Baymont by Wyndham Columbia Fort Jackson

Air conditioner didn’t work. Tiles off bathroom wall. Parts of ceiling coming down in hallway. Why are handicap rooms at the opposite end from the elevator?

This property has maintenance issues. The elevator didn’t work. A lot of the electrical outlets in the room didn’t work. People slammed their doors all night long. This place is a dumpster fire.

The pool was not available

The pool had no water. The bathrooms were rusty and I’ll maintained. The breakfast was not starting until 630AM. There was no shuttle. And the was not a desk person available at all times at the front. And the bathroom sink didn’t shut off.

The room was clean and staff was friendly, however, I booked with that hotel because I needed a gym. Both treadmills in their gym were not working and after I notified management they still didn’t put an “Out of Order” sign on the treadmills.

I will start with the good points. The bedding was clean and the air conditioning was great. As for the condition of the room, I will not say the same. The pool was empty, it looked like it needed lot of work. As for our room there was a large part of the ceiling ( like a foot in size )that was cracked and beginning to come down from what looked like water damage. The dresser/tv stand was cracked, dusty and had no drawers or refrigerator. The headboards were mix matched and there was no telephone. The bathroom was nice and clean however, there was no shower mat to prevent a possible fall and the toilet paper holders were so rusted we removed the toilet paper rolls to use. In the walkway there was a foot size hole in the carpet that had been covered with some sort of silver spray.

the room was half cleaned. Both ice machines were not working. No internet smelled like pot in hallway no one at front desk hardly. had to ask for a second towel due to them only putting one in room when another guest called about kids running the halls at around midnight they hung up on guest.Beds had no comforters we will not stay at this one again

The room was clean (house keeping seems good as well as friendly) except the room stunk bad like cigarette smoke and mold. I left with stuffed up sinus's. The persons at the front desk was usually stuffy. Saw a huge cockroach in the lobby. No coffee in the room and no USB connections. Wasn’t able to close the drapes all the way and there was a light outside my window. The work out room had broken equipment and treadmills don’t seem to work but maybe I needed a key at the front desk but didn’t try. Got locked out of my room because key quick although they reset it pretty quickly.

Room was in dismay. Showed up before 3, turned away. Returned an hour later. Room has stains, door falling apart, no fridge. Front desk did have a fridge delivered. Ceiling has water damage. Bugs in shower. Had a pool, no water in it presently. Breakfast was subpar. Not a 3 star hotel. Potentially could be- but it is NOT NOW.

No one was at the desk during checking in time. Had to come back to check in. Half the equipment in the gym didn't work. Breakfast was completely empty and was not refilled.

My wife made me promise to never book a Wyndham/Baymont Hotel ever again in our lives. Musty smell upon opening the door, no internet service. We called the front desk to see why we couldn't get on the internet and their suggestion was to bring down our laptops to the front desk. My wife and I figured that if 3 other people in the hotel are on the internet, you are not getting on. There was some puke or something on the chair I had to use to get closer to the 20 inch tv. (I wanted to watch the NBA playoff game but couldn't see from sitting on the bed). No desk lamp so the room was very dark. No mirror. Toilet seat had one bolt holding it in. (doesn't someone from the cleaning staff notify maintenance when they see this?) No pens, no paper, no channel directory and the hall ceiling was falling down on the carpeting outside. Do yourself a favor and buy no doze, red bull, speed or anything you can get to keep yourself awake and keep driving. Never a Wyndham customer again.

Terrible place to stay. It was dirty, had bugs, smelled like weed and the service was so bad

The room was very old and run down. Not clean at all. Almost all the towels had stains and were not clean. Only stayed one night out of two. I was told I wouldn’t be charged for the second night, but still was.

The mattress was extremely comfortable, and the linens/towels were clean and luxurious. The front desk staff was willing to help with any problems and questions. However, the drapes were tattered, there was pink stuff on the mirror, the tub was slippery, there was caked dirt in the corners of the bathroom floor, a toothpaste cap was stuck down the unstoppered sink drain, and the directions for the wifi didn't work.

