Raleigh Marriott City Center

This is our new Raleigh hotel. Excellent stay. The room was clean and spacious. There is a great workout room and pool. The restaurant and bar offered a variety great food and drinks. Staff was wonderful. We really enjoyed Matt as our bartender. He was attentive and made great drinks!

Great customer service and amazing location. Indoor pool and hot tub!

Starting with the pros: the location is great and the area around the hotel is very pretty! The lobby and rooms are nice quality so no complaints there. Now the cons: we booked this hotel for the pool. We got notified a day before check in that the pool was closed (& too late to cancel). The worst part was the valet parking. We waited to get our car for over 30 minutes, asked what was going on, they had lost the keys and we’re looking for them. While we were waiting a car was pulled up with a big dent and scratch on it from the valet. Save yourself a lot of $ and frustration & just park your own car bc they cannot run a valet properly. We ended up helping them find the keys shoved in a drawer & got our own car.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was also great. Whether it be the host who was welcoming towards my pitbull or Jessica and Jordan down at the bar. We had a great stay. The only downside was the jets in the hot tub were not working. This was also my first time bring my dog and i booked online so i was not aware of the $75 fee associated with that until the day before when i called

Great downtown location within walking distance to the convention center. We came from out of town and stayed there to attend a concert. The hotel was clean, updated and the lobby was buzzing with energy. A few other pluses include - One, we valet parked and avoided any potential traffic/parking issues during our stay. Two, while the hotel has a restaurant, there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Three, the staff was very courteous and helpful. Four, the location put us in the mix of local culture events happening in the area just outside the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

The worst part is that they have everyone check in at the same time and there is very limited space to pull up to the hotel. Needed to find their parking which is around the corner and down in the dungeon. Very tight without great directions.

Property was nice. The parking garage is only 7’ so don’t plan on parking a larger truck.

Parking was a nightmare.

Pool & hot tub are indoors and open late…right next to gym. Great location and close to everything. Staff was helpful. Room super comfy. Big TV. Great view of city from window. Nightlife active but quiet in room! Will be back!

The property was the perfect location for our event on Fayetteville St. My partner and I were able to walk to the event and back to the hotel with ease even with the road blocked off. The valet service was awesome and the staff were friendly upon arrival. The room was spacious and conveniently located. The sink struggled to drain, but it was just slow. The bed was comfortable, too. The onsite restaurant served delicious breakfast. The only complaint I had was that the pool area was a little chaotic with kids not being watched. It was also really stuffy in there. Overall, it was a great place to stay and the convenience was helpful. I’d definitely return!

Very friendly staff and clean rooms/hotel.

The staff had very conflicting information on self parking. The beds were not comfortable, pillows very flat. The shower drain was almost completely clogged. One quick shower had you standing in at least ankle deep water, we had two adults and two children so even worse. These are $60/night hotel issues, not $200+/night hotel issues. We feel robbed.

Could have been cleaner. The cleaning staff didn’t clean the room. They gave us new towels but that was all. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are fairly small.

Great location, but bathroom wasn’t clean and valet were rude. Everything else was great.

House keeping clearly did not vacuum, clean floors, or wipe down surfaces. Crumbs all over floor when I got in and make up or food smeared on countertop

Very central, clean and nice stay!

I like the location and valet parking. The plumbing in room was terrible, the shower would not drain, and the sink kept spitting out black goop. In addition, the safe would not open and required staff to fix it. The pool was lovely. Food at bar on Friday took forever to receive. Service was a little better on Saturday, morning buffet was not warm enough for the meats served and resulted in illness after consuming on Saturday. Will continue to stay there due to convenience but will eat elsewhere.

Housekeeping only came by 1 time in the 4 days i was there, in house restaurant had menus online that did not exist in house. When i did order food i had to send it back twice.

The bed sheets Lifting them up saw stains on the sheets. Looked at the fitted sheets saw more stains.

While staying in the room was enjoyable, hearing your neighbors at 2am through the walls as if they are in the room with you was not. I would suggest asking people about having rooms that have adjoined doors. Staff helped remediate the issue with the very rude guests next door, but I would have preferred not to have dealt with it at all.

I do not like having to pay extra for internet.

My only major complaint was the bed. I was unable to sleep due to the bed being so uncomfortable. When I got up the next day my back and legs were stiff and caused a great deal of back and leg pain that lasted 2 days. It was truly one of the worst beds that I have ever laid in. However, the pillows were amazing. I actually laid the pillows out on the bed and tried using them to lay on. I was up all night tossing and turning as well as trying different things so that I could get some rest / sleep as I had a very long drive to make. One minor issue that we had on our floor (10th floor) was with the vending machines. The card reader on the drink machine stopped working. It was able to read my debit card, accept payment, and dispense a bottle of water with no problems. When I swiped my card a second time the card reader stopped working. It would not take my card as payment nor would it take my cash nor my change when I tried paying with change. We had to go to a different floor (at midnight) to purchase a second bottle of water. Like I said that was just a minor issue. Everything else was perfect. Very nice hotel, clean, new up to date furniture and lighting, ample outlets for charging electronics, and a friendly staff. I would have given this a 10/10 if they would have had a comfortable bed to sleep in. After having to lie in the most uncomfortable and extremely hard bed all night

A good stay. All was as expected. Room was updated and clean. Location was convenient. Staff were friendly. Only issue was we were given a room that had the option to be an adjoining room and we could hear just about everything that went on next door.

Our room was super loud. That is my only complaint. The room on the other side was blasting their tv for hours. I called the front desk and they said, “sorry, this is not a quiet hotel and I won’t move your room because then housekeeping has to come and that room may not be quiet.”

