⸻ ⭐️ 1 Star — Never Again Cold shower. Room smelled like smoke even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. Could smell and hear someone actively smoking in the room next door. Every piece of fitness equipment was broken — total waste of a “fitness center.” Would not recommend to anyone.

Check in was fine other than an odor in the lobby.Room was fine. Pool was disgusting and murky. It smelled like a hay barn in there. We left unable to use it. If you're not going to maintain it, drain it. Gross! Plus when we left our room this morning we could smell the pool upstairs! Thankfully the smell did not permeate the room. We couldn't eat the breakfast provided on site because it was right outside of the pool and there was no way we could eat next to that smell.

Elevator was broken and I was put on third floor, I am 67 yo with severe arthritis, had to drag my suitcase up the stairs!. Staff said they were working on it. Returned later after dinner still did not work

Online showed the pool was open got there the pool was closed which is the reason I was staying there and not the hotel next door to it staff at the desk was rude I got there just before 3 pm was on line w hotels.com by 3:12 and they still hit me w penalty fee even tho I feel as if it was false ad

This hotel was filthy and dirty. The pool was nonfunctioning. We did not want to bring our stuff inside. We didn't even tell them we just left and went to a clean hotel and stayed there. A refund would be nice.

This hotel needs a deep clean. The carpet was disgusting, the sink sprayed out water in every direction but down. The water had a funky odor. One day there was no hot water. We were so grossed out by the bathroom, we didn't even take a shower. The housekeeper knocked at 8:30am for room cleaning, and we asked her to come back. She never did. We had left our dirty towels on the floor, so they were still there when we got back. They were people randomly walking around the parking lot making us feel uneasy about both our car in the lot and our first floor room adjacent to the parking lot. The sofa in the room was so dirty, grimy, I wouldn't even sit on it to put on my shoes. The bed had a thin blanket on it and four small (square shape) pillows on it. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. It was Homecoming and Family weekend at Knox, so the the two night stay totalled nearly $800 with the inflated room rates. Unbelievable for how filthy and uncomfortable the room was.

Unfortunately our first room had not been cleaned. The sheets had makeup on them and were a wrinkled mess. There was food on the floors. Carpet had not been vaccumed. It smelled gross. Surfaces were not clean. Our next room was better and smelled ok but there was dried urine on the toilet seat and toothpaste splatters in the mirror and sink. One of the pillow cases was dirty and smelled. If you don’t have an issue with other people’s ick this is the place for you. If cleanliness is important to you, then avoid this place. We chose not to eat the breakfast. But did look. They had the usual little boxes of cereal, apples, bagels, and muffins. You could also make waffles.

Our 1st room had noticeable hair and debris etc when pulled the bed sheets back. Room and hallways smelled musty/mildew/unpleasant/smells. The second given room was ok, but then found a used washcloth hanging from shower rod- did not instill confidence in clean space. Lots of road noised heard, but was convenient to get back on the road quickly. Breakfast average. Price was cheap so pay for what you get. I wouldn't stay here again tho.

Our first room initially appeared clean until we opened the curtains and found over a dozen dead bugs on the window ledge. It was after I sat down on the bed and looked up that I noticed several dozen bugs on the ceiling. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom at all, and we had a very hard time finding any staff anywhere to address any situation. When we did, they eventually did move our room and the second room was fine. We’ve been staying at this hotel for the past four years as our son goes to the local college however it has severely gone down in both condition and service. We had several reservations booked over the next few months, but I’ve canceled them all and we will be staying at other hotels.

Room was very dirty. When you wiped up splattered water around the sink countertop with one of the towels the dirt on the towel was unbelievable. They must have given us one of the pet rooms because there was dog hair EVERYWHERE, the floor was covered, you could see it on the box springs, in the cabinet drawers. The website hipped up how great the buffet breakfast was, which was not good at all for what I was expecting. I personally will never stay at a Baymont by Wyndham again, for sure not the one in Galesburg IL!

It smelled musty and damp. Found black hair in shower. Old and needs updating. In the bathroom, the walls near the floor looked like they had been soaked, possible mold issue. The breakfast was not that great - cold cereal, waffles, muffins, bread. The juice machine was taped with scotch tape.

