Property was awesome! The only disappointment was the hot tub was broke and with a very long drive we wanted to use it to help with our backs

The breakfast options were good. The room was clean. The pool was small and cold, but otherwise good. The hot tub was broken. I never used the gym.

Only negative was the ice machine wasn’t working but the staff was able to quickly supply ice from the kitchen. All bagged up

This was a fine overnight stop on a roadtrip. My kids enjoyed the pool, though it was cold and the hot tub was broken. Breakfast was fine overall but they were out of water and milk, and there weren’t enough tables for everyone. It is close to downtown where there are things to do. We went to the Mexican restaurant for dinner which was lovely. It smelled liked weed in the lobby, but…it’s Trinidad? Rooms were clean.

We were disappointed to hear the hot tub was not functional. When asked how long it would be out of service, staff replied, it is out for the time being. We drove hundreds of miles and looked forward to a medicinal spa moment and the IHG website said NOTHING about being out of order. If it is on your amenities list, it needs to function. On the plus side the breakfast was amazing, beyond impressive.

Good location near the highway. Breakfast had hot items available in the morning. Tesla chargers near the hotel. I would book again

Very comfortable bed, clean spacious room. Only problem was hot tub was out of order.

An excellent hotel in many ways, but they disappointed us in two respects: (1) their hot tub wasn't functional, just like when we stayed there last spring; (2) they have only one ice machine and it wasn't working. Wonderful breakfast, very nice rooms, good fitness center. And the staff gave free bags of ice to make up for the broken ice machine. But for the price they charge, things should work.

Parking can be tight and limited. Otherwise, access to freeway is easy. The hotel is modern and clean. Staff was nice. And the included breakfast was great with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Would stay again.

All staff were very pleasant and kind. The room and entire hotel was very clean. Even in a pretty full hotel, it was very quiet, well built hotel walls.

The property itself was great! We loved the location and the building was nice. Only thing we didn’t like was the shower had hairs all over the floor. During breakfast, our banana nut muffin was very moldy and the hot tub wasn’t in service. Other than those little things everything went smoothly and the beds were comfy, nice views, and friendly staff.

Spotless room and very helpful staff

The room was nice, bed comfortable, view of the back was great and it was quiet. The bathtub had mold and mildew in the corners and we were only offered 1 bath towel for the room. We did collect more towels from housekeeping that was still in the hallway. We do want to stay here again. I hope they clean the bathtub better. No one wants mold and mildew on the bathtub for the price we paid.

Our bathroom had hairs on the floor, the pull out sofa still had the dirty sheets on it from the prior guest. Very disappointing and gross!

We stayed here twice, once on our way to Denver and once coming home. The first time was ok. The room was clean but the fold out couch was dirty. I had to ask for new sheets and blankets because the foldout couch blanket had hair all over it. The second stay, our room was dirty, the bathroom was disgusting. I had to Clorox wipe the toilet because it wasn’t cleaned, the counter had hair on it and the shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. The foldout couch was in some way broken because the feet end was higher than the head end. There was even a small crack in the door so that when you laid on the foldout couch you could look into the hallway. The queen beds were clean both times. I think it probably was the best choice in town given the options. Next time, we will just drive straight through to Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Bathroom had not been cleaned properly after previous guests checked out.

There was dog food on the entry of the carpet as we walked in to unload, dog hair on the bed and on the carpet. There was human hair on the bathroom tile floor. The coffee creamer was the cheap and pasty warm bottle type for breakfast and the rooms.

Room was clean and comfortable. Bed is outstanding. Never slept so good once I was able to get some sleep which brings me to the only complaint I had. on 2nd floor and my room was the corner by the elevator. The elevator noise was a non issue. Never heard it. What I did hear was all of the noise being made by who I hope was an employee inside the Mechanical Room next to the elevator. That room literally shared a wall with my room. Whatever this person was doing was noisy in my room and this went on until around 1AM. Yes 1AM. Why there was a need for an employee to be in that room at that hour seemed odd unless there was some emergency which everything else seemed normal. So that was frustrating because I specifically stayed there because I’ve stayed there other times and besides the bed being so great the location is perfect for a quick nights rest on a road trip. I understand someone needing to be in the room if a concern called for it. But they need to be mindful that the closet shares a wall withj Some employees to praise here are the young man that checked me in (short curly hair, facial jewelry and arm tattoos. He was so kind. The man working the breakfast area was superb. Night auditor was very helpful.

The Wi-Fi was the best that we have seen during our three weeks trip in five states. The room was clean and beds also were very comfortable. Free parking was an extra bonus. The breakfast was basic but complimentary.

Walls must be very thin. I could hear the next door units TV blaring at 4am. Someone on the other side of me started playing heavy metal music at 4am. Not a good night of sleep. Front desk attendant was sympathetic to my concern, but not much they can do. The complex is the problem.

The Mexican restaurant nearby, the breakfast was good, comfy bed and spacious rooms. Very clean!

Overnight stay on our return trip to Dallas. Clean and comfortable rooms that have recently been renovated.

It was fine for an overnight stay. The exterior area was just not in great condition. The room was fine but no vent in the bathroom. All hotel bathrooms should have a vent. Air conditioner was very loud and did not have an option to keep the fan on so it woke us up every time it came on and went off. No filtered water available in the lobby but the clerk was nice and offered us a complimentary bottle of water.

