Hotel Penzance Promenade

We had a great stay at the hotel and really appreciated the secure garage. The staff were very helpful, the breakfasts were great and we would definitely stay again on a future visit to lovely Cornwall. The only thing that could be improved is the piano in your office definitely needs tuning!

The hotel staff were amazing and very friendly and professional. The breakfast was really good with hit food cokes and was very high end. The only negative was the room was awful layout with view of back yard and noise. The room layout was very cramped and multi level.

Very good breakfast with a nice view

I was disappointed with my stay, particularly given the price of nearly £700 for four nights. Before I even arrived, the hotel accidentally took payment from my account twice. Although this was eventually corrected after I called, the person I spoke to said "it's a good thing you rang or we wouldn't have known!". It also wasn't even mentioned upon check in. Upon checkin, the guy on shift also kept making jokes about how I needed to tip him for ice in a glass, for showing me to my room, for telling me what time breakfast was... It started off a bit funny, but after the 15th time it got a bit weird. Especially after telling me he wanted my ID/address "for personal reasons". I had booked what was advertised on this site as a standard double room. However, when I arrived, the room was a “compact” or “cosy” double. The room was extremely small, with very little space, only one plug socket beside the bed, and a view overlooking neighbouring houses and pipework. No way are two people sharing that room. The room also had no air conditioning, making it uncomfortably hot, even with a fan. There was no lift so if you have a heavy suitcase, prepare to carry it up two flights of stairs. Unless you want to tip yer man £15 (or so he joked...) Coming back on the first night, there was a bunch of drunk lads in the foyer with tops off. Had the room not cost me close to £700 for four nights, I'd let these all slide. But it is not good value for money sadly.

Great place to stay. Very friendly, helpful staff. No lifts, staff helped with luggage to rooms and garage. Beds very comfortable. Great view from our room. Breakfast and evening meals with plentiful choice. Conveniently situated for Penzance centre and Newlyn.
