Nothing was too much trouble for owners Paul & Debbie and Lisa & Charlotte who served our food & drinks were a joy. Room was very comfortable & clean and food was delicious. The bonus of live music on our last night was unexpected and extremely lively and entertaining. Cannot recommend more highly!

We have just returned from a four night stay at the New Inn, Winchelsea and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's located right in the centre of the village and parking at the premises was never a problem. The landlord and landlady are a lovely couple and their staff are very pleasant and welcoming. Our accommodation was excellent. The room was extremely clean with fresh linen and towels everyday. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom well stocked. Unlike some places I have stayed in, hot water for showering etc was available at all times. We had an early dinner at the inn on two occasions and the food was excellent, very tasteful, fresh ingredients and well cooked. The complimentary breakfast was cooked to order and provided a great and filling start to the day. The inn has a beer garden and food can be taken outside if desired . The place is well located to use as a base for exploring the local area and we hope to enjoy the hospitality again soon. I recommend this place for a relaxing break. Andrew McIntyre

We loved this little Inn and all the people who worked there, especially Paul and the lovely waitrss we had both nights. They were so friendly and very helpful. And just nice people to talk to. The New Inn is very quaint and charming. Not too fancy, but perfect for a great stay in a beautiful village and the food was fabulous, both breakfast and dinner. And we found great drinks to keep us quenched. I would live there if I could!

Winchelsea is a beautiful community and The New Inn is in its centre. Off the entrance is a warm and welcoming pub and the proprietor and staff are very helpful. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast is generous and the atmosphere very pleasant. Excellent value although shopping is a drive away.

Amazing staff. Great full english breakfast. Dinner at The New Inn was also good. Nice big room with a view of the beautiful church accross the road. Beautiful small town with a great relaxed feel. Good bed, tea & coffee in the room. Good shower pressure. Bus pick up & drop off right next to the hotel in Winchelsea. Handy to both Rye (10 mins)& Hastings(35 mins)via route 100 bus. Has a lovely outside beer garden.This is a character stay not a new build. As such it had all the quirks & charm you would expect in a building a couple of centuries old. We loved it.

Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it. For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view. Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare. What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out.

Vicinissimo a Rye ma anche a un ora di auto sia dalla Canterbury che dalle insuperabili Seven sister. We had a really wonderful time at The New Inn! The location was perfect - right in the middle of Winchelsea which is a quiet, beautiful little town, but only a 5/10 minute drive to Rye. The room was lovely and really comfortable - one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in! The food was great, and the staff were really lovely and helpful. All in all a fantastic stay - I'd have no hesitations returning or recommending to a friend :)

All was fine until the morning when we put the kettle on the the circuit tripped . Then went to get ready for breakfast and there was no hot water at all. Not a good start to the day. Breakfast was good and made up for the inconvenience

Amazing staff. Great full english breakfast. Dinner at The New Inn was also good. Nice big room with a view of the beautiful church accross the road. Beautiful small town with a great relaxed feel. Good bed, tea & coffee in the room. Good shower pressure. Bus pick up & drop off right next to the hotel in Winchelsea. Handy to both Rye (10 mins)& Hastings(35 mins)via route 100 bus. We had a really wonderful time at The New Inn! The location was perfect - right in the middle of Winchelsea which is a quiet, beautiful little town, but only a 5/10 minute drive to Rye. The room was lovely and really comfortable - one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in! The food was great, and the staff were really lovely and helpful. All in all a fantastic stay - I'd have no hesitations returning or recommending to a friend :)

We have just returned from a four night stay at the New Inn, Winchelsea and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's located right in the centre of the village and parking at the premises was never a problem. The landlord and landlady are a lovely couple and their staff are very pleasant and welcoming. Our accommodation was excellent. The room was extremely clean with fresh linen and towels everyday. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom well stocked. Unlike some places I have stayed in, hot water for showering etc was available at all times. We had an early dinner at the inn on two occasions and the food was excellent, very tasteful, fresh ingredients and well cooked. The complimentary breakfast was cooked to order and provided a great and filling start to the day. The inn has a beer garden and food can be taken outside if desired . The place is well located to use as a base for exploring the local area and we hope to enjoy the hospitality again soon. I recommend this place for a relaxing break. Andrew McIntyre

Winchelsea is a beautiful community and The New Inn is in its centre. Off the entrance is a warm and welcoming pub and the proprietor and staff are very helpful. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast is generous and the atmosphere very pleasant. Excellent value although shopping is a drive away.

Our stay was excellent and very enjoyable, all as expected for a 4star hotel, very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble, food excellent can’t fault anything except perhaps trying to keep the sash windows open!

Our room was spacious, comfortble and clean. The breakfasts were very tasty and substantial. We ate dinner in the restaurant where the food was delicious with generous portions. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We would highly recommend and would happily stay there again.

Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it. For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view. Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare. What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out.

Lovely bright room, spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The pub is very old and quirky with low doorways and sloping floors but that's it's charm. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was really good. Evening pub meals were tasty and very well priced. Overall a pleasant place to stay in a beautiful village ( though it is actually officially a tow!)
