Hotel Las Farolas

I appreciate that the hotel includes breakfast, and the parking is conveniently located within the hotel premises. The staff is always friendly and attentive, ensuring that the rooms and bathrooms are always clean and well-maintained.

There is on site parking which is great. The local TikTok taxis are always on saying by which is great but being in at edge of the local downtown always lead to new opportunities if choice to be walk to hotspots.

The staff at Las Farolas are wonderful — very accommodating of special requests. We enjoy staying here as the rooms are comfortable, breakfast is good and convenient (the restaurant serves other meals, too) and the garden is delightful. The walk is not too far to other restaurants and the parque central.

This property was beautiful, quiet, clean and safe! The staff were always ready to help and helped us book private safe transport to and from the airport. They provide you a map with walkable attractions which most of them are free. Our room was quiet, the beds were nice and hot water showers were great. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and stay here again!

A welcomimg hotel indeed. Greeted with a smile even at 2am after flight delays and good airport transfer. Comfortable rooms overlooking beautiful garden, offering sneak peeks of the two Volcanoes nearby. Breakfast is superb, coffee out of this world. All sights and eating and drinking are easily walkable.

Room was spotless, staff was friendly and the location was quiet. This is our second time staying here because it is a really lovely property.

Very clean, friendly staff, parking available, comfortable beds, good breakfast the only problem I encounter was no hot water for showering.

I recently stayed at this hotel and honestly, it was a beautiful experience. The property is charming and well-kept, with daily room cleaning and a strong focus on guest comfort. While some minor cosmetic updates could elevate the space even more, the customer service truly made up for it the staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The front desk team was consistently warm and welcoming, and the safety here is unmatched. The hotel entrance stays locked 24/7, and someone is always at the front to buzz you in. That level of security made me feel extremely safe. One major plus? You’re within walking distance of everything in the city super convenient if you’re trying to explore without relying on constant transportation. They also held my bags for free after checkout so I could explore more of the city stress-free. Bathroom dirty, TV didn’t function and false publicity for bathroom for disabled person

The rooms are clean and spacious, althought they use a strong desinfectant odor that stays in the room but can be solved if you open the windows and door for a few hours. This is the best hotel for staying. The breakfast is ok, but you can get better options from walking distance like San Martin. Overall it is a quiet hotel if you choose the inside rooms and not the ones facing the street.

The staff was definitely excellent. A very nice breakfast is included with your stay. They offer authentic Guatemalan dishes as well as international choices (pancakes, oatmeal). The food was delicious and the presentation top notch. This place has an amazing garden and the restaurant is in the middle. You literally feel like you are in the rain forest, just beautiful. A security guard at the front door made us feel safe. The room was spacious, clean, but it had a slight moldy smell. I know it’s Antigua, but I could see the black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The hotel is located about 5 blocks from the Central Park. You have to walk about a block to start to come across businesses. The rooms are located on the street side. You hear the traffic as if you were out side. Buses, trucks, motorcycles, cars, on cobblestone street (you get the point). There was a problem with the water system when I was there. The shower went from nice to just hot or cold. I would not stay hear again mainly because of the traffic noise. I felt like a truck was going to come through the wall at any second.

Positives: Breakfast is excellent and rooms are spacious. Negatives: We did not have hot water in the shower for our entire stay (2 days). Staff were not helpful in trying to fix the problem, Difficult to sleep as there is a lot of noise from street traffic. Our room was stuffy (we visited the hotel in February) as our room did not have an A/C or a ceiling fan and we could not open the windows (bugs, street traffic).

What a cool hotel! The room and grounds are beautiful. They have their own mini jungle in the middle of a town. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was included and tasty, especially the incredibly fresh, delicious fruit and juice. Good WiFi, gracious staff

Camas duras, pero todo bien

The property, while fully modern, was decorated to give the impression of a "colonial"-era facility. The rooms are large, comfortably furnished and well lit. They are well maintained and clean. A couple of amenities could have enhanced the experience: a small fridge, coffee maker or even a kettle (and mugs). The hotel is 4 long blocks south of the Plaza - a bit of a walk but also isolated from downtown noise. (I stayed during the recent Semana Santa celebrations, and the place was peaceful and quiet throughout.) Breakf\\ast was always good (off the somewhat limited menu) and served with panache. Also, staff were uniformly friendly, professional and helpful. Special thanks to Vicky and here colleague at reception who so patiently helped me sort out a taxi issue. Thanks to all.

Firs night the room was too noisy. It was located behind the kitchen and in-front of dining room. Next day I complained, and they moved us to a different room.

The staff is amicable and helpful. The weather was really hot and there was no AC in the bedroom. A fan wasn't enough. Plus, there was no fridge to keep our drinks cool.

The property and room were charming. The only thing is that the walls were paper thin and the noise from outside the room was very audible inside. It’s probably because the building was old.

