Motel 6 Kansas City, MO - Airport

The property was very dirty the rooms are extremely dirty when you try to get the staff at different parts of the day they're not there I would almost 2 hours I mean I waited almost 2 hours just to get a $1.50 in quarters back to finish my laundry nobody showed up so finally had to go spend six dollars over at the vending machine just get the quarters to get my laundry out of the washer and into the dryer and then when you try to call on this is around noon middle part of the day they got to sign in the office right on property will be back soon and I don't even pick the phone up and her show back up for at least 2 hours the pool is not working just overall dirty property

Poor staff member was understaffed and overworked. Pool was tarped up.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean, but could use some paint and flooring. Top stair step at South end of building is half missing, and is a horrible trip/fall hazard.

Hotel was not convenient to I70. Staff was nice, room was clean, but not the best area and we had no hot water at out 10pm checkin.

Cheap place to sleep. That is all. Bring your own sheets. The floors were filthy, and the shower as well. I brought my own sheets and I was only there for a couple of hours a night. So it was whatever. It's close to MCI which is convenient. Outside of the room was filthy and run down as well. And on my last day I was woken up early by contractors doing work on the railing.

Filthy. Floors, bathroom, walls- all bad. Water in unusable because of a horrid smell. There was a pool that was a gross shade of green. Was only place that takes dogs so thankful but this shouldn’t option.

Like that you can park in front of your room

Over priced motel . Charging quality hotel rates . Room was small . Bed stated queen it was a full . No shampoo conditioner to wash my hair . No working pool . No continetial breakfast . Bathroom needed some remodeling. Mold growing at the baseboard of the bathroom tv did not turn on

Short stay for a townie. I like the surrounding area, lots of ethnic noncorporate restaurant choices plus a multitude of fast food and everyday places that many are familiar with. Noncorporate ice cream stand, unusual independent bbq, Mexican, Chinese, & Indian, burger etc stands within walking distance, Quick Trip (gas etc), shopping. Nearby areas have theatres, smoke shops.... Not necessarily fancy interior but very clean &, functional with MUCH better than average cable. That being said, pool not available, building seriously needs a bit of paint and I don't think that you should expect daily maid care or shampoos. Only shower.

Was a little disappointed about the pool not being open but overall it was a good area for me and my children. Rooms looked great and beds were clean and comfy. Highly recommend this place. Check in and out was a breeze and they were so nice. Thanks for s great stay!

Dingy room, but good climate controls. Fairly clean but tolerable. The disaster was the bathroom - through a door from the lodging room to the bathroom you enter a concrete “garage” with a toilet, sink, and shower. No wall treatments, no flooring, no amenities. I wouldn’t dare walk barefoot in there - maintained with a hose or a mop. Glad I only had to endure one night.

First room i was given had dirty towels and trash in it and smelled like marijuana. Went and requested a different room, and was given one without issue. The second room had been cleaned but not very well. Had cobwebs in the room with dead bugs in them. Stains on the comforter. The handle fell off of the sink. Deadbolt knob would not retract the deadbolt.

This room was nasty. Sheets had blood stains on them from bed bugs. Dead bed bugs on the floor. There was no remote and had to "check one out" of the office. General area across the street was nice but this was a complete dirty dump

One word! ROACHES!

Under the bed and the bathroom was dirty. There were cigarette burns in the furniture and the entire room reaked of stale cigarettes. There were very loud people just hanging out in front of our door in the middle of the night. Crack heads around the parking lot and domestic violence on property. It was filthy and we felt very unsafe even just to walk the dog.

Cockroaches

There were cockroaches and they wouldn't let me get a refund, they just put me in another dirty room.

Our room was disgusting and smelled of pure funk. Food and scum caked onto the walls and blankets had holes in them and smelled of funk. Bathroom and floors and everything throughout WAS NOT CLEAN!!!!!

Where to start...Dead bugs on the floor, trash from days prior (based on the date of the food receipt) left under the bed, rust leak stains in the shower on the shower head as well as the floor of the shower from where the water leaked from it, and what looked like either really bad mold or water stains on the front door and most of the walls. The bedding smelled like it'd been barely cleaned after a few wet dogs had their fun, and the walls were filthy. Check out was at ten or eleven I believe; my husband and I could not stay any longer and ended up checking out early around 5:30a. Not worth it for the price imo, however it is one of the cheaper ones in the area so do with that what you will.

No refrigerator

Deadbolt lock was ripped off. A large piece of the bottom of the door was missing, so I had to put a towel to plug the hole. Bathroom had not been cleaned. Sheets smelled clean, but had several stains.

