Amy was very friendly She stood out the most everyone else was kind But they had no smiles on their faces Amy went over and above very vibrant and happy As far as your property ghost there was some hairs on the bed spread when we first walked in the room the bathtub drain did not hold water it needs an adjustment Baseboards coming off of walls especially around the ice Maker I noticed these things because I too am a maintenance man for a trucking company But overall the outside of the property seemed to be clean I walked into the pool area it seemed to be very nice I just wish you had a hot tub I would have loved to soak my back I will consider staying at your place again next time I come through Portsmouth

Hotel is ok but very overpriced. We can for the Lucasville trade days on a Saturday-Sunday stay and our room w/ 2dbl. Bed was 145.00 only worth about 70. Our friends who were in a separate room had filthy sheets with hair on them and when they got a new sheet it had hair on it too. Pool was pretty good the hot tub needed water and the jets barely worked.

Nice place. Great price. Very clean. Staff was friendly! Continental breakfast was a continental breakfast :-) Apparently they don't have a hot tub anymore :-( Maybe they could update the website? Will definitely stay here again.

Rebecca in the breakfast area and Brianna at the front desk were very kind. The pool was disgusting with chunks of paint on the bottom of the pool. They ran out of towels so our family of six had four towels. The hall reeked of pot. The bed was comfortable.

Please don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Free breakfast was disgusting. Indoor pool was green. The entire hotel smelt of marajuana. Than to top it off when we were loading up there was a guy high on drugs right outside the main door where my kids saw this. Only there for one night, but damn it was not a nice clean place, like the pictures present

I loved the workers. The rooms where good. But the pool was not kept up. I slipped down the entrance and the hot tub jets didn't work and I cut my toes on a piece of metal on the last step down. Like I said staff where great. Also breakfast stopped at 9 a.m. Those of us on vacation like to sleep late so we lost that perk 10 or 10:30 is most places.

Trust the bad reviews and don’t stay here. The whole place smells like cigarettes. The rooms are incredibly rundown and dirty. Had to go to the dollar store and buy my own cleaning supplies to clean it. Stains on the sheets, moldy shower and dirty toilet, curtains ripped and stained with what looked like blood, white towels had black stains all over them, uneven and broken floors, cigarette holes and stains all over the chairs, sticky nightstands, windows so dirty you can’t see out of them…. There was literally a hole in our wall by the AC and you could see outside. And this was the second room after we refused to stay in the first one we were given. There’s strange people who just hang out in the lobby and parking lot all day every day, I assume they live at the hotel. Had a poor newborn baby rolling around the dirty lobby floor. Doors slam all hours of the night. People screaming in the hallway at 7am. Backdoors are open for anyone to just walk in. Parking lot has sketchy characters. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

It was disgusting the hotel is supposed to smoke free and it smelt like weed all threw the hotel. There were cigarettes and ashes on the stairs. Our room had a hole in the bathroom door, sheets had hairs on them. The curtain was ripped. Bathroom door wouldn't shut. The pool was nasty. The people that worked that was rude, i guess they were guests got into our conversation with one of the ladies.

We reached the hotel at 1:40 and was asked to pay 40$ for early check in if it is 2 hours before and 20$ for an hour before so we waited in pur car and checked in the hotel which was already overpriced for the dirty surroundings. When we checked into the room there were like 5 or 6 flies in the room and hair in the bathroom not clean. We decided to checkout immediately so booked a hotel in Ashland Kentucky and left. I will never ever make a mistake of staying in Super 8 by Wyndham.

Everything seemed really clean and put together till we went to check the beds and found bed bugs in one room. We asked to switch rooms and they gave us 2 new rooms. We check them too to bottom and found nothing so we decided to stay. About 3 hours later we found a bed bug in one room crawling in the tv stand. Very dissatisfied that 2/4 rooms had bugs.

This room was completely dirty with other people hair, stains, dog hair, and spills in the room. There are no locks on external entries to the property in the back or on the side and there was no manager to speak to. We had to leave and book another hotel. Terrible experience and I wasn’t refunded. Incredibly upset this happened on my son’s birthday as well!

It was filthy. Asked for the floors that were horribly sticky to be cleaned again and came back to the same level of stick. The hotel smelled foul. The room was less so but still not good. Had to ask for clean bedding twice. Stains, crumbs, hair. Then had to ask separately for clean blankets as only sheets were provided. Staff was apologetic but it was a mess. I had to clean the room as good as I could with limited supplies from the local dollar store. Put pictures of the paper towel I used after the floors were cleaned twice.

Super loud highway truck traffic & freight trains every couple of hours if you're in the even-numbered rooms. Advertised hot breakfast was just waffles and very hard biscuits & gravy. Hardwood pergo floor turned my feet black after a few minutes walking around. Office desk was extremely small & chair was very dangerous for people of a certain size on the hard floors due to cheap design. Only given 1 packet of coffee for the machine. Only restaurant nearby is Mickey D's.

Our lock on our door that you move over the door was broken. The doorframe/door looked like it had been pryed open and damaged. Our window was broken/cracked and sitting in there crooked. To say the least, it looked like something "had happened" in this room that someone was getting in and someone was getting out.

