Nice place, but a bit scruffy and poor quality In areas. Hot water screeching all night kept us all up, kids slide split and dangerous. Pool bridges falling apart. It was good value, but I can now see why it’s cheaper than top resorts.

The apartment itself was very nice and comfortable with nice terrace and full kitchen. The real let down was the resort facilities. The pool and steam/sauna area was not clean and overcrowded with 30 unsupervised children running and jumping into the indoor pool and entering steam/sauna rooms. The floors in the indoor pool area were moldy and slippery. The resort even charges guests for clean beach/pool towels if you want them changed. No business center. Definitely not a five star resort. Would not return due to the facilities.

Das Personal war super nett, insbesondere zu unserer Tochter; insgesamt ein sehr schönes, sauberes Ressort! Ideal für Reisen mit Kinder. Auch der Pool und Spa ist toll. Nicht gefallen haben uns Kleinigkeiten, das Essen im Restaurant ist recht teuer; der Pool war etwas kühl und in unserem Apartment war die Küche nicht so gut ausgestattet.

Great staff and the main pool was the main attraction. We were a group of 20 people staying in a mix of 2 bed apartments. All the rooms were good, clean and had everything you needed. We didnt need to fight for loungera in the morning but most people were quite quick to place towels. Some of the pool area had tiles that could do we replacing and some of the bridges needed attention. The Cool Bar by the pool was great for drinks, ice creams etc. The breakfast was always good, attentive staff. They offered various eggs too but no sign to say that so found out by seeing other peoples food. The nearby town of Carvoiero was great to visit too. Easy to get around in cabs and Ubers.

The 2 bedroom unit was well laid out. The cleaning staff were excellent. Great Pool and reasonably good gym. About a 20 min walk (5 min drive) to the seaside town of Carvoeiro where a number of good restaurants are located

This resort has great bones. It has the potential to be great and, I think, was once, not long ago. It’s let down by the condition of the rooms/apartments. The location is good, it’s possible to walk to a few restaurants and Carvoeiro is within striking distance. Our apartment was a good size, but just needed some maintenance and updating. The dishwasher didn’t wash dishes properly. The rail on the balcony was warped, “splintery” and needed painting/staining. The fittings in the bathroom were, in some cases, missing or broken. The mats in the gym are worn thin, the floor of the gym is stained and damaged. The TV service was good in terms of choice of channel, signal was patchy though and could benefit from providing access to Netflix, Prime etc. Would I go back? Yes, right after a renovation.

The property is overall nice and close to the beach. The interior of the apartment could be cleaner and in better shape and looks a little worn and rundown. The washing machine in our unit did not function properly . The showers were difficult to enter since they were up high .

The housekeeping service is lousy. They tSke s total of less than 10 minutes to clean and it remains messed up. One day they came at 9.30am I said in 29 mins we will be gone. Housekeeper said they will be back. That back was at 4.30pm after 2 reminders to the front s Desk

We really enjoyed our stay at Monte Santo and would happily return. Our room didn’t have enough blankets or towels and when they were replaced they often weren’t replaced equally (no bath mat after cleaning, missing face clothes). Otherwise, it was a great stay

Har vært mye i dette området. Dette har 5 stjerner det må være sol bleket disse stjerner. Litt slitt hotell. Renhold elendig var kakerlakker på rommet som dukket opp etter en dag, var i resepsjonen og sa i fra da ble det litt sure faktisk. renholder dårlig var flekker over alt. Ble heller ikke bedre. Hadde litt troen på dette hotellet men veldig skuffet. Men er mange andre fine plasser i dette området som faktisk holder stjerne standaren. Legger ved bilde av litt udyr og flekker.

On the first night of arrival we informed reception at 8pm there was a problem with ants in one of the bedrooms when we were leaving to go out for dinner, on our return at 12am nothing had being done about same only for the ants to have completely covered the beds, it took over 3 hours to get the matter resolved and moved to another room/villa. I note from reviewing previous comments another traveller had a similar problem in July 2023. Breakfast was poor and limited chose for what you would expect from a 5 star resort. Staff appeared to be indifferent to customers needs

The breakfast was really good with lots of options such as fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and coffee. The gym was good however it only opened at 9am which wasn't convenient if wanting to do exercise in the morning before breakfast as breakfast buffet closed at 10am. We stayed in a suite and it was really spacious with a nice outdoor area.

Nice spot really enjoyed it. All facilities excellent. Only small negative. The balconeys are unbelievably close to each other. It's like you're sharing a balcony nearly with your neighbours.

