S’more’s and unlimited games at night, brilliant! No fuss continental breakfast was new and free pinball was a blast. Our first room was unfortunately smoked in, they moved us no problem. We walked to the Saturday Market, dinner at the Duck House and brunch at Mother’s Bistro both were excellent. Another fun getaway to Portland

There is no pool on site. 24hr fitness shares the facilities however they don’t give access to kids 13 and younger. We got this hotel because of the indoor pool and my child was not able to use

I booked this hotel specifically for their advertised electric vehicle charging stations included for guests. I made a 5 hour long drive for the stay, arriving to find out that the chargers were not available due to giving parking space to large tour busses instead. They offered chargers in the basement garage ($40/night) only to find out the charger was broken. I had only 1 day in Portland and I ended up spending hours of it waiting for my car to charge (and paying for the charge as well instead of the cost I had planned to include in my overall hotel stay).

I travel quite a bit and this was the worse hotel I’ve stayed at in years. The room was dirty, especially the carpets. The bathroom shower was clogged. Even basic things like sufficient towels weren’t in place. Also, the front desk staff were rude and cold. I noticed they didn’t greet returning patrons or make eye contact with them (myself included). Just a bad stay overall.

On the first day, I found a dead moth by the curtains in my room. I stayed for a week, but it was never removed. In addition, the cleaning was forgotten once during my stay. Since the promised service was not fully provided, I feel that a discount would be appropriate. The time window for s’mores service was very short, so I was not able to enjoy it. Also, please note that there is no microwave in the room.

It is a chic hotel in a great location, looks new and with a modern ambiance. However, some of the details are disappointing. For example, the bathroom has rusty spots, and our bathtub has hair left when we checked in. The A/C is loud.

Great downtown location but that was it. Charged extra $40 to park. Charged $30 for continental breakfast that was the worst I’ve had in over 40 years of business and personal travel. Hard bagels, cold cereal and hard boiled eggs and the coffee was full of grounds. The room was ok but the bathroom had mold all around the tub and the sink wouldn’t drain. See photos.

I stayed here with a friend in the beginning of May for an event in downtown Portland. We were here for a couple days, and it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. The room (the bathroom more specifically) had a few issues in the wallpaper and things like that, but that would never steer me from a place. The staff were very nice and helpful. Not any complaints there. I liked that breakfast was included, but I’m not sure it was worth it. On our checkout day we ended up going out for breakfast, which I love to do anyways in Portland, they have great spots. It was just disappointing, lackluster. The rooms don’t have any HVAC so we were either freezing or hot whenever we were in the room, and I never figured out the window. My main issue out of the whole stay was when my friend got to the hotel, she used their parking and I did not. We got the pass and everything, but they never disclosed that parking would be an extra $40 a night for that (found out after leaving on my receipt). That seems like something you would want to be up front about, as well as your amenity fees. An amenity fee should be built into the cost of the room if you anticipate people using them, and if they don’t, then they shouldn’t be charged. This was my first time staying here, not sure if I would come back honestly, unless I was in a pinch. I do wish this place the best, and the people who work here, because they were all very lovely and kind and I would never fault the staff for things they cannot control.

Really nice hotel with excellent room in a convenient location. The room and hallway were very warm, 78 degrees, and when I turned on the air conditioning it shot up to 80. We turned it off and slept with the window open which cooled us off but was noisy. We were told individual hvac units are being installed which would make it a delightful hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel previously, I do business in the area and the location was convenient for it. I liked that they a deal with a local gym a block away for guests to use it . The rooms were are clean and modern. The restaurant is ok. It was good deal for its price. This time when I there the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, a microwave caught fire, not serious, but a lot of smoke and guests had to evacuate their rooms. The staff basically had no idea what to do, at one point they all seemed to hide in room behind the front desk. There was no communication or direction from them at all, finally one young man on staff, who didn’t seem to be charge, but saw the need to give the guests some information and started to. The hotel manager and owner need to train the staff, ridiculous the way the staff acted during a life safety event.