The room was clean and stocked with all the necessities one could need. However, the TV didn’t work and the food from the room delivery was horrible. Cold food. The view is awesome.

Georgous facility. Professional staff, eager to assist. King room was spacious, great lighting especilly in the bathroom for make-up application. Room also appeared to be nearly soundproof. No disturbances from neighboring guests. This hotel was on the higher end for pricing, but may be worth it when you consider the peacefulness of your stay!

Our stay at the Marriott was very nice. We was there for a concert and the location to everything was so convenient! They have a nice restaurant and Starbucks in the hotel but also plenty of food locations in walking distance. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Very quiet in the evening which was nice. The staff was really friendly and valet parking is a nice touch. There was mix up with valet and them misplacing my car but they where very apologetic and even credited the valet back to me for the inconvenience which was nice. We only stayed one night but overall I will definitely stay at this location again if I need to stay in Raleigh

We stayed for one night and were unable to get a good nights rest. The rooms were not sound proof, therefore, we heard everything from casual conversations to arguments to loud party goers all night long. Will not be booking any future stays with this hotel.

I booked a king bed room —upon arrival I got my room key and went to my room only to find it was was a conference room with a large table and couches..one of the couches was a hideabed and it was pulled out—I kid you not!! I went downstairs to front desk and they said they were sorry but that was all they had, they were sold out!! I had booked the room days before…it was late and I was tired and did not want to look for another hotel..in the morning I spoke with the manager who was relatively indifferent and cut the room rate from 335 to 99.00 - And some no voy points—outrageous. I taught him some French phrases and left. Terrible and unusual experience!!

Great location close to everything downtown. And when I lost something, everyone I spoke to was so helpful and I was able to get it back with no problems.

From checking in to rook service, bar, restaurant, and checking out - staff were so delightful. Checking in we did valet, they took great care of my car. Room service was very kind and delivered food quickly. The lady at the bar was phenomenal. She made great conversation and was fun to be around! Our drinks were delish. Finally, valet upon check out loaded my car for me while I helped my disabled mama into the car. She was phenomenal also.

The room was clean and the property was very nice. Staff at the front desk were very welcoming.

Only one attendant to check in guests at a Marriott of this size is unacceptable, it took us 35 minutes to check-in at 4:30pm - the line was across the lobby to the revolving doors. No apology nor explanation. I understand why people choose quick in and out Hampton… these big hotels shouldn’t make you wait so long… with arrogance like your lucky they even let you in. We were put in a room 435 right beside the health center entrance and the door slams hard with every visitor that shakes the walls, very very loud. The compressors for the building HVAC are directly under the windows… high decibels. The grout around shower tile drain is all cracked. One Chamomile and one Earl Grey Teabag for two guests. Thought I would surprise my wife “the Marriott experience” but unfortunately the welcome stunk and we couldn’t sleep. Pick the more reasonable options in the city.

Our problems started when we called to ask for an early check-in. The girl who answered the phone was still talking to someone else and answered "Can I help you?" We had to ask if this was the Marriott. We arrived and there were 3 valets at the station. We waited for 15 minutes, pulled up and started to unload. I asked the group of valets what their procedure was. I was informed that they were not providing valet parking because of an event downtown. It would have been nice to have been informed of this at any point while we were waiting and unloading. I loaded the car back up and was told I could use the garage they used and was given some hasty instructions. Luckily we found on-street parking because the garage I was being sent to was SOLD OUT! I relayed this to the Front Desk Manager (who was very nice) and he said he comp Valet parking for the next day. I got home and found that I had been charged. I emailed the Front Desk Manager and have not heard back (it's been almost a week). When we got to the room it was nice and clean, bed was comfortable, but the bathroom door squeaked horribly. So loud if someone was sleeping it would wake you up. We called the front desk to see if someone could spray the door with WD-40 and were met with silence. No answer at all. So, we went out and bought some WD-40 and fixed it ourselves. Horrible customer service. Now the location is nice within walking distance of many attractions and overall the hotel was clean.

The people there are great. You can always tell a property that has great leadership because that facility has great staff and service. Highly recommend place to stay.

Clean surroundings. Very easy to walk to nearby attractions - Red Hat Amphitheatre and Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Plenty of very nice nearby dining options.

This was the perfect quick stay through Raleigh. Was a walkable distance to my venue and parking was easy with valet.

I chose the location in order to attend my niece's graduation at the Raleigh Convention Center, which was right across the street. The check-in was quick, parking was easy and the room was extremely spacious and clean. I especially loved the little touches, like the pillow spray and coffee condiments. The Starbucks in the lobby is very convenient too. I would definitely stay in this location again!

Perfect hotel downtown Raleigh

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic location. Amazing amenities. Pampering. Large rooms. Fantastic bathroom. Comfortable beds. Can access convention center underground. Right by ret hat amphitheater. Right by Raleigh memorial auditorium. Love this hotel!

Great hotel in the heart of downtown. Convenient walkable location to capital, museums, convention center and other sightseeing. Hotel is very clean and updated. Comfortable beds! Great restaurant and bar on site. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!!

This was wonderful property. The staff were kind and helpful. The restaurant was delicious. I had two small grandchildren with me and everyone treated them nice. We visited the gym and the pool both were clean. It was very close to downtown near the museums. We went to visit. I also enjoyed the concierge parking. I’ll be back there.

The hotel was great. Very nice. Restaurant breakfast wasn’t very good. Came out cold and incorrect. Could’ve had a better breakfast at Waffle House for 1/3 the price. Service was so-so. For that type of money you would expect better.

A beautifully appointed hotel. From the lobby to the room, everything was exceptional. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar and the lively atmosphere. If ever in Raleigh in the future, this is where we will stay.
