Old Manse Hotel by Greene King Inns

Dirty small room. Arrived to a tiny car park, which was full and no where to park. Another guest came out and asked if we were staying at the hotel. We said yes, and the person said ‘I would stay somewhere else’ and walked off. We went into the pub and asked where we could park, one of the staff said ‘park on double yellow lines nearby, you’ll only get fined after 10am.’ Went up to see the room, last straw, it was small and dirty. We decided we couldn’t stay and left. Hotel staff wouldn’t refund any money when we requested compensation, although we never spent more than 5 minutes in the room. Looked like a nice area, pity about this hotel.

Listen - I gave this Inn FIVE stars... not because it's a "five star" hotel, but because it is EXACTLY what I was expecting... but even better. It's an old Inn in England, so it has creaky floors and low doorways and small bathrooms... BUT IT IS THE MOST DELIGHTUL and quaint property. The restaurant was delicious for both dinner and breakfast. It's in the heart of everything in Bourton-on-the-Water.

The hotel itself could benefit from some modern decoration. The room was ok but needed a little more care with paint chips on the walls. The shower was nice but there were one or two mold patches there which you don't expect for the price. The wifi was frankly inadequate and needs improving. The food in the restaurant was ok for it's type and was tasty. The breakfast was nice although it took a long time to arrive. It would be better if we could serve ourselves with coffee or if the wait staff topped us up without having to request it.

Loved our stay here! The view is amazing as it’s literally in front of the river Windrush. Lots of amazing restaurants. Loved the breakfast as well! The food is delicious. The room is clean and has the basic necessities.

Stayed here 1 night in January. Warm welcome from check-in staff. Location is obviously fantastic. We couldn’t park on site (only about 8 spaces) but were advised to park in the Royal British Legion for £3 a day and about a 5 to 10 minute walk. Nice room, stylish decor, comfortable bed (slept well), and fairly sizable though en-suite very small and verging on unpractical; radiator right next to the toilet so you can burn yourself while you go, and the shower cubicle door opens outwards and hits the sink, can see this being a safety issue in future. When next refurbishing, consider expanding the size of the en-suite a little. The main radiator in room 8 didn’t work. An electric radiator was provided as an alternative, but for over £85 a night I would expect all facilities to be in working order. We had our evening meal at the hotel. The food was good for quality and portions, but this was an expectation since it is pricier than other pubs in Bourton. Overall, a pleasant stay - thank you to all the staff that made it happen.

Location was excellent to access Burton-on-the -Water. Easy access to the main attractions, staff were friendly and helpful. Property could use some updating; carpets and upholstery were worn. Free car park, but first come first served and space is very limited.

Nice pub/hotel with excellent staff and parking, which is very handy in Bourton. The bathroom, and shower therein, was very small and was clearly added to the room some time ago.

Room was dirty, after reporting shower was not operating, nothing was done. The hotel needs the rooms painting, new carpets, and stop hiding behind its an old building. Breakfast should have been included in the price of the room not pay extra for breakfast, it was not cheap to stay there.

Great location. Clean and tidy room. Friendly staff. Lots of on street parking. Good value for money. Note to business travellers, breakfast is served from 8am until 10am so if you need a relatively early start (as I did) you might have to give breakfast a miss.

Bedroom was right above the kitchen and the extra fit fan kept up awake. Went off around 11pm but was back on before 7am. Floorboards around the hotel very noisy so got woken up when other guests were moving around their room or in the corridor.

Overpriced and extortionate. Extremely tired to the point of run down. In ground dirty carpeting. Bathroom radiator rusted due to urine splashed contamination.

The property was very well situated the rooms were understanding small, but the room was nit as clean as i could have been. The breakfast was very good but some if yhe evening meals totally unacceptable. The jacket potatoes were served still frozen in the middle. The staff were very good and we were not charged for this meal. That being said it was still not good.

Really nice little hotel in a very old building. Room was warm and comfortable but cobwebs all over the wooden beams on the ceiling look like they've been there for a long time. Hallway smelled damp & frosty. Breakfast next morning was good and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone staying in the local area, the village is beautiful and well worth a visit.

The hotel is a dump. Filthy carpet, dank, cramped bathroom. Bed was fine, sheets seemed clean. What I would expect from a cheap hotel in a developing country Spend a bit more for something better.

Charming little hotel in a beautiful setting, with welcoming and hard working staff. Our attic room (two twin beds) was cute and surprisingly roomy. Only downside: the shower was squeezed into such a confined space that it was impossible to move without the shower curtain clinging to you, hitting your forehead on the shower head, and/or spraying all over the floor.

The shower was luke warm and although I reported it, it did not improve. Breakfast was of a poor standard. The location was great and area lovely but let down by the hotel

Fabulous welcome from staff on arrival and great service throughout our stay! Obviously a bit dated in parts but that’s in character with it’s listed status . Great location for the town with shops and restaurants all around.

Welcome was very good, the breakfast was served by a delightful team. The food was cooked well, its was hot and served on hot plates! Bed comfortable, bathroom needed a little TLC but everything worked.

We had an incredible 3 night stay. Our room, the service, the food, everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be returning in the future

The hotel is in the perfect area to explore Bourton. Staff was very good and the dinners we had in the hotel were very enjoyable
