Motel 6-Oceanside, CA

Attendant walked into the front desk area a few minutes after I did. We had reserved two rooms, when we walked into one room it had not been cleaned, honestly felt like we walked into someone’s room so we hurried out and went back to the front desk and requested/received a new room then left for dinner. When we got back to both rooms, I noticed the shower in the room we hadn’t checked initially was not clean. Won’t mention details but you can imagine. The bldg was aged and could/should have been renovated, okay fine. The rooms were not cleaned and shouldn’t have been assigned. It was one night stay, not vacation and thought “been to Motel6 before why not? Never any issues,,,”. Heads up, make sure to inspect rooms when you first walk into them. Pretty certain I won’t be staying in any Motel 6 again.

I knew what to expect from a hotel / room perspective but there was a guy yelling at 6AM and it went on for a couple of hours. Luckily, I had ear plugs but when I called down and asked if they would ask him to be quiet they said “he is a regular and he does that.” Mmmm, OK. Overall, good value for the money. Maybe I just got the wrong room location.

they have quit.the place is so far run down it needs shutdown and rebuild.shower floor torn, could feel rotting wood under linoleum with foot, could see outside door when closed, cut wood in place to hold window shut, 2 queens in a king room, could not enter bed from far left or right as there was only 2 inches before wall, wifi wouldn't work, staff was rude and slow, there is no restroom when you arrive, no counter either, lots of milling about by other guests, shady like illegal activity, room is dirty, past what a quick sweep and mop can correct, tv remote had paint stains but not color of room, battery holder missing taped over to hold them in. fixtures in bathroom broke- repaired - rusted and not in alignment. i have pictures this place needs to lose 3-4 stars, its not habitable
