activities - otherwise - great stay - would recommend.

Magnificent property! Huge wrap around pool, waterfalls all around the property, beautifully landscaped grounds from the entrance and throughout. Several dining options including a huge breakfast buffet. Valet parking, spa, golf — all the amenities and top notch service. Would definitely stay there again.

Bad staff both at reception and also at dining at ocho restaurant . The receptionist was very rude and was resultant to answer questions , at dining our orders were forgotten a couple of times , we left without getting what we had been waiting for , with no concern shown by the waiter . There are excellent properties at half the price around the area , don't waste your time going there

We were given a room with extremely moldy & musty smell. Then exchanged with a disabilities room rather than same type. No shower enclosure, water goes everywhere when showering. There are no hooks in bathrooms for towels, bathing suits for drying. Shower water temp. was not hot, but minimally lukewarm. Had 2 blackout power outages in the evening, then AC broke. Maint. came and tried to repair although was not fixed, had to call again 5 hours later. 2nd Maint. man repaired but also had to come back 1 1/2 hours later for 3rd repair. Prices were expected to be higher than normal, although the restaurants are over-priced for portion size and quality even for a resort of this size. The resort has signs posted that water is drinkable and staff advises there is no need to purchase bottle water. The Restaurant 18 & Greene was extremely pricey, we asked for water and charged for bottled water that was not requested. My husband endured food poisoning for 5 hrs. from the Sea Bass that was consumed at this Restaurant. Management was minimally concerned when reported. The Resort is gorgeous, very well landscaped & maintained. Hundreds of parrots, pairs of Toucan's and Macaws. The pool is exceptionally clean & maintained. Electronic info. in lobby is Spanish & English but rotates too quickly. The Free Ecotour is exceptional with guide Chris. Staff is friendly, but stiff & structured to template responses. Lack of ability for easy, less costly, off-site options influenced rating.
