The outside of the property, the grass wasn’t cut. The weeds were overgrown look like crap.

All vending machines were down. Ice machine was down 1st and third floors. Blankets for beds were terrible. Card keys had to reset 3 times for doors. Needs a pamphlet suggestions where to go and eat and other attractions around. Asked how many people where is there a fireworks display nobody knew anything. Very sad place. Desolate. Very terrible 3 day vacation.

Full Breakfast was great. Loved having laundry onsite. Beds were comfortable. Property could use an update, ice machine and vending on my floor were broken. Worth the money!

No landscaping done what so ever. The outside trash can was completely over flowing with trash for 2days, and still not emptied when we left. Active leak in lobby with bucket sitting in middle of floor in lobby. ALL ice machines out of order. Gutters hanging off on end of building.

This facility has seen better days. Older facilities can still be kept clean, but this one was not. Mold on ceiling, dirty HVAC unit, melted hair dryer, hairs on the sheets, strange odors…. Outside, it looks like no one does any maintenance on the vegetation.

TV, road to hotel was questionable; only one towel in the room; ice machine and coke machine was out of order. No other conveniences services in the area.

This place is located across from a Fed penitentiary off of a side road way off the high way. The sign was shattered so if you didn’t see it in one direction you would probably miss it. I actually thought the place was abandoned by the look of the outside. The landscaping hadn’t been trimmed or mowed in months. If it wasn’t for the HW trucks in the parking lot I probably would not had stayed. The room was really dirty, but I was so exhausted and there was nothing else in the area. If I would have just kept going another 1/2 hr I would have come across more choices. The bed was comfortable.

Parking lot was dark.

The carpet in our room felt wet to the touch. I didn’t realize how dirty it was until my child sat on the bed to change and I saw the bottom of her feet were black. There appeared to be black mold growing in the corner of the shower wall and there were face and hand prints on the mirror over the bed and some stray hairs on the pillows. There was also trash piled up next to the bin by the entrance door. Not the greatest but not the worst I guess. Easy enough for a quick night.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was relatively clean, but there was dirt in the corners of the bathroom, bugs crawling on the walls I'm pretty sure were cockroach nymphs, and stains on the sheets.

The room was dirty. Lots of soap scum in bathroom. Mold and paint chipping off around shower in room 325. Floors not vacuum.

It was very unclean. It was a non-smoking room and it smelled like an old ashtray. And very musty luckily I had my own air and fabric freshener. The bedding was covered with other people's hair and had dirty nasty stains on it, the floors and carpet were filthy and the bathroom was filthy and the floor in there sticky. The one bathroom light took forever to work right and the one above the mirror above the stand where the desk like table was flickered. There are issues with staff knowing certain wings are big infested, but still are renting to people putting them at risk. The window bench sheet had stains on the cushion . It was down right nasty for the price we paid. My husband and I had to stay there because we had lost our home due to flooding and had to find somewhere to stay at least a night or twoso that we weren't sleeping in the car and didn't really have the funds to do so and it wasn't worth what was paid thankfully our children were staying with other family so that they didn't have to endure it. The one side entrance door didn't latch and lock like it was supposed to so anyone could've walked in the building without a key card. Never again will I ever rent from that specific hotel and will be sure not to recommend it to anyone else to spare them what we went through. We had to go in and get our own change of bedding to redo our bed since the ones they had on there were disgusting and the ones we went to put on there also were dirty for something that was washed

Grass was not mowed. Trash over flowing at the door. Pubic hair in the bathroom. Poop on the hand towel.

I have stayed at this hotel previously with no major issues or concerns. This particular stay the bathroom was dirty. There were stains on the bed linens and the waffle batter was sour. Also, there was not a microwave in my room and no one seemed to know where it was.

IT WAS VERY DIRTY AND SMELLED BAD. THERE IS HAIR IN THE BATHROOM AS IF THEY HAD NOT CLEANED THE ROOM

This hotel has become run down. Cleanliness was questionable, some things were broken or out of order. Fridge didn’t work. Toilet paper holder broken. Ice makers and vending out of order. Bed uncomfortable. Shower curtain stained and unacceptable

Very friendly staff. Easy parking. Nice breakfast included with lots of juices and coffee and teas and such. Biscuits and gravy for the win. The walls are very thin and we could here everything, including the nerd convention and TV in the lobby. The bathroom could use some work, shower curtain had some mold and overall it was a bit dirty and had peeling paint. Great location across from the federal correctional facility as well as a nice 20 minute or so drive to the Wisp Ski Resort. The gas station down the block has a rad arcade area and some tasty cuisines. I suggest getting involved.

The property was nice. Unfortunately, after one or two uses not one of our keys worked on our room door or either of the side entrance doors where we needed to take our pat in and out of. The afternoon an evening desk clerk was fabulous. She was wonderful. God is everything we needed, friendly informative. I don’t have anything to say about other Clerks because we left first thing in the morning and I didn’t really have time to converse with him. Part of the furnishings in our room were falling apart, with trim hanging off at an angle for the desk Every time someone passed it would catch on something. Other than the dorky not working (and then The morning clerk arguing that they should work and he didn’t understand why they didn’t work) and some of the furniture falling apart I took a shower and the bathtub bottom of the shower where you stand was very slippery. I had to hang onto the soap dispenser rail constantly when I was showering.