Muy contento en la estadia de esta propiedad, la ayencion fue muy buena, la limpieza excelente, la tranquilidad al estar en la habitacion y hasta en la recepcion nos solucionaron el vambio de la habitacion porque teniamos asignada una en el piso de arriba, pero andaba con mis suegros que son personas muy mayores y me dieron otra en el piso de abajo. Gracias pir todo y en mi otra visitas volveria a quedarme aqui.

L’emplacement est bien et il y a une bonne sécurité pour l’entrée. Par contre, le service du personnel est vraiment de mauvaise qualité: temps d’attente pour le déjeuner extrêmement long, ils ont chargé deux chambres à ma soeur en donnant une seule clé pour une chambre. Lorsqu’elle a voulu démêler le malentendu, ils ont manqué de collaboration. Et ils ont insisté pour lui charger une chambre libre dont elle n’avait jamais eu les clés. De plus, le personnel est arrogant. Je ne recommande pas! J’ai déjà été à d’autres hôtels et le service était beaucoup mieux.

For $50 USD (max 3 people) they will pick you up from the airport. Had a driver come get me with my name(it was an alias name I made). Hotel was super communicative. The hotel was helpful and spoke good English. They have a gate lock and security. I felt very safe here. Breakfast was made to Order, the food was delicious. I told the front desk, Rosario, I had to go somewhere at 2 when I arrived. She was able to secure me a room earlier. I was able to leave luggage with them but it was very little space for it. The room was spacious and clean. The shower too. It was wonderful stay, would stay here and recommend again. Close to park central (7-10 min walk) but quiet.

Anything good about our 3 nights is erased by the lack of care and concern received from the front desk staff and the gentlemen in charge of maintenance. We expressed our problem the following morning to the front desk staff and we were assured that the issue would be resolve. There was no follow up by them and the following morning we again express the problem with the drainage of our shower... again nothing was done. We ran into the maintenance guy and requested that he look into it --- nothing. Note that there is no communication gap since I am fluent in Spanish. We then proceed to check out and ,what is no customary in customer service, no interest was shown in asking how our 3 night stay have been. Unfortunate because there is a lot of positives here. For me, not again!

Property was nice and clean, room clean and quiet, one female staff was extremely unwelcoming, and dismissive, looked like she was fed up with her job all the times I saw her at the front desk, my check in was at 1500 so I waited and I saw her letting other people check in and asked 10mins early because people were just getting keys, she rudely said 1500. After she left a male staff let me check in right away at 1455 because the rooms were already ready. I know everyone else was nice but one person can ruin the experience for you.

Hotel Las Farolas is a great option for Antigua. It is on the south edge of town just a few blocks from Parque Central. It is quiet, safe, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot water was good and so was the water pressure. That is something that can be difficult to find in Guatemala. Staying here was a great experience.

The lush garden filled with vibrant plants and flowers makes it feel like you’re staying in a tropical oasis. Despite the tranquil setting, the location is incredibly convenient — just a 10-minute walk to the central square, the iconic Santa Catalina Arch, and plenty of great restaurants and cafés in the surrounding area. A perfect balance of relaxation and accessibility — we truly enjoyed our stay here!

Staff was kind and attentive. Breakfast was a disappointment. Breakfast Items that were included were minimal. If you wanted a normal size breakfast, there was a charge for more items. They should include a normal size breakfast. The staff was kind to pack a breakfast if you have an early excursion or airport transfer. I had an issue with a filthy showerhead that was covered in grime. They cleaned it after I showed them pictures. Hot water was minimal and my showers went from hot to cold throughout the length of my shower. Staff will arrange tours for guests, but the price for tours is higher than if you arrange them yourself online. Their recommended tour company for Lake tour was a disappointment and hotel kindly provided a refund since tour was so bad. Lastly, hotel was not flexible in altering my reservation from 5 night to 4 nights even tho I was allowed to change reservation. All I wanted was to arrive a day later. They said Hotels.com needed to change it, and Hotels.com said the hotel needed to change it. Hotels.com said the hotel refused to change it because there was no “availability”. This didn’t make sense since I already had a reservation for the 4 nights I wanted to stay. I only wanted to cancel the first night of my reservation. They had many excuses including that the computer system would only allow the change if there was availability. Hotel wouldn’t manually cancel first night. After a week of unsuccessful communication, I was able to do it myself online.

Habitación muy limpia. El personal de restaurante es impersonal y presionan bastante con el tema del costo extra de cualquier cosa que uno pide. Deben tener mejor formación y hacerlo sutilmente. Ponerle jugo de naranja artificial al jugo de frutas es un desastre, no lo hagan. Mejor eviten dar jugo o den agua de flor de Jamaica! Mejorar ese tapete tan feo de la entrada y propongo pongan flores frescas o hojas frescas en un jarrón.