Gold star service at every turn. We checked in late, stopped by the desk after our event and again at check out. Every staff member was courtesy personified. The DIY s'mores are the best way to end the evening. The location of the hotel is fantastic for PSU and the Keller Auditorium events. The style was spot on and that courtyard...perfect for a catch up with friends or wind down before bed. Definitely staying here again. The only downside is, when booking through hotels.com, there is a mysterious "destination fee" and at the hotel and additional "amenities fee". No bueno.

We’ve stayed here twice for shows at the Keller and the facility and staff are so focused on making the time feel a bit extra special all the time. My wife and I felt like Lyle and Damian genuinely wanted our trip to be as good as possible and that is hard to do when you work in hospitality! Lu’kas went above and beyond unloading luggage! We recommend the Zags to everyone.

Check-in: very inconvenient. Three transactions from my bank account with total staying fees. I had to call the bank to cancel extra payments, and I was about to cancel my debit card! The reception staff was very stressed, but her colleague did not help. She ended up breaking down. I was asked for $200 in incidentals and 30 dollars daily for breakfast and internet. etc! When I booked, it said that amenities would be free (included). When I asked, they told me that Expedia changed the language to attract people to book through them! I had to call Expedia to help out. Staff: Other than the strange check-in experience, the staff were cool and helpful. Cleanliness: The room was not clean when I arrived. Spots on the carpet and a big spill on the curtain. Very dusty and hair is everywhere. But when I asked for the room to be cleaned, it was perfectly cleaned. Amenities and breakfast: There is a gym that is very close to the hotel which is included in the amenities. Breakfast is simple: bagels, muffins, boiled eggs, cereals, and fruits. I did not try the parking. Property: nice rooms and very walkable to almost everything around. Very close to public transportation and restaurants around. In summary, excellent location, and a nice property, but transparency and customer service need to be improved.

Front desk never around. Act inconvenienced. The phones didn't work so could not call down to the front desk. The room was clean and fine for the price, but the walls are thin and you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the next room.

We spent two nights on a busy summer weekend in downtown Portland and we were very impressed not only the hotel but everywhere we walked how safe we felt despite the years reading about downtown Portland. Highly recommend the hotel it is fun and staying downtown. So much to do and we walked a lot of miles around the areas on both sides of the river and into the hills of the city and down to and back from the railroad station

I once lived in Portland and now return on a regular basis to visit family. The Hotel Zags is a good fit for us and conveniently located. Yo can walk to Powell's in 20 minutes or less and there are plenty of interesting shops along the way.

A very nice downtown hotel, with more reasonable parking. Food is not great, especially the morning buffet. That’s very rough, with 1 bedraggled attendant for everyone. Didnt even bother with the diner style evening food, since there are tons of great restaurants in easy walking distance.

We stayed for 2 nights. The location seems safe and the hotel has onsite parking for a fee. The room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a urine odor and the toilet seat was too small for the toilet. There rust stains on the wall - the bathroom was not great. We enjoyed the s’mores - breakfast was nothing more than bagels, boiled eggs, and hotel-grade coffee. We’ve had better breakfasts at cheaper hotels.

Great stay. Make sure to ask about parking within the facility; it is an additional cost. “Free breakfast” is charged as part of the amenities fee, and it’s so so (coffee, small muffins, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs) However, the property location and price compensates. The restaurant was supposed to be open until 10 pm and it closed early so we had to go somewhere off site. The continental breakfast was nothing more than bagels and cream cheese. Options would be nice. They should go back to offering the credit in the restaurant, assuming it is open.

The property was very nice and the staff were great! The only weakness was the fact that the restaurant hours were very minimal. They did not open until 4 pm, which pushed us to go to find other restaurants. We liked the outdoor sitting area's, but with the limited hours on the restaurant and bar, it was disappointing.

The hotel Zags is perfect hotel to get the Portland vibe. Locals come here. Its locaties in city center However dont come for intercontinental breakfast. It’s pretty basic. Also my room wast cleaned i when requested it or partially done.

There was no info about the surrounding businesses, restaurants or attractions. Their website is awful and misleading. It adds $30 to the total when it says the price was with no additional fees. If it was not so close to the Keller I would have not stayed there.