Stayed in a suite this time because we wanted more space to spread out and the option of a couch over a 2nd bed was preferred. Found the in-room phone didn’t work. The couch was directly under a painting that we kept hitting our heads on. While I’ll compliment the staff as usual I’ll also say the shower was a great temperature. My biggest hang up was the air conditioning unit that did little to cool the room. It took hours to get the room to be cool. Maybe it was the humidity.

My room was ok, just dated. Floor tiles cracked, carpet torn. Mattresses not comfortable. And I don’t appreciate the lack of a blanket. My son had reserved the suite and his “suite” was missing not only toilet paper but also a toilet roll holder. Front desk staff was helpful in resolving issues.

The desk chair should have been thrown out years ago, most of the vinyl was totally GONE! One of three lights above the sink was burnt out. Calcium spots on shower walls were awful as well! The carpeting by the elevator was pulled off the wall by the floor with staples/nails sticking out! It seemed obvious the owner or corporate hasn’t made a visit in a while😡

The gentleman at the front desk was rude and kept unbuttoning his top buttons of his shirt. Room was dirty and smelled like dog urine. When we asked for a new room the guy at the front desk said he couldn’t change us rooms because we booked through a third party aka hotels.com. We asked for a refund so we could go across the parking lot to holiday inn he also said no. Worst hotel experience so wasted money on this hotel to go across the parking lot to stay at the holiday inn.

The property warrants 4*, but the young man at the front desk on July 22nd 4pm had far more important activities in offices behind the front desk than tending to hotel guest. The guest before be had to ring the desk phone for 30 seconds before he came to help. Afterward he headed back to the office area and left me standing there. I also had to ring the phone to get his attention. When he appeared, he had a look of dismay that I interrupted him. For that reason I gave a 3* review and will look elsewhere for a hotel on return trips.

Check-in was great. Staff was very helpful. The room was okay. The carpet was odd, just loose on the ends and flared up against the wall, like it wasnt cut after installation. There were some random pieces of trash in the ground like a toothpick in the bathroom and what looked like nail clippings on the counter. Surfaces seemed clean other than that

We were (not) greeted on arrival by a front desk clerk that acted as though it was an imposition to check us in. She was gruff and just plain rude. We saw the signs as we moved up to our guest room- too much air freshener to cover up the odors, dirt on the floors, a filthy elevator. A glance at the pool showed slime on the surface. Our guest room was no better- a dirty toilet seat, something running down the bathroom wall, grunge on the floors. If we had not been in a time pinch to attend my husband's uncle's celebration of life we certainly would have found a different hotel. DO NOT stay at this hotel!

Room was clean, toilet was a little dirty, but I carry bleach wipes and santitizer with me. Bed was nice with lots of pillows. Unfortunately, there was a very intoxicated couple that was yelling in the hallway at 4:30 am. But that was not the hotels fault. Breakfast is basic, but good, oatmeal, boiled eggs, sandwhiches to heat up. Parking lot is nice and lit up, hotel is at a dead end street which is nice.

This hotel is less than 10 minutes from the Amtrak train station so it was very convenient. I was surprised it had a pool and continental breakfast in the morning. Those two things are always a plus but I only had coffee in the morning because my trip was short. The room was basic, pretty comfortable,good tv channels, the heat worked. The only issue I had was getting into my room but the man working the front desk was very helpful and I travel a lot so that was not a big deal. Just a little updating needed but overall I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very welcoming. One thing to keep in mind is that it only has one cab company so if you are depending on transportation I would definitely call a few hours ahead. I thought I may need a cab but I was able to get rides from my friend and her family who lived not to far away.

Check in was simple and quick, room was clean, bathroom ceiling needed repairs, but shower and hot water was amazing. Room is old school with appliances and fixtures, several outlets available, in all the right places, but no new features like usb plugs. Breakfast was sparse, Belgian waffles and microwave sausage egg biscuits along with cereal and other cold items, no juices, just coffee and pints of milk. Overall I’d stay again, but would definitely plan to have breakfast somewhere else.

It was a great stay! The pool looked nice, but they seemed to be having a swim class so we didnt swim. Breakfast was good, hard boiled eggs, Jimmy Dean sandwiches, yogurts, etc. The location was perfect, we walked to HyVee for snacks, and no highway noise despite the close proximity to it.