I didn’t like anything about this hotel. They had bed bugs and my 1yr old grandbaby was bitten as well as my niece and son. I asked for a refund for all my nites and was only offered a refund for 2 of my nites. I felt with all the pictures I had and told them I should have gotten a refund for all 3 of my nites and not just 2. This place needs to be shut down and renovated as well as exterminated. Very nasty place

the she on bed wss solied couch arm very dirty and back.couldnt sit on it.i found an insect on bed crawling thought it was a tick.but second night i found a next one crawling on my night gown only to realize it was bed bug.i was so frightened and confused .i. report to front desk they wasnt amazed at all .as it they were waiting for that report..i got a full refund .i check out sametime and find a nxt hotel.also the hall way smells like urine

Very nasty dirty , the male receptionist was so disgusting and rude to customers yelling and screaming . Terrible experience roaches was smashed on the wall , stuff spilled in bathroom sink that ain’t get cleaned and the sheets lord was so stained up and he did not want to do anything about it until I had to get right with him !

I’m sorry to say that this hotel needs a complete cleanup. Our room smelled of chemicals plus tobacco. The carpet was sticky, and the bathtub was nasty. I cannot recommend this place.

Absolutely disgusting. We were going to stay here for the weekend on our way up north but we didn’t even make in 4 hours. The floor was wet halfway across the room. It just felt distrusting to be in. And then what topped it all off was the bed bugs. The kids were crying by the time we left, worst experience at a hotel ever!

There were Cockroaches all the room. Sheets were dirty.

The young man Carthicke at the desk was very helpful and very professional. He changed our room cause the first room was right beside the door leading outside and being there less than 10 mins all we heard was the door slamming and shaking the wall. unfortunately we went from noise to uncomfortable bed. The box spring was of the frame so i put it back on the frame cause we laid on the bed and rolled to the middle. but there was still a dip in the middle of the mattress. Only had one pillow on the bad, no washclothes, the light as you entered the room did not work and there was a big dip in the carpet where some of the floor had been removed. Elevator acted like it barely wanted to work, had a few moments where i did not know if it was going to work work properly.. This place needs to be renovated very badly. Only bright spot was Carthicke the young man at the desk. I understand get what you pay for, but i have stayed in places cheaper than this that was not as bad.

The young man at the service desk was extremely helpful. However the first from they gave us the tub was leaking and then the handle fell off the tub. The second room they gave us the entire rug was soaking wet and it smelled of mildew. Third room they gave us the bathroom had a cracked mirror. The furniture and decor is very outdated. Although we had all these issues like I said the young man at the desk went above and beyond to try to get us a nice room as they could.

Room was really dated, older furniture. It seemed like they took two rooms and made one large room. Exposed light sockets, some kind of green sludge on the mirror in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable.

The first room they put me in did not have functioning air. the second room had no refridgerator, microwave or internet. Told the front desk, and they didn't even apologize.

The stay was well , my main focus was that the television was not mounted on the wall but just leaning on the dresser. The room could use some minor work .

I believe the room could have been in better condition, the air conditioner did not work properly, we didn’t have enough towels available. The curtains were ripped, there was no phone available to be able to connect with the service desk and the usb ports did not function. I believe the experience should have been better.

The first room we were given had water damage and mold all over the place and smelled horrible. After informing the front desk they said "so you don't want to stay in the room"? The next room had a used wash cloth hanging on the shower head so it wasn't as bad as the first.

The room has not been updated in about 20 years. The showerhead was coming off the wall. The bed were stiff and uncomfortable. The wifi had absolutely no speed to it. If they did some updates, the hotel would be great

The hotel was clean, but nothing to write home about. No amenities in the room such as a coffee maker, refrigerator, or microwave.

The first room they gave me smelled like feet, tv was leaning on the dresser instead of the wall, A/C didn’t work. 2nd room had a slight odor.

We had an ok stay. The staff was great, they were attentive and helpful (got us a remote and extra towels). The hotel itself is outdated and needs several repairs. Being as most guests were there for Ft Jackson Army bootcamp graduation, they need to start their breakfast earlier as we had to leave at 6am both mornings.

My daughter was in the hospital so I booked and arrived there from Tennessee at 2:30 in the morning. I was very exhausted so I didn’t address the long black hairs I found on the bathroom floor or the baggie of cereal back behind the TV stand. The room was not clean that well. A lot was overlooked/missed. They also didn’t have a coffee maker, but yet had the packets, pods and all the fixings for it. No biggie, the lobby had good coffee. The breakfast, however was so-so. They didn’t replenish anything. It was still free so it was appreciated. I appreciated What money I could save being a this was an emergency trip. I left the room clean. There were no damages. The day after check-out they charged me that $50. I called to find out why and I was told it takes up to 7 business days to get it back. I had to file a dispute with the bank. Still no answer as to why they thought it was ok to keep my deposit. The woman I talked to didn’t even bother to check for a note in the system just kept telling me I’d get it back. Never did. That’s not ok to steal from people.

