Pro: The staff was the light of this place. Every staff member I talk with was kind, friendly, and helpful. I loved having a room with a sliding glass door to open for fresh air. That was really nice. It was a quiet area for lodging. Cons: I was disappointed to discover there was no free shuttle service as advertised. This resulted in added expense (Uber/Lyft), I was not expecting. They no longer accept cash, and I was not hip on adding additional charges to my credit card. The 'restaurant' is really a coffee bistro with very few hours of availability. As incredible as the staff was, I'd be concerned if I were the management of this property because your staff will only stay so long before they burnout from dealing with disappointed customers. And start by not falsely advertising a free shuttle service and a 'restaurant'.

They were in process of remodeling. Big stains on carpets in the room. Pool and courtyard were dirty and unusable. It was a big disappointment for the price. Very unkept. Lobby was clean. Staff was friendly and apologetic. Elevators were boarded with cardboard. The location was close to downtown and the airport. But it has definitely seen better days.

This property is in extreme disrepair. The pictures are misleading. The pool area is closed permanently and therefore no outdoor seating. The "restaurant" consists of a small area that only serves limited breakfast for a fee. The pantry/marketplace only had 3 bottles of mountain dew soda in stock. There was no water to purchase. The furnishings were stained and dirty. The slider in the room was not functioning. There were cigarette butts on the patio balcony as well as dirty paper towels.

The hotel is going through renovations. The bottom floor was a mess which is understandable. The pool was super green and there is pool equipment and chairs and random things from the hotel piled up around the pool. So, we didnt get to use the pool as we had hoped. It was one of the reasons I picked this hotel. Our room was decent but the outdoor balcony was a mess, there were nails and screws and painting tape and trash everywhere. I understand about the renovations but our room should have been much better. There were chairs and bottles and even a grill in the parking lot as if someone had been hanging out beside the hotel. The exterior was a complete mess and didnt feel safe. We had to enter through the side door which was just propped open, leaving it open for anyone to enter the building. I wish I had picked another hotel. I never write negative reviews but this one deserved it.

This property is being renovated. This was not communicated by expedia site. I chose this hotel fir a one night stay befor a famile cruise primarily because of the airport shuttle. Come to find out, no shuttle due to renovations. Additionally, pool was closed, gym was closed, only dryer available to guests was broken, mold in bathrooms and torn curtains in guest rooms. A complete fail.

This hotel is a safety and health hazard. Doing a complete renovation spray painting the entire building. Parking lot is full of containers, building materials, pallets, piles of old furniture and carpet. No where to park. Front entrance closed tearing off the roof throwing things off the roof, no light to the side entrance walkway, no light or sign on side entrance. Door propped open with a brick, fire alarms covered in plastic and taped off, emergency exit with flood lights removed, I reported our patio door lock was broken 3 times never fixed, all windows and doors taped up with plastic. Could not see outside. No manager or assistant manger on duty Saturday or Sunday housekeeping checking people in and out. Ran out of breakfast before 8 am and breakfast starts at 7am!!!!! No complementary water or coffee available for guest in lobby. We parked in the Red Cross parking lot. We asked permission from the Red Cross to park there after 4pm on Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday was available to us. Rooms were not cleaned because they had no one to clean. WHY IS THIS HORRIBLE HOTEL OPEN this should be closed during a complete renovation like this instead of putting guest safety and health at risk. Rude employees because they were tired of hearing complaints. No one knows what is going on and why a manager or assistant manager is not on duty. This hotel should have told us this was going on when we called on Wednesday to verify reservations for check in on Friday.

We weren't told the property was under major renovations. It needs the upgrade for sure as its very old and outdated. The pool was under construction and not available. Our room was dirty, peeling wallpaper, hole in sofa, old and dirty bathroom. Dust on all surfaces. Broken mini fridge, ciffee maker with no mugs or coffee. The staff however was great. Kind and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. Would not recommend checking them out until they finish upgrading.

The staff checking in us was so so lovely. One of the gals was obviously training or new, and the other was well versed in the check in process and kindly helped the other one get us all squared away. They gave tips on where to go in the area for drinks & food. We were only there for one night before meeting up with our group in downtown Charleston. Otherwise, it wasn't much better than a roadside motel. The carpet was absolutely yuck. Stains EVERYWHERE in the room. I didn't take my shoes of until I was in the bed. The shower had moldy corners. The water pressure was bad. There was hair on the bathroom floor upon our arrival. The bed was loud and squeaky every time my husband or I moved, waking me up anytime one of us shifted in the night (I'm not a light sleeper). The air-condition unit blew air that smelled like wet dog. The bistro was supposed to open at 6:30a but it wasn't so we couldn't get breakfast or decent coffee before we left at 8:30am. This is hands down the worst Marriot property I have ever stayed at. We were only there for 10 hours so not much point in having the hotel fix all of this upon our arrival but I will definitely be skipping this spot if we find ourselves back in the area.

The room was dirty. There were stains on the carpet and the chair. The parking lot was pretty empty. However, there were people hanging out and smoking pot and cigars and cigarettes in their cars which made it very awkward and uncomfortable. It did not seem like the best of areas And my daughter, and I felt unsafe. The elevator smelled of pot, but the hotel was trying to mask the bad smells with a very loud air freshener at the elevator doors. My hotel room and towels smelled like stale smoke. We moved to another part of town and a new hotel.

I got stranded overnight from a flight cancellation and this was the only hotel nearby less than $300. It was disgusting. The room smelled like chemicals and black mold and cleaning chemicals. Stains everywhere: carpet, walls, bed. My window was alway covered by plastic tarp. They should’ve paid me to stay here. It’s clearly under renovations and should be closed indefinitely.