The check-in process was flawless, with a friendly guy taking care of it efficiently. He was able to accommodate my request for a lower floor by trading with another room that wanted up high. He recommended local restaurants from experience. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The pet fee was reasonable - not a giant rip-off like many other hotsls.

Stayed for one night on my family's drive up to Colorado Springs. Facility was overall okay. Our problem came the next morning when at 7:40 the morning of our checkout someone was banging hard on the door like they were cops or something. I answered the door irritated and a little concerned something was happening but it was just a lady from house keeping. She looked at me and said "Oh, you guys are still here" as if we'd overstayed our welcome. I said "yeah its 7:40 in the morning" then she left. I closed the door very confused and even double checked the hotel checkout time just in case I was the idiot. An hour and a half later im sitting in bed on my laptop and i hear banging on the door again. As soon as i hear it i get up and head towards the door but someone is already opening the door to our room. Its the same housekeeper and i am immediately asking what shes doing just letting herself into our room. She very rudely tells me that she knocked and no one answered even though there was no time to get to the door unless you were already standing by. That aside i ask why she keeps banging on our door when checkout isnt until later. Rudely she said if i didnt want her at the door then I shouldve put the DND sign up. I tell her that i have never had housekeeping try to come in at 7:40 or anytime in the morning on the day of checkout. She kept arguing with me and eventually i ask her to leave. Im pretty well traveled but i have never felt so unwelcome in a room i paid for.

Travelling for pleasure, last minute change of plans due to weather. Ended up booking a night at HIE in Trinidad while on the road. Check in was uneventful, room was decent enough. At around 2 in the morning, the smoke detector in the room starts chirping as if it needs to have the battery changed. With three small children in the room, this is essentially an emergency so my wife walks down to the lobby to speak with the desk clerk. She explains what\'s going on, and the first response she gets was, "well, were you smoking in the room?" Um, no. I suppose to his credit he did eventually make it upstairs to confirm that yes, in fact, the smoke detector was chirping. But then he states that he doesn\'t know what to do because he\'s really just an "auditor" (whatever that means) and he shouldn\'t really be working the front desk. He claims the manager won\'t be in until 8:00 and the maintenance people wouldn\'t come before 6:30. Oh, and we can\'t switch rooms. So I guess we just have to suffer for the rest of the night. And not get any sleep. In a hotel. Where sleeping is kind of the point. So no, we did not get any sleep. Everyone was grumpy and not at all excited to be facing another long day of driving. The new person at the front desk apologizes on our way out and says when the manager arrives in the next half hour she will definitely give us a call. Spoiler alert, she never called. Long story short, the physical hotel is fine. The people who work there aren\'t.

Facilities were fine. We did not get the room we booked. We booked a room with king bed and got two queen beds. Person at front desk during check in was snippy and unwelcoming. Was also not happy with description on website of this hotel; it welcomes LGBTQ people. why are you mentioning one particular group of people; you should welcome all. not singling out one specific group.

Front desk staff were friendly . Room was clean & bed was comfortable. Huge complaint though. My wife was in the room by herself & happened to be in the shower when housekeeping attempted to enter the room, for what reason I don’t know as it was not 11am yet. It frightened my wife badly because she thought someone was trying to break into the room based on how hard the housekeeper was pushing on the door, which was evident based on the safety latch pulled from the wall. I expressed my frustration with the front desk. This should not be happening. Housekeeping needs to be patient & allow guests to have peace until the 11am checkout.

The receptionist on staff at time of check in at almost midnight was extremely rude going off on everyone in line and he just cancelled my reservation for no apparent reason causing me to have to go searching elsewhere for a room at midnight after driving 13 hours all day!! And my account has not yet been refunded and I want my points/credits refunded aa well

Breakfast was ok, woman was very busy cleaning and doing her job. Front desk check in men weren't very friendly or helpful. Check out women were very helpful. Bed was comfy

Overnight stop for long drive. Clean, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Next door to Wendy’s/truck stop (easy gas) and walking distance to good Mexican restaurant. A convenient, solid road trip stop

It was enough off the highway that it wasn't loud (I was also in a room on the backside, so only wind could be heard). It was right next to a dispensary, a Wendys, and a gas station. Staff was nice, facility was clean and felt safe. No complaints. It's not *as* updated as some newer properties, but it is certainly nothing to be stuck up about. I was grateful I picked it in time for my travels - I stayed here for an overnight on a longer journey.

This was an excellent stay. Nice room. Awesome breakfast, best I have had yet in a hotel.

The beds are too soft for my liking, it made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast had zero gluten-free options, maybe just a few sealed individual bowls of Cheerios or something would be nice.

Every item at breakfast that should have been hot was cold! Towels were beyond threadbare. Like drying with a cactus. Everything else was fine.

The hotel was wonderful! We stopped just to sleep during a roadtrip, and I wish we could have stayed. The room was very spacious, the staff was nice, the area was beautiful, location was good! And breakfast was early! We needed to leave before breakfast started, but when we were leaving the front desk said breakfast was early so we ate! It was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. The only thing was the bathroom smelled very strange; I had to hold my breath. But overall, I still give it 5 stars!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast selection is really good (Chris keeps everything well stocked and very clean!), and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
