The room was clean and my grandkids had a great time. The area that needs cleaning is the stairway. The negative for me was the strong chlorine fumes. My eyes nose and throat were affected by it. It took a few days for my eyes and throat to feel better. I understand why so much chlorine is needed, but I will probably not go back due to this.

Parking is a nightmare, being disabled and the spots all full, we had to walk way too far, front desk staff were amazing, most of the other, shops, etc very short, not friendly nor helpful, not kid friendly, . The rooms good, food very expensive, and pkgs. Are very confusing, and expensive. Overall experience was good, but a bit disappointed with attitude and staff interactions.

We’ve been coming to GWL Grand Mound for years, and our kids have always loved it. It’s definitely expensive, but in the past it always felt worth what we paid. After not visiting for about three years, we were really disappointed to see how much the experience has gone downhill despite the renovations. The prices seem just as high, but the quality and overall experience are not what they used to be. Knowing what we used to get for the money makes it even more disappointing. One of our biggest frustrations was the staff. We were told “I don’t know” by multiple employees, with little effort to help us find an answer. At check-in, the employee couldn’t answer several questions, said she didn’t know much about the app, and gave me a number to text instead. When trying to find the ropes course, an employee was “pretty sure” we could access it through the waterpark. We couldn’t. Another employee also didn’t know, so we eventually figured out ourselves that we had to go back through the lobby and outside. MagiQuest also shuts off at 10 p.m. now, along with almost everything else. After 10, the arcade is basically the only thing left to do. Even the refill stations are shut off, so the souvenir cups you paid for can’t be used. We have a lot of great memories at GWL, which makes this even more disappointing. We’ve always accepted the high price because the experience felt worth it. Unfortunately, it no longer does. After many visits over the years, this will sadly be our last.