Very Clean rooms. my fridge didn't work and they offered me another room but I didn't need the fridge, the staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was nice (they had make your own waffles even), other than the road noise (bring ear plugs) my stay there was excellent

Have stayed at Microtel a few times. This was my worst experience there. Condition of hotel seems to have gone down. AC was not working properly, the carpet felt damp on my feet, and the ice maker and vending machines were out of service.

Needed some maintenance. Water closet in room was not firmly attached to the floor and rocked front to back when sitting on it. otherwise stay was good.

Room was nice but not nearly enough lighting in the room at all. Also the entry door was hard to open. They need to update their locking system. Half the time the lock did not read my keys.

It’s a good hotel, clean. WiFi is a bit slow.

The furniture in the room was water damaged. And the AC unit knobs didn’t work could never get the unit to “heat” the room. Motel was out or the way and location not marked well exiting the interstate.

I could hear.my neighbor snoring, the walls are so thin.

The staff was wonderful and made sure we were comfortable.

Our room was not cleaned any day during our stay.

No receipt at check out. Refused to inspect room and refund deposit (that was sprung upon me unannounced at check-in). Clerk at check-in lied to me just to get rid of me. Night auditor/desk clerk refused to provide receipt or refund of deposit. No Manager on property.

The lady at the desk was excellent in handling so many people at once, very skilled, mannerly, customer focused and quality-driven. The outside of the motel looked very nice yet the inside was shabby, run-down, worn, furniture in room was terribly stained. At $170 in WV, 30 miles from nearest “city” the price was absurd for the expense. Poor value.

The manager and staff made us feel very welcome due to their friendly nature. The manager offered some hiking destinations info. We went to the house places and had a great vacation. The daily breakfast choices were abundant. Thanks for a great vacation stay.

Requested early check in which was not accommodated. We were told check in at 3. We came back at 3:30 checked in and were sent to a dirty room. We were told due to booking through 3rd party that we should have called. We were not able to get to our room until 4:30 and suspected that the room was not cleaned throughly. We were told to talk to John the next day about our experience and discuss a possibility of a refund. When we spoke to John the next day he advised that we needed to speak to the hotel manager Bonnie who was not there. John took our info and said to expect a call from Bonnie the next day. We have not received a call and I unsuccessfully not been able to get in touch with the hotel manager as of today. They also charged an additional $50 deposit fee which we were told would drop off but it has not! This experience overall is ridiculous! 10 out 10 do not recommend!!!

Room was great and bed was very comfortable after a long drive. Night shift clerk was 20 minutes late to work so took forever to get checked in

Maid walks in room without knocking scared me to death. No phone in rooms. Walls then could hear people snoring in other rooms.

Front desk staff (who was actually a housekeeper but was gracious enough to fill in for an understaffed location) was very kind and she did a great job.

Well located off 68. There is not much around but the room was good and clean.

Very convenient to highway.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable; however, there are no restaurants around the area. Have to drive appropriately 30 minutes away to Morgantown to find something to eat.

The hotel is in a quiet area next to Hazelton, WV. Federal Prison. I think they get most of their business indirectly related to the prison. One convenience store near by and Bruceton Mills is about 6 miles away. Only one restaurant delivers there and if you order a pizza it will cost you plenty and take a long time to arrive. I have to say it was a good pizza.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The lobby and other areas need a facelift. Breakfast was standard continental fare and was fine. The staff in the evening seemed bored with being there, but the staff in the morning was friendly. The location is close to the highway, but nothing else. If you’re just looking for a budget conscious stop over during a long trip, this is a good choice.

Right off the highway. Nice staff and clean room. About 30 minutes from WVU. Not in a town nor next to anything.

No place to eat nearby, but otherwise a good overnight enroute to another destination.

This is a remote location. Nearest restaurant is 5 miles. But it is a clean, affordable, and good value motel. Worked well for us since we were kayaking the nearby rivers.

Very clean and very quiet. Conveniently located between Morgantown WV and Grantsville MD. Also close to SW Pennsylvania

It was close to Morgantown and so it was much cheaper than hotels on town. I wish the area had a few restaurants.

Clean safe good breakfast

Everything was fine, but there should be some condiments for breakfast for the eggs. Mustard, ketchup, and hot sauce. Also, some fruit besides the cheap apples that were partially rotten. There is also not enough room for everyone to eat. Some people at standing up, going back to their rooms, or having to use the reception area.

The room was not clean. The continental breakfast was terrible.

I was amazed at what a great value it was for the price. The breakfast offered was adequate but not as varied as some of our other stays. They did not have many hot dishes besides the waffles. We would stay there again.

The Hotel is located between the Maryland line and Morgantown, WV off Rt 68. Very convenient to Deep Creek area, Swallow Falls, and Laurel Caverns. Hotel was quiet, check-in/out staff very pleasant. Free parking, free WiFi and hot breakfast (waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bagels, toast, pastries, yogurt, cereal) and comfortable rooms. Would stay here again if visiting the area.

The service was terrific with our host being very helpful. The breakfast service could use some updates. The fresh fruit was dried out. The toaster and microwave was dirty. Please pay attention what you are serving your customers even if it means putting out less food and refilling as necessary.

The staff were friendly and the hotel grounds were nice, except the landscaping in the front was overgrown. The breakfast nook is small and hard to navigate. The interior of this hotel os in desperate need of a down to the studs remodel and update. There was black mold/mildew in all the surfaces around the shower in the bathroom and the room itself had a strange odor. The mattresses and box springs were encapsulated which was a relief because of another review I saw that mentioned bed bugs! We only stayed one night so, it was only a minimum inconvenience for me.
