Super 8 by Wyndham Rochester

While we were trying to relax the fire alarm kept going off. Apparently someones child kept pulling it. It really made it inconvenient because we had to keep walking up & down the stairs since they dont have an elevator!! Not to mention having a sore ankle the back & forth 6 times over the alarm made it even worse!!

The property, especially outside, was not kept up. Trash, un-mowed lawn weeds, a shopping cart outside an entrance etc. Stairwells were dirty. Room was fine but otherwise not a good appearance. We would not utilize this property again.

No very warm and fuzzy when you pull up and a bunch of people are hanging out in the parking lot by all the vehicles looking in. Parking lot not well lit. Walk up to my room and there’s a guy knocking on doors asking for toilet paper since there wasn’t any in his room. Room was clean-ish. Tub was gross. Front desk people not easily found. Waited over 30 min for someone to check me in. Overall worst experience at a Super 8. I checked out after 2hrs of being there. No questions asked by staff and no offer to make things right. Wasted $120 on a room I couldn’t stay in.

Overall good stay. You get what you pay for and that is what this property is. Clean with no frills. I would seriously spend some time cleaning up the landscaping. It really gives an awful first impression

Room was clean and had been updated. Staff was friendly. The building and grounds were not maintained well and the side door into the stairway would not close on its own and would stay open allowing anyone to enter. Landscaping around the building was very over grown.

There was no elevator. We arrived when it was dark out and the property was not well lit with few cars in the parking lot. It didn’t feel safe. We checked in and our room key was a reprogrammed old Pizza Hut gift card with the room number written on it with a Sharpie. It was very loud. I could hear every door shut and the room next to me clearly. Our room was clean and the staff friendly.

Condition and lighting in the lobby was terrible and no elevator to the 2nd floor. Plus AC unit was worn out and and ran constantly with insane noise!

Before I booked, I read many reviews, there were no other options available near so I was not expecting much. Here is a summary, Pro. 1.Great location. 2.Clean Rooms. 3.Free Breakfast. 4.Polite staff. 5.Everything in the room worked fine. Con 1.Heavy cigarette smell in room 2.No elevator 3.Towels are small and worn out. 4.Building is Old. 5.Outside grounds are not maintained well. Definitely would stay here again!

No shops really close. Air con fine. Worst part of trip was no lights in parking lot made us insecure. People sitting in cars and unknow if they were guests. As soon as we arrived there were two men smoking right out side the entrance door even though there is a sign that that state prohibited smoking within 8 feet of door.(see picture) brought it up at front desk and lady just shrugged her sholders.

The lobby doors were propped open no air conditioning no lights on had to wait for someone to check us in. It is a creepy location with a creepy hotel definitely not staying there again.

room and bedding where dirty. towels were dingy. outside of hotel looked shabby, not maintained. room had a stale cigarette oder.

I arrived to a dark lobby, once I received my room key, I entered the room that was never cleaned, went back to front desk, got another room, entered that room, it was also dirty and not clean, I went back down to the front desk to get a different room, and 3 time was a charm. The issue in the room was the shower control was about falling of the show wall, looked like someone just tried to apply a bunch of caulk all around it. When I woke up for breakfast, I eat and never saw an employee. Seems to have bad management, it is an out dated hotel.

The room was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. We had no problems during our stay.

Roaches in our room and a used bar of soap in shower like it wasn’t cleaned after the last guest.

Complete list of issues is too long to list here. Main points were: Hotel is infested with more than one kind of bug, sex workers hangout out in front and inside the lobby, rooms are extremely dirty, and I was there for less than 15 minutes. Did not stay either of the 2 nights that were book and was refused a refund, as if the manager or owner would stay there. I would not allow my pets to stay in a hotel like this.

We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was not cleaned and garbage not emptied the whole time we were there. Had to take our used towels to desk and ask for clean towels each day.

Property staff knock each door at 9:30am on Sunday morning for cleaning! Property is dirty and smelly. Bedsheets has stains on them

Our tub was dirty. The room smelled like a tavern even though we asked for a non smoking room.

The shower was so dirty I couldn't take a shower ☹️ Also, there was a smelly funk in the room...

Front desk clerk was very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms seem to have been relatively recently updated (carpet, furnishings, decorations). Overall, it was clean and quiet and a good “sleeping room.”

The room was ok. But it was cold and snowing and the heat was terrible. Which made for bad night of sleep.

The room was quiet & clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower kind of sucked--the water pressure was weak and it made a loud noise. Also the towel rack fell off the wall when I pulled a towel off of it. Not all of the amenities listed on the booking were actually there (ie, the booking said there would be a bidet, but there wasn't). There arent many other options in the area.

Hotel is in need of updating. Tv was falling off stand and leaned up against the wall. There was no hot water in the shower. The whole second floor smelled of marijuana.

