Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Hotel does not elevator, which makes it inconvenient. Beds and sheets are due for replacement. I recommend to change the bathroom door to open outward. It is not functional the way it is today.

The rooms were very outdated, very short ceilings, extremely small. We had extensive power outages for three days in a row which meant no air conditioning and no WiFi. Hotel’s policy looks for any unreasonable opportunity to charge unjustifiable fees that make absolutely no sense. I’d never stay at this property again.

Attractive old building right next to blue mosque and short walking distance to other attractions in Sultanahmet and bazaar district. Good friendly staff. The building doesn't have lifts and I was on second floor, but the concierge was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Excellent location just outside the Blue Mosque and next to the square with Haiga Sofia. Property has own private grounds as well. Rooms are very cozy. Breakfast very nice and at room overlooking Bosphorus, so can watch sunrise and sunsets. Staff very attentive And goes above … delivered luggage to 3rd floor room as there is no elevator. Moreover receptionist walked me outside after check out and made sure that I used the correct taxi for a ride, so not to get scammed … All in All - Liked it much … When / If back - would stay again. The location is very good. Staffs are very nice. The only problem is they were still using those grey old towels in the bathroom. Beddings was with hole (look like cigarette burn hole) and stains. You may want to bring your own towels. Remember to press the button to turn on air conditioning every time you are back to your room. Internet speed is OK but not stable at night.

The sultanahmet hotel was ok. It was very convenient for shopping, lots of restaurants and stores in a walking distance. Also breakfast was included they had a good selection of yogurt, breads, eggs and juices. I enjoyed the breakfast every day. The floor in the bedroom was not too clean, neither the bathroom, the bathtub was too high to get in and out, and the sliding doors from the bathtub were too dirty. The employees were nice and helpful. The hotel is in a very good spot for the major attractions like the mosques, and restaurants as well as the bazar.

Great location—close to major sights and in a safe neighbourhood. However, the room was very small, with barely enough space for two suitcases, and cramped for two people to move around comfortably. We booked a double room with a sea view, but it was misleading—the "view" was only visible when stepping out onto the balcony and looking sharply to the side. At checkout, the reception offered to book us a taxi. Despite hearing concerns about yellow taxis in Istanbul, we trusted the hotel. Unfortunately, the driver demanded 1000TL without using the meter in a very aggressive manner, far above the usual 400–500TL fare. We got out, returned to the hotel, and booked an Uber Black instead—safe and fairly priced under 500TL. When we raised the issue, the staff member who helped us was gone, and the receptionist present was dismissive and unapologetic. Avoid yellow taxis—even those arranged by the hotel. Use public transport or Uber instead.

Location Location was perfect - so close to all attractions in the Old Town. Room size It was fine - not massive but did the job. It was clean throughout. Bathroom The bathroom was too small. You need to walk into the shower area to get to the toilet. I actually have a bruise from hitting the ledge when trying to exit the bathroom. The shower curtain has to rest on the toilet brush which we thought was unhygenic. Whilst the hammam bathroom looks good, it was very slippy which is not good for older people. Breakfast The view was beautiful but the food was not good except the honey from an actual honeycomb. The juices were all carton drinks. This is not what I was expecting from a Turkish breakfast. Service The service was brilliant. Halleel (man on reception in evening) was lovely and so knowledgable. He is a credit to the hotel.

Amazing hotel. Located in the heart of the old historic centre, within easy walking distance of all sites. We had a great room with balcony, and views facing directly on the Blue Mosque and the Sea. Hotel is immaculately clean, with Palace type furnishings and decor, with traditional hammam bathroom, very comfortable bed, fridge, tea-coffee facilities, safe-box, sofa. Very friendly and professional staff, all if them always go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Very good buffet breakfast with both hot and cold food. And a lovely garden. The hotel is a haven of peace and tranquillity away from the frenzy of the city. Highly recommended.

One can't beat the location if staying in Sultanahmet. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bed is very comfortable. The rooms are not sound proof especially if your room is located near the main stairs. But it does not matter, as the call to prayer will wake you up anyway :) Wonderful fish restaurant closer to the Marmara sea and in 10 min walking distance. The bathrooms are in traditional Turkish style with a basin . There is also a shower and it could be attached to the wall. In our room we were not able to take a standing shower because the basin took up all the room. One can get used to it though. If you want a cab to the airport, arrange it through the hotel. Much easier and the price is better. The breakfast in the morning is nice but does not change day to day. They do serve custom made omelets.

