the room was in very poor condition. The sink plug did not work, the tap was broken, the skirting boards needed painting, the desk was damaged, the chairs were worm and fraying, a lamp was broken and towels were dirty.

First room was shocking, toilet seat fell off, dirt around windows and extremely smelly. Room changed. Second room the shower spray pointed in every direction but down. The bar staff stated that she can not pour certain pints or halves of cider, either poor training or not interested. Check took for ever and totally unorganised. The breakfast was what can only be described as disgusting. Coffee machine did not work. One of our worst hotel experiences ever.

Although the hotel is a little 'tired', the facilities with the pool and jacuzzi etc are a welcome treat, and I have no hesitation to come back again. The staff are very helpful and they accommodated my request for a ground floor room, which I appreciated. My superior room was very dated decor wise, and smaller than the last one I had at this hotel, but the bed was comfy and the corner whirlpool bath was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was OK, a reasonable choice, but they have stopped offering fruit, or bagels, or philadelphia pots .. which used to be my 'go to' choice. Lunch and evening meals offer good sized portions and are very nice (if a little expensive). Overall a great stay, whilst the pool is there I will be back.
