Nice place to stay while traveling North on I 5. The restaurant was very good! However…. Hotels.com advertised a pool on property. The pool was not in operation due to some construction. I would have picked another property had I known this ahead of time.

The pool was drained, as was the jacuzzi. The ice machine was turned off. Honestly, i didn't take the time to inquire why...it seemed obvious that i wouldn't get to enjoy those amenities. It was very poor timing to have each of those amenities unavailable during a heatwave.

It would’ve been fine trip, however the hotel never contacted us about the pool being out of service or we would’ve found another hotel to stay at. We small children and they wanted to swim in a pool when it is 100+ outside. The site never said they pool was out of service either. So when we got to the hotel at 8pm to check-in it was a horrible surprise about the pool.

Staff was accommodating, very nice restaurant on the property. Pool and hot tub were nice and they have an outdoor seating area with fire pits that you can use all night string lights throughout the property gave it a nice ambience.

Place is filthy. Cob webs and spiders in our room and bathroom had black mold covered walls. Hair and grin everywhere in bathroom. Worst case scenario. Hotel refused refund our money. Outside our room smells like human pee. Utterly disgusting!

Unfortunately the rooms are showing their age and ownership isn't doing any upgrades. The carpets were real dusty in the corners, carpets are dirty, the box springs and mattress were ew. I really love it there but even with the rooms being affordable, without some upgrades and better cleaning, we will not be staying anymore.

The property grounds were well kept and really pretty. But the room was dingy, dark and dated. The bathroom sink was leaky and the wall near shower was moldy. Headboard was dingy and the room needed updates. Restaurant was excellent and staff was friendly.

We’ve stayed at the property many times since they opened. It has definitely declined in its ratings. There was a lot of dust on the surfaces in the room, bathrooms are looking rundown, and breakfast was absolutely disgusting!!!! A lot of the trees and landscaping have died.

There was mold all around the tub and wall, and on the shower curtain. I walked across the room and back the bottom of my feet were black!!! Carpet was filthy!!!! Housekeeping never cleaned the room all four days there.

This was supposed to be my quick stop for a sleep on a long road trip. The first room that I’ve received had a broken heater, shoe print on the their bed sheet, and found hairs in the bed. Asked for a new room as the room wouldn’t heat up. Next room, the door won’t close all the way and a broken lamp switch. I won’t be returning.

Loved the outdoor spaces. No phone in the room, so I was unable to call the front office in the middleof the night. NOT quiet. Neighbor had barking dogs. People above us stomped around until past 2 am on both nights of our stay. If you stay request upstairs. The rooms are not very sound proof. Floors were not cleaned properly and the shower was outdated. Price of room was very reasonable.

Everything was going good till the night time! The fridge started to make a horrible sound around 1am and got worse every second, had to get up and unplug it there was no phone so we could call the from desk, then the heater went out and could not turn back on

This hotel was a very nice find for a one night stay. Nice rooms, lovely setting around two ponds, and also walking distance to the bank of the Sac river. Interesting layout of the buildings - each circular with a planting area in the middle. Beds were comfy and rooms were spacious and quiet and cool. I can recommend this reasonably priced yet lovely hotel.

This is a solid 4 star hotel. I would have given it 5 stars but we had an issue with communication. It is a good value hotel. Needs to be renovated but was clean and the A/C was great in the 100 degree heat.

Staff was extremely friendly. I mean EXTREMELY friendly (one, Kelly, saw I had a surfboard and offered me two he had received for a job he’d done in LA. Mines tail had just come off so it was a life saver. 2 free surfboards. How’s that for customer service!) The waitress, Diana, was very friendly as well. 50% off breakfast if you stay there meaning I got a pretty good breakfast for about $10. (It’s actual restaurant quality not a breakfast bar.) Has a little “lagoon” (some ponds and fountains) but the Sacramento River was right there! So I just walked down there and sat. Which was very beautiful and teeming with nature. Very peaceful. Could use a path or bench down there. Would recommend. Would stay again. Not expensive. Nice place.