Honestly, the people were super nice, place. Place was really dirty though and there was a hole in the wall in room 219 which is a little weird for me. I'm not used to holes in the wall, I'm guessing somebody fell out of bed, not sure how they got all the way to the wall but that's just what it looks like, it was fun to be there though, there was a cockroach in one of the rooms. We killed it. Hopefully management will take care of that. I'm deathly afraid of bugs. But that was pretty cool, I also thought that maybe we should have had a phone and like an iron in our room. But that's okay. We figured it out. My friend bought a steamer so I could steam my shirt so it didn't work out that I needed an iron, I'm also a little frustrated that the breakfast only had small waffles. I'm kind of a big waffle guy and there was only small waffles, I checked the milk to see if it was old but it wasn't. Overall I'd say we had a great stay. It was a little dirty in places and there was a Walmart cart that was tipped over outside of our room outside. But we looked past that to the outside world, I am super grateful for this place and the price. He's definitely right, these guys rock! Hope you all have a fantastic rest of your day. Frank

Given the price point of this motel I was pleasantly surprised! The room was very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. It was located conveniently next to the highway and was easy to access. The only place this hotel fell short was in regards to the morning breakfast. And there it failed miserably! The Dry Cereal was actually stale, as were the bagels. The fruit basket had one single Apple in it and nothing else. The choices were very limited. If you can skip the breakfast you'll have a better experience. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but just set realistic expectations. You can get a decent night's sleep just don't expect much in the way of a morning meal. And lastly, employees should not be permitted to stand right next to the entrance smoking. That was quite unpleasant to walk through as we left.

Overall it was good. However when I called the front desk I at 5 in the morning to let them know our toilet was stopped up, I was told to come get a plunger. When I went to the front desk I was taken into the laundry room and told to get a plunger. The plunger was on the floor behind some other things, with the rubber part the only part sticking out. I was told to reach down and get it. I asked to have the girl get it for me, but she said she couldn't. I replied that I couldn't get it either because my back was hurting and if I had to get it, I could very well hurt my back worse. She was not happy, but she finally found a plunger that had the rubber part wrapped in a plastic bag. She could have had a plunger waiting for me when I got to the front desk. I understand that they might not have maintenance at night, but they could have handled my need for a plunger much better.

This was a friendly place with a helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay.

The check-in was absolutely terrible. There were homeless people immediately outside the entrance of the hotel that one of the staff was trying to deal with. The male staff behind the main counter had an attitude and was not pleasant to deal with. Thankfully the female was much nicer. We actually wouldn’t have stayed here had there been vacancy anywhere else within 15 miles.

Service was horrible. Not enough toilet paper for 4 people in one room and 3 in the other. Kept having to ask for towels and wash rags. Saw roaches in the main area where the supposed breakfast was served. Continental breakfast never had coffee made. They shut down 30 minutes early and when we went to get breakfast yhey said they closed it down early. We were supposed to split pay for 2 rooms and the clerk charged my card for both rooms leaving me with insufficient funds in my account. This place sucks!

Worse managed hotel we have stayed in. Same manager for Super 8 & Quality Inn. Manger was missing most of the time and you had to call and wait for them to walk over from the other hotel. Booked room with a note requesting downstairs room, due to a medical disability. Room given was on the 2nd floor. Hotel had no elevator. No other hotels had availability, or we would have canceled, since we were staying multiple nights. 2nd night, our key cards did not open the door. I had to call and wait for someone to come and reprogram the cards. 3rd night they emptied the trash and took our dirty towels, but did not leave any clean towels or make the bed. I went downstairs and called the other hotel 3 times with no answer, and had to walk over to the other hotel to get towels (which were still damp). The manager's excuse was they were fully booked. The next day saw the laundry room had huge piles of dirty linens, the washer or dryer were unused and the manager was sitting there, I guess fully booked wasn't the real problem. The room was dirty, the refrigerator only kept the drinks just above room temperature and the freezer section didn't freeze. I again complained to the manager when checking out and they told me they were fully booked, and had to take care of people coming in. They pointed to their green policy saying they didn't have to provide clean towels or make the bed, and I told them then they should not have taken our towels and left us with none. Horrible experience.

This is a nice, clean, practical place to spend a night. Not luxurious, but comfortable, well located, and fairly priced. I will continue to use it on my frequent Rochester visits.

Breakfast is pre wrapped muffins and potentially waffles but no guarantees. I didn't see fruit or yogurt even. Eco friendly but no recycling. House keeping was watching TV really loud while cleaning the room a across the hall at 8am. I could hear it word for word in the shower.

My stay was good. I was disappointed in the selection for breakfast. I went down at 7:20 am, and there was barely any fruit, yogurt, or variety selection. There was no hot water for shower.

Had reserved room with king bed. At check-in there were none left! Why bother making a reservation. Was offered a handicap room with a double bed. We took it because we were tired. But a double bed really does not work for a plus-sized couple. Stayed 2 nights and breakfast was limited on what was left at 8:00.

Not a big choice in Rochester Indiana... only two motels and neither are good... We thought we picked the best but guess not... laundry piled high, had to wait on towels for our room.... stunk.... smelled bad in room...Just not good...but what is there /// nothing...