Stayed one night passing through. Friendly staff. Tv did not work. Bed was more tired than i was. Basic room no fridge no micro.

Room was really noisy.

I chose Motel 6 because it accepts dogs for free. As it turns out, I immediately saw why it can that, at least in the recently remodeled location where I stayed, where the rooms have laminate wood floors throughout. My room was spotless. The mattress wasn't very comfortable. I do have one serious complaint: the unit that does both AC and heat couldn't put out warm air on a very cold night. Fortunately my dog helped warm my bed. :-D There also was no power outlet near the bed, and I had to get out of the bed to turn on or off the light because the switch was so high up on the wall. That said, for the price, its dog policy, and its cleanliness, I'd stay at Motel 6 again.

While the room was clean enough, it was disappointing that there was no mini-fridge, coffee maker, or microwave in room. It was very bare bones. During my stay there was a group of individuals I'm not sure were associated with the hotel that appeared to be living in their car in the back lot and they were often roaming the area. Nightly there was loud, thumping bass music I could hear in my room, but not sure if this was from hotel or a nearby business. Room was quite noisy and not very sound-proof. There was also a dog in a room either above me or next to me that incessantly barked.

The room was good and clean, but I was disappointed that there was no table or chair nor a refrigerator in this particular room. I’ve stayed at this motel several times and the other rooms had all three. So I could not even keep my refreshments, cool. The bed was comfortable though.

Absolutly no amennities. I would have expected the price much less.

Upon check in, the staff member was incredibly rude. While I was waiting in line behind two individuals who were paying for their room in cash, she asked if I had a reservation and when I said yes she looked visibly disappointed. During the check in process she kept running my American Express card and the machine continually said, “card error”. When I asked her to run it again, I noticed on her computer screen that she was tapping “debit” instead of credit. When I asked her to trying hitting credit, she said she had already tried without it working, and that’s why she was now hitting debit. When I pressed for her to try again, she did and the card immediately worked. Once the card transaction went through, she then began to question my California drivers license and said she did not see the ID number. It actively seemed like she did not want me to stay at the property. When I finally got my room key, she noted that checkout was at 10am when the policy through Expedia and the Motel 6 website said 11am. Overall, I would not recommend this property to anyone due to this questionable experience.

I had to cancel my stay. My reservation was to pay at hotel. The manager literally screamed at me as I tried to get refund for charges on my card. Expedia tried also. Complete refusal of returning charges

Receptionist warm but not efficient at all during check in - read the room, I didn’t want to chat much just get in quickly to a clean room after driving all day

Amazing. So helpful it was unreal. Things had been difficult on my trip here and they were so Amazing and helpful. I was so glad to be able to get the registration completed so quickly and no problems and to get to my room and rest.

The staff was very friendly

Dryer in front lobby was so loud i couldnt hear clerk thru night service window. No fridge in room and tv was not working. Desk clerk said there was no maintenance available, could not move me to another room, and what i asked what he would do to fix it his response was "whatever." Reconsidering using this motel next time im in town.

Do NOT recommend, felt very unsafe I ended up leaving for a different hotel after being in the room for 15 minutes. Men loitering in the back parking lot facing my room, many men out on the railings talking loudly/smoking, a tenant was walking a pitbull that was barking, could hear everything in my room even with TV and AC on. Bed was crunchy—that’s the best way I could describe it. Right next to the freeway very loud. Room smelled of smoke and was very small and dingy. Definitely got the feeling people stay here for extended periods and it was like a live in community. Unfortunately took the loss on this one but am so happy I left for a safer spot.

The woman who received us at the reception was friendly and capable. The location is convenient, but our room was a bit noisy since it faced the highway.

It was nice weather so up till 9:30p I hung outside as did a few other neighbors. Inside things were clean if not luxurious, a table to sit at and much better than cable tv. I watched a lot of movies, which I usually never do as most hotels offer terrible cable tv choices. Bathroom is minimal with a shower, just soap and towels. For some this may not be enough. Nearby, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, all kinds of fast food too within walking distance. Not to mention ice cream, Starbucks and Quick Trip for gas &,a snack. I told my friend it was food heaven. That's a nice amenity.

This is a good basic motel room. Nothing fancy, but decent. Good deal for the price. Close to MCI Airport.

They charged my card an additional incidental fee of $40, which wasn’t agreed upon at the time I booked the room, and wasn’t apparently voluntary since they took the money anyway. The amount of people screaming nearby, ridiculous sirens and sounds of what sounded like robberies nearby made it impossible to sleep. This was a horrible stay.