Hotel is fine for the most part. Newly renovated, so that helps. Bathroom shower could use updating. Room smelled musty upon entry. On the downside, we were on the 1st floor and the hotel is VERY NOISY!!! Little to no insulation between floors so we could hear a kid running around above us for hours!!! People staying here obviously are not concerned with the amount of noise they make or how it affects the other guests. If there would have been another option for a hotel in Portsmouth, we would not have stayed here.

I liked the price the most. I booked two queen beds, but I do not believe those were queens, I think they were doubles or fulls. So it made sleeping harder. The room had a musty bad odor to it. Right as you get off the elevator on the 2nd floor it smelled of urine and wet dog smells. It was convenient to get to Shawnee State University. The breakfast was not that great. They had biscuits and gravy and waffles. They had two types of cereal but was out of milk in the container.

I had a room on the second floor and there were children above me running back and forth on the floor above me. Also, I requested a late check-out, was appproved, and paid the extra fee. However, it wasn't communicated with the morning staff or put in their notes. They began knocking on my door at 11 am and I explained that I had a late check-out to housekeeping. They knocked again at noon saying they didn't have record of it. I had to show my bank statements and tell them I hadn't checked in until 7 pm for the matter to be resolved.

I had to go buy towels because they were always out, the hotel always had a foul odor, it wasn’t clean at all, I attempted to check out early and was told I had to contact the third party booking because they couldn’t do it, the parking lot was super crowded with people sitting in the car doing who knows what.

We came to Portsmouth for the Trains. Super 8 has a great view of the tracks with trees and mountains as a background (ask for 3rd fl facing road). The road and trains noise is not load enough to disrupt sleep. The bed was comfortable and the room is clean. The hot breakfast was good but did not see grab n go things like muffins and yogurt. Did not use the pool but it looked of a good size. All staff I met were friendly and welcoming.

Super loud highway truck traffic & freight trains every couple of hours if you're in the even-numbered rooms. Advertised hot breakfast was just waffles and very hard biscuits & gravy. Hardwood pergo floor turned my feet black after a few minutes walking around. Office desk was extremely small & chair was very dangerous for people of a certain size on the hard floors due to cheap design. Only given 1 packet of coffee for the machine. Only restaurant nearby is Mickey D's.

There are not a lot of hotel options in the Portsmouth area. I am so glad we chose Super 8. Although an older hotel, it is updated nicely. Very clean. The staff is excellent, friendly, and ready to assist in any way. It is easily accessible from hwy23 or Scioto Trail. "Close" to Portsmouth and the new by-way will get you anywhere quickly. Will stay here again next year.

Everything was good except it was a little outdated, and there were a couple of shady people walking around in the back parking lot. Car was not disturbed. Price was decent, i was glad to be able to finally rest after such a long journey

The girl who checked me on was awesome. Gave me suggestions for dinner as it was late. Room was quiet and right off the elevator so I didnt have to walk far.. and at last a hot breakfast. I do wish that tgere were a few more options ie yogurt, a meat choice, etc but overall great

The place was very noisey and poorly run, very dirty and the breakfast bar was dirty and badly stocked and very limited selection. Had 2 day stay in mind,but left after one day.They need some correct supervision and inspection.

Please don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Free breakfast was disgusting. Indoor pool was green. The entire hotel smelt of marajuana. Than to top it off when we were loading up there was a guy high on drugs right outside the main door where my kids saw this. Only there for one night, but damn it was not a nice clean place, like the pictures present

The room was very clean. The staff was great! Especially Rebecca in the breakfast area!" She was super friendly and accommodating. Hot breakfast scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravey, waffles, cereal, yogurt. On the negative side, the walls are THIN! You can hear every noise. We were in 305 by the laundry room. We could hear people and the dryer. We heard the neighbors shower at 5:30am and heard anyone in the halls talking. The air conditioner is an older unit and although cooling, came on and off all night. I really wanted to like the place as the pricev was great, staff was super and the room was clean. But honestly didn't get a good night's sleep.

I liked the price the most. I booked two queen beds, but I do not believe those were queens, I think they were doubles or fulls. So it made sleeping harder. The room had a musty bad odor to it. Right as you get off the elevator on the 2nd floor it smelled of urine and wet dog smells. It was convenient to get to Shawnee State University. The breakfast was not that great. They had biscuits and gravy and waffles. They had two types of cereal but was out of milk in the container.

Normally know better than to stay at a lower grade hotel but was in a pinch.. Big mistake room floor felt nasty and sticky to start the room didnt smell clean.. the bed sheets had stains then to top it off was sitting at the desk saw a bug well it happened to be a roach,killed that one pulled the sheet back there was another one, finally called the front desk and the guy was like yeah thats not good this was at 2 am and i really had no choice but to stay he switched rooms to one that at least didnt have any sign of bugs but same on the not clean part.. the wonderful manager was nice enough to give me back a hige amount of $13.14 what a slap in the face… do not stay here