We stay here, because we have family in the area. But, this stay was uncomfortable, because of a rude and unfriendly employee. We were locked out of our room. We went to the lobby get a different card key and it also didn't work. Then this employee forced us to move rooms. We had to move to another room clear across the complex. I was told at check in and over the phone that we would be able to stay in the same room even though it was two separate reservations. I had to stay an extra night because of my parent's funeral arrangements. I was hot, tired and sad! This employee was not at all empathetic and unaccomidating.

The area was nice and we liked our room. However, the service was terrible. We asked for the room cleaning for three days, which we called the front desk, went to front desk, talked to multiple people, and still did not receive until we decided to check out early. According to them, they don’t provide room cleaning service during the weekend and not after 5 pm. Why did not they inform us before when we contacted the front desk in the first place? Regardless, they said they would send the service to us, promising to exchange the towels, take out the trash, but it was all done after three days. People should not have to beg for service.

I needed a place to stay during a trip up to northern Oregon. Found this wonderful location just off the I-5 and a little south of Redding. A very unique and comfortable place to lay one’s head!! Rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms, a great shower with plenty of pressure to spare. I would recommend to all!!

We will be staying here again in the future. The hotel staff was friendly and fast at checkin. Housekeeping came everyday we were there and made the bed/ cleaned the room. The room looked like it was newly renovated. The grounds were nicely manicured. You can walk right down to the Sacramento River from the hotel. While they didn’t have breakfast included their restaurant was very nice and they gave a 25% off coupon to use for breakfast everyday of our trip. It’s off the highway and only 10min from downtown Redding but very safe.

We have stayed here before. Nice location and property. Great if you are going to Whiskeytown or Shasta. Just south of Redding, so very convenient. Quiet residential neighborhood just off freeway. Some freeway noise, but not bad.

The lady that checked us in was pleasant to everyone in front of me, that's rare these days. She listened, addressed and was very clear with the instructions for breakfast and where to go to your room. We checked in 8/10 around 4pm if her bosses read this, she is an asset! Dinner was amazing!! We shared the burger and the short ribs, bomb 💣, seriously! The beds are a little older but comfortable and the pillows are ok, bring your own if you are picky. Over all, I love it there AND if you get a chance you can go to living water spa that is, on site and have Makalya (spelling?) give you a massage, she is magical!

Traveling between OR and CA this is a good location but when we arrived, while the check-in was great, there wasn’t much parking near our room. Round buildings made our room a bit hard to find. Not a very extensive “breakfast”. Just biscuits and gravy. GPS location was a bit off so look for the woodside grill restaurant and the desk is near there. That restaurant was closed by 9pm and not opened for breakfast.

Pros: Great location off highway, right next to the Sacramento River. Service at hotel and restaurant were great. Outdoor area was OK, quite dirty but the pond had a water feature with lillypads which was cute. Cons: Remote was broken, dirty handprints on the drapes leading out to the porch, stained carpets, busted furniture, refrigerator was warm, the room was awfully dark and dingy, and someone kept slamming doors all hours of the night which made sleeping a nightmare. For the price, I was not really pleased. I also tried the restaurant- the burger and cocktail were great but PLEASE avoid the artichoke dip at all costs. The flavor was terrible and it was incredibly greasy. My husband had the club sandwich and it was ok, but the bread was not toasted and the crust was so chewy it made eating it unpleasant. No breakfast is included in the price either. If youre looking for a nice hotel, keep looking. This is an overpriced motel with no continental breakfast, at best.

We like to stay at The Gaia because it is close to our grand children. The staff at the front desk(especially Rhonda) is amazing! The restaurant is hit and miss depending on who is cooking. The dishes never seem to be the same even though it appears the same on the menu. The rooms (especially bathrooms) really need to be updated. The lighting is very bad in the rooms and bathrooms. But the beds are usually comfy. The grounds are also very beautiful!

Beautiful property, courteous staff amazing food at the Woodside Grill. It is a little on the darker side in the coloring inside the property so if your vision and impaired or have low vision, there needs to be a little more lights, but great experience overall.