Personal at facility were excellent. Shout out to Verne, and Valorie excellent handling questions and issues that arose

It was not nice at all I have an video that I was going to post as well.We got their at 3:45 and no one check us in until almost 5:00. Customers Service was horrible.

The front desk clerk was so rude and talked to us crazy with the nasty attitude..I had to get my mom to call hotel.com because his attitude was so bad and we had trouble checking in ..it was a full mess..I should have been given my money back

After driving 7 hours with my friend we arrived at our hotel at 11:45 pm only to be told that they had no rooms available, even though we had a reservation made. The man was high as a kite and could barely even a hold a conversation with us. He was absolutely no help in guiding us on what we should do in a state 7 hours from home where we have no idea about anything around. I have never been to a hotel before that doesn’t honor a reservation that has been made MONTHS in advance. Then to not even be helpful was the icing on the cake. Definitely do not recommend this chain of hotels especially in the Columbia South Carolina area.

It is close to the center

The property was quiet, but not a enough selection for breakfast and the other thing I like that the property was close to the freeway and a few minutes away from Fort Jackson

I came for my son's BCT graduation at Fort Jackson. The hotel was in close proximity and easy to get to. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. I didn't do breakfast because they don't serve until 6:30am and I had to leave before that both days. Over all, it was a nice hotel and I would stay there again.

Convenient location

The hotel is off a dark back road, so it was a lityle difficult to find. Check in went fine. I got to my room and looked out the window. I could see my car, so that was nice. While closing the shades i saw that the glass was broken in one of the windows. I had the night manager come up and look at it. It wasnt busted through, but the inside glass was mostly gone. The TV and appliances worked fine. In the bathroom there was 1 big towel,1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth. Im glad i didnt have a guest with me. Went to make coffee abd there was no flat tray in the machine to out the coffee back in. So i waited till breakfast. Shower was fine. Hair dryer had a crack in the cord, but did work. Breakfast was mostly carbs, but did have some turkey bacon and waffkes to make. The handle on the waffle mix was not connected properly and fell off. I was able to get the connection seated properly, but some mix came out on the tray and splattered on my shirt. The night before i went out to my car to get my meds abd there were 4 flashing police cars in the parking lot about 15 feet from my car. They were talking to someone. I got my stuff and left immediately. A guy in the lobby was sitting on the couch screaming into his phone as loud as he could. I found out he was the night manager, and asked about the police cars, and he didn't even know they were outside. The other problem in the room was that my bed vibrating. Price seemed high for what I experienced.

Breakfast was basically a continental breakfast. All carbs, no protein, unless you count peanut butter. Smoke detector in room was gone. Everything else was very dated. Refrigerator in the room was unplugged and defrosted with a pool of water in the freezer, when I arrived. Very old Lcd Tv (32") in the room. Probably from early 2000's.

The ONLY thing this hotel had going for it was the location. The rooms need an upgrade, their cable went out and the TV had to be reset (two days?!?!), the breakfast options were meager and never refilled -- even at 6:30 a.m. -- some of the options were already gone (breakfast started at 6 a.m.). A $50 deposit at time of check-in?!?! No where in the hotel site is that mentioned!

Overnight stay. Convenient location for my trip. Rooms smell like smoke for what I believed to be a no smoking policy space. Initial room had cracked tv screen. 2nd room the tv didn’t work at all. 3rd room was a charm. The waffle maker didn’t work so there was no batter. There were a couple bagels/danishes & yogurt. The hotel wasn’t busy so I understood why there wasn’t much on display. No lids for the coffee cups so I couldn’t grab a coffee to go. Staff was pleasant and seemed aware of the issues I mentioned. Changes room with no issues and breakfast was out of their hands. I would stay again if push came to shove. I slept good!

Breakfast was cold over cooked and no milk. My room ceiling had what appeared to be a huge dark spot that looked moldy. The heater or window unit didn't work at all

The breakfast was terrible. The eggs were like rubber and the sausage was cold. Nobody was in there eating

Headboard was missing a panel with adhesive exposed. The elevator looked greasey. Breakfast despite saying eggs and waffles -- most disappointingly was cereal with no bowls provided. Sort of the reason we went with this one.

The WiFi didn’t work and they have no lids for their coffee cups at breakfast. May seem like a little thing but when you have to leave early and want to bring a cup with you, it is very annoying.