Be advised! This hotel is under re-modeling. We were placed in a room that was in terrible condition. Aside from the strong cigarette smell, the toilet would not stop running, there were stains all over the carpet and pubic hair on the shower wall. We were not pleased at all with the condition of the room for what we paid. They were sold out due to an event in town and we had no other choice not to deal with it.

This property is so poorly maintained I can't believe Marriott would put its name on it. Driving up to the property the sign in front was leaning up against the light box, the elevator was missing a huge section of carpet tile and you could see the subfloor, in the corridor wall paper was peeling off the wall. Upon entering my room the carpet was filthy, furniture was so beat up the finish was worn off down to the pressed board, the handle was missing from the sliding door, the coffee table was so wonky I was afraid to set anything on it, the sofa was filthy, and after getting into the shower I discovered bath wash dispenser was completely empty.

Upon arrival, we noticed that there was construction going on for remodeling. I understand remodeling and construction and that really wasn’t the issue. The issue was we were in a room that apparently the air conditioning was either broke or messed up that no one could fix and they came to our room twice. They had no answer as to why they couldn’t get the air to work besides coming across as if it was a chore or a bother for them to even come look in the first place. I had a child and three other adults in the room with us and the room was hot from arrival to checkout. They did find us one box fan that looked like it had been in a fight and it did not win, the screen to the fan to protect you from getting hurt or cut was half off of the fan. What a safety hazard that was. The ice machine also did not work. One of the elevators made a god-awful noise. And now going through my bank statement I’ve noticed that even though I paid in advance and had a zero balance on my receipt for our stay on March 14th and leaving March 15th there is a $20 charge on my account on April 3rd. There was also limited parking in the parking lot due to containers being in parking spots on the property. I do not recommend this property because if there is a problem, you will just get an I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do. The staff in my opinion, some acted like they didn’t even want to be there.

This hotel is very old and rundown. They are in the process of renovating, but the construction is extremely loud and we should have been notified about it prior to check in. If we had been notified, we wouldn’t have stayed here, and that would’ve been a much better choice. Furniture in the rooms was very subpar, with extra holes in dressers for what I assumed were the former TVs.

In the midst of renovations. Water temp fluctuations in the middle of the shower. Great fluctuations in the thermostat temp all day. Limited T.V. stations. Very weak and NO wi fi. Previously a great place to stay.One of my favorites. Hopefully with the completion of renovation they will return to their once very good status.

I stay there a lot because of the location and they have balconies. They're in the process of doing renovations. Many of the rooms have had brand new TVs in them now for a couple of months at least. I'm there every 3 weeks and these brand new, nice big TVs still do not get the local channels! The channels they do get don't come in very clearly either. I don't know who they use for their cable service, but it stinks apparently. I have complained about this maybe 3-4 times over 3 yrs. Nothing has been done. I'll bet Days Inn gets local channels!

Unfriendly person checked me in. Tried to check into 3 different rooms but tv didn’t work in any of those rooms. Had to return to front desk each time. She never apologized or showed any empathy. Finally they sent a friendly maintenance guy and he showed me how to turn on tv manually. Apparently, the remotes are not synched with the tv’s so you have to manually turn on tv, then you can use remote. Fire alarm went off at 7am, and again an hour or two later. No hot water in shower. My last two stays at Marriott’s have been awful. The chain has really gone downhill. And I’ve been a loyal Marriott member for over 20 years.

Our individual rooms were more dated than I anticipated. The mattress wasn't comfortable, and the loveseat wasn't either. The wallpaper was also peeling off the wall. Bryan explained that the hotel was about to undergo a complete renovation. It appears that the lobby has already been updated because the area was spacious and attractive. This location was very good for what we wanted to do. We felt safe in the area. The two biggest cons are that the pool was in no way ready for the holiday crowd, (fortunately, my granddaughter was not traveling with us.) and there was no breakfast to speak of. We were told breakfast was available for purchase. No problem, except there were only a few stale muffins and coffee. There is a great area for dining in the lobby. Surely, something can be worked out to provide a more satisfactory experience. Thanks to Bryan for his assistance and follow-through.

When we arrived, we were told the pool was not operational! There was no breakfast available when we woke the next morning! Apparently their breakfast they advertise is not included and is Starbucks you pay for that is very limited on what they carry! Beds are okay! Rooms are clean enough! Overall will not stay here again especially with kids!

We were supposed to get breakfast with our package. The hotel cancellef breakfast. Breskfast people never showed up. Elevator was in disarray. Room tv did not work. Room had stains all over the rug. The photos of the hotel are completely inaccurate. The hotel was in poor shape and construction was going on. None of this was disclosed properly on the website. The hotel restaurant was only open limited for breakfast. The bar was closed. The area is not near any other amenities so we had to drive to eat.

The TV in the room did not work for the two days we were there… Only decaffeinated coffee was available in our room… The advertising about free breakfast was not honored—instead we had to pay about $20 for a breakfast sandwich (that was microwaved) and coffee. So that was $40 per day for my wife and I… So overall we were not happy with our stay, and no compensation was offered to us… Therefore we will think twice before making a reservation at a Marriott Hotel next time.

Staff was great! Rooms are ok- the shower wasn’t 100% cleaned from the previous guest, as there were still hair in the shower. If you do not have a car, you are out of luck for food and beverage at this hotel. There no options. No breakfast, only one small pot of coffee in the lobby, and Starbucks was not even open at 7:15 or 8:15 AM. Would not recommend to anyone who does not have a car because they have to go offsite for food and beverage.
