Excellent stop especially for dogs they know what they have to do with dogs ie hard floors so they can clean thoroughly. They think of everything a dog needs even towels at the door for raining days

A one night stop on our journey from Scotland to Devon. This is our stopover of choice due to its location and comfort. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious and clean however the vinyl flooring took away previous cosiness and left it feeling cold and echoey. Please bring back carpet! Bed was 6ft but sadly a complete mattress instead of zip link which meant any movement from a partner could be felt. Bedding was soft and clean with plump duvet and pillows. The bathroom can always feel chilly and despite having a towel radiator this never came on during our stay. The plumbing also needed some attention as the toilet would make a rather loud, strange noise after the cistern refilled. In room tea and coffee are always well stocked and accompanied by delicious handmade biscuits. The 2 bottles of water (1 still, 1 sparkling) are a welcome additional touch. We used the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. There is a great choice and the quality of the food never disappoints. There is ample free car parking on site and 6 EV chargers. These are pricey at 64p per kWh and are slow but with the assumption cars will charge overnight and also stops people from services next door from using them. Overall another good stay and expect we will return on our next trip to Scotland.

This is a very convenient and restful hotel when driving up or down the M6. It is a real oasis with well designed rooms that are very quiet despite being fairly close to a busy motorway. The restaurant has an excellent menu and the bar is cosy and well stocked. All the staff were helpful and cheerful. I would recommend without reservation.

Lovely lovely staff, warm inviting and comfortable lounge area with fire. A quiet hotel...perfectly placed. As a solo female traveller , I feel safe, secure and comfortable. Particularl mention to the housekeeping ladies who were just lovley.

Always enjoying staying, a hidden gem. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent food both at dinner and breakfast. The lounge/bar area has been refreshed and now has more sofas and chairs to relax in front of the open fire.

Great stay - super dog friendly accommodation - with areas for those not on holiday with their pooch! Was nice to have ate at services on the doorstep - but we had evening meal and breakfast at the property. The meals were of high quality. The staff were so helpful and really made the stay delightful. Will return at every opportunity.

Room was fairly clean ( it did smell rather strongly of disinfectant ) but bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied the bath taps had not been wiped clean and the blanket on the bed had a rather nasty large brown stain on it.( took a photo to show reception) We did raise this when we checked out and got an apology saying maybe it was tomato ketchup but that was it - not much of an apology really.

The hotels is situated in lovely grounds. Although attached to a service station it also has its own resteraunt anc bar area. Really nice staff. A very nice stay as always.

Easy to access from motorway. Nice views and grounds from the room across moorland to the hills. Hotel was very clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Would be very happy to stay there again.

Booked for a night stop on our journey north. The hotel is in a beautifully quiet, scenic location. Hard to believe it is just off the M6. Rooms are a good size, beds are probably the best ever, so comfortable! The homemade biscuits and bottled water are a welcome touch. Restaurant serves a good selection of delicious homemade meals. Staff are all very welcoming. Really can’t fault this place.

Extraordinarily comfortable and well appointed without ostentatious or cloying luxury. Staff members were genuine, professional, on the ball and helpful. Food was delicious. Outstanding attention to detail. Had a great bike ride around the eastern Lake District and Westmorland Dales. Would like to stay there again. Totally sound northern stuff.

All great and very friendly. The only problem we had was our room suffered from intermittent plant vibration which woke us until we got used to it. We will be making sure were not located there again.

It’s hard to comment properly as we arrived late in the dark but even still the staff on the desk were so friendly greeting us, and super helpful and understanding when I realised I’d made a mistake with the booking. It’s lovely and quiet despite being so close to the motorway. Immediately put at ease and reassured that it’s a great place to stay, even if as it is for us just an overnight stopover mid journey.

This is our second stay and while it was thoughtful to have the same room, the hot water ran out and after a ten hour trip I did not feel minded to get dressed and move rooms. Lack of real response from management was disappointing. The couple in the room next to ours also had water issues, their toilet stopped work about the same time, 9:30 pm on the night of 22nd November 24. Will not be staying again.

The book in stated we could arrive anytime and as such, we arrived at 1pm, but were told not only that we could not get our room to 3pm, but we couldn’t leave our bags anywhere safe in the hotel. We therefore left for our meet up with friends and didn’t get into our room until 10pm. This service need better clarity on the early log in option.

3rd stay here en route to Kendal Calling and every time I've been impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the team. Room, dinner, and breakfast all excellent.

Westmorland hotel is a no brainer as a stopover for the 10 hr journey to the Scottish Highlands. I have not met such friendly and helpful staff in a long time. The room was vast with great views. We walked down to the farmshop and bought some goodies. In the morning we turned left out of the hotel and had a lovely short walk along a quiet lane. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was fresh and tasted amazing. I cannot believe how convenient it is for the M6.

Yes it's in a motorway service stop but Tebay shows how it can and should be done. Easy to access from motorway. Nice views and grounds from the room across moorland to the hills. Hotel was very clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Would be very happy to stay there again.

Extraordinarily comfortable and well appointed without ostentatious or cloying luxury. Staff members were genuine, professional, on the ball and helpful. Food was delicious. Outstanding attention to detail. Had a great bike ride around the eastern Lake District and Westmorland Dales. Would like to stay there again. Totally sound northern stuff.

Lovely convenient place to stay and dog friendly without charging extortionate cost. Great food in restaurant and services. The only issue we found was that in the dog friendly rooms the floor is cork, which makes sense for cleaning. But when you sit up in bed and put your back against the headboard the bed rolls away from the wall!

Great friendly hotel just of the M6. Wonderful for a break of journey or a stop in the Lake District. Easy direct access to surrounding area plus M6 north & South. Tebay farm shop & services nearby. Yet hotel is quiet & tranquil while welcoming to children. Good breakfast & meals in hotel but they do struggle with peak demand. If you are not in a rush it is wonderful. If you are there is always the lovely services. Much nicer than typical motorway lodges

Overall this is one of the best motorway service area hotels that I have come across and will be top of my options to break a drive to Scotland. My main complaint is that the breakfast options didn't have a wide variety of fruit and other healthy options. Plenty of full English and croissants but little for someone with a low carbohydrate dietary requirement.

This is a very convenient and restful hotel when driving up or down the M6. It is a real oasis with well designed rooms that are very quiet despite being fairly close to a busy motorway. The restaurant has an excellent menu and the bar is cosy and well stocked. All the staff were helpful and cheerful. I would recommend without reservation.

Great hotel. Architecture angular with defined offsets. Water feature outside really pleasant even in the rain. Oh dear. Came down for breakfast. HALF a bacon rasher, HALF a mushroom no toast or beans unless you requested it. Basically a childs portion. Go into their service station and you get a FULL English breakfast for less than the price in the hotel. And I mean FULL ENGLISH. ☹️

Room we were in only accessed by stairs but we managed. There are other rooms with easier access if required. The staff are always lovely and helpful. The views from the lounge and dining room onto the water feature are beautiful. We have stayed a few times when travelling north or south.