We enjoyed our stay at Sultanhamet Palace Hotel. The location was so close to all the main historic sites in Istanbul. The staff was friendly. The first night, the pillows were too full for us so we took the pillow cases and put them on decorative pillows. The housekeeper noticed and provided us with flatter pillows without us having to ask. Our favorite spot was the balcony as we had a close up view of the blue Mosque and a view of the Bosphorus Strait. We were unable to get a larger room and our room was quite small and repairs were not done well. The biggest complaint would be the breakfast. We spent 1 week in Greece and 2 weeks in Turkey staying in several hotels with each including breakfast and this was the worst. We heard other people complaining. The bread was hard and stale, there was not much variety, the jams were not homemade and had little flavor. We even went out to eat breakfast the last day we were there because it was so disappointing. However, I would stay there again just for the location and staff.

This hotel has an amazing view of the Blue Mosque especially at night. It also offers very good breakfast at the rooftop with a gorgeous view. However, we find that the receptionist during our stay was not as warm and welcoming considering that he was at the front desk. We stayed at another hotel in Istanbul and we can’t help but compare the excellent customer service we received from our previous hotel.

Perfect location for exploring the old town area. There are many dining options within walking distance and a bazaar is across the street. We loved our room (201) facing the Blue Mosque. It has a comfortable king bed and other seating areas as well. While the staff was efficient, we found the front desk high pressure sales to book a guide off-putting and frustrating. The man actually booked a guide for us just because we asked about pricing and then phoned our room relentlessly. We never confirmed we wanted to book a guide but he did it anyway and then tried to make us pay for the guide even though we had booked our own tour for the day. My recommendation is to give a firm NO and dont ask questions.

A perfect location in the historic part of Istanbul. Within 10 minutes walk of Blue Masque, Haghia Sofia, cistern, and Topkapi Palace with wide range of restaurants from Four Seasons rooftop to local quality and quick. Also easy tram (15 mins) to Kabatas harbour for cruises. Fantastic panoramic view from Junior Suite. Quiet street was unbelievable in central Istanbul. Clean, a palace. No lift but a grand staircase.

The staff were very helpful and the location is terrific, with a lovely view of the Blue Mosque from the courtyard. The breakfast was excellent, with an abundance of choices and a view of the Bosphorus from both indoor seating and the terrace. The only sour note was an evening meal we had in the restaurant, which was the worst we had in Turkey. It is difficult to find a bad meal in Turkey but even basic things on the menu were not available and the food we did receive was poorly prepared. Even the bread was stale. We spoke to the staff at the front desk about this problem but to date have received no follow up from the manager.

GREAT LOCATION! Our jaws dropped to see the blue mosque right in front of us when we arrived. Their marketing pictures don’t do the rooms justice. The place is old but very clean. Perfect location for first timers as EVERYTHING you need to see is walking distance. It’s very quiet though considering central location. Staff was very helpful and kind.

Terrific location within a few minutes walk of the Blue Mosque (view from our balcony at night was unbeatable), the Hagia Sophia (also visible from our room). Loved the restaurant scene a short walk away. Room small (very small bathroom) but excellent breakfast with a view of the Bosphorus (outside sitting optional). T1 tram easily accessible with links to Metro lines to Istanbul Airport. Highly recommend this hotel for all the reasons you want to visit Istanbul.

Not expensive but sub par. Bad pillows and beds. Very cramped bathroom. Not quiet. Hallways have very turned up heat. Breakfast awful! Upon arrival which was dinner time we were told the resturant that was recommended was no linger good snd the front desk suggested a really awful place. The day manager was much more helpful and easy to converse with. Location fir the old city is exceptional. Would not stay there again!

We had a brief stay here when we decided to extend our layover to include a tour of Istanbul. Splurging on the room with water views was worth it! The breakfast buffet was better than most hotels. The additional shuttle to and from the airport was very convenient. And the location was great for our tour (very close to the Blue Mosque). I would consider staying here again if we return to Istanbul. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The breakfast was good. Easy starting the day without thinking about where to go for breakfast. Good variety. They did run out of items during our stay. No butter and no bananas. The room was basic, no luxury. The bathroom was strange and small and very hard to maneuver. Staff were very nice. The location was perfect and we had no problem walking everywhere we wanted to.