The location is perfect, but for a five star resort unfortunately it falls short especially in the properties. We stayed in a two bedroom Town House which on arrival looked fantastic, but soon noticed the poor condition internally. The living room had several loose floor tiles large chunks of plaster missing from walls and the skirting boards in an awful condition. The handrails for the stairs was a worry though they had definitely been coming away from the wall at some point and silicon had been used to try and hold the rail in place which wasn't working and clearly this is something they should address for safety purposes. Jacuzzi in each bathroom didn't work shower fixings broken or missing in each bathroom. Main bedroom balcony patio door lock was broken and the outside light didn't work.

This resort has great bones. It has the potential to be great and, I think, was once, not long ago. It’s let down by the condition of the rooms/apartments. The location is good, it’s possible to walk to a few restaurants and Carvoeiro is within striking distance. Our apartment was a good size, but just needed some maintenance and updating. The dishwasher didn’t wash dishes properly. The rail on the balcony was warped, “splintery” and needed painting/staining. The fittings in the bathroom were, in some cases, missing or broken. The mats in the gym are worn thin, the floor of the gym is stained and damaged. The TV service was good in terms of choice of channel, signal was patchy though and could benefit from providing access to Netflix, Prime etc. Would I go back? Yes, right after a renovation.

Unfortunately we had a number of maintenance issues , lots of broken things in the 2 bed townhouse air conditioning after a number of attempts could not be fixed , door was Broken , button to flush toilet and more they definitely need to be maintained better . Staff are great it’s a lovely resort but I can’t say it’s 5 star due to those issues I would say 4 stars and unfortunately won’t return .

This place is stunning, huge apartment equipped with everything you could possibly need lovely big balcony, the properties are well spaced out with lovely gardens meandering pathways though them The restaurant is also first class will definitely be returning.

Stayed mid-October. Fantastic resort, staff super friendly and attentive. We celebrated a couple of birthdays and received cakes and sparkling wines from the resort. Buffet breakfast was excellent. We loved it at Montesanto, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, we were there to celebrate my husband 50th birthday and they surprised him with a bottle of wine and cake. The facilities are very accessible for someone with difficulty with mobility for example, lift to the restaurant and pool and walkable paths around the property. We are definitely coming back!

This is a nice property that is convenient for families that want an apartment and kitchen but some of the hotel facilities issue we had was with the check-in team. They were not helpful at all and even though there were properties available as it was not fully occupied we had to wait until 4 o’clock to get our room on our first day even though we arrived at 11 am we were offered anywhere to change which was not ideal with children after a flight. Breakfast staff are friendly. Housekeeping was a bit hidden miss sometimes shower gel and towels would be replaced and sometimes not. We had an issue with our dryer, which was the only option to dry clothes after they had been washed. We did report this but it was not fixed.

Our stay at Monte Santo Resort started well but quickly turned into a series of frustrations. Upon arrival at our 3-bedroom villa, we found an external door that was unable to be locked and none of the phones working. Reporting these issues to reception was futile, as the phones were apparently on back-order – a claim I found hard to believe. The pool area was another disappointment. Despite a policy against reserving sunbeds with towels, this was ignored, making it impossible to find a sunbed during peak hours unless you joined in the same practice. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Portugal. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and especially great with the kids, which made a huge difference for us. On the first night of arrival we informed reception at 8pm there was a problem with ants in one of the bedrooms when we were leaving to go out for dinner, on our return at 12am nothing had being done about same only for the ants to have completely covered the beds, it took over 3 hours to get the matter resolved and moved to another room/villa. I note from reviewing previous comments another traveller had a similar problem in July 2023. Breakfast was poor and limited chose for what you would expect from a 5 star resort. Staff appeared to be indifferent to customers needs

Sejour agréable. Petit bemol sur le check in. Nous avions appele en amont pour prevenir que nous arriverions tot , on nous a indiqué que si la chambre nest pas encore prete nous pourrions au moins utiliser les équipements de l'hôtel (piscine et autres). Cependant quand nous sommes arrivés on nous a informé que l'on ne pouvait pas prendre les serviettes tant que le check in n'a pas été fait. The breakfast was really good with lots of options such as fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and coffee. The gym was good however it only opened at 9am which wasn't convenient if wanting to do exercise in the morning before breakfast as breakfast buffet closed at 10am. We stayed in a suite and it was really spacious with a nice outdoor area.

Great staff and the main pool was the main attraction. We were a group of 20 people staying in a mix of 2 bed apartments. All the rooms were good, clean and had everything you needed. We didnt need to fight for loungera in the morning but most people were quite quick to place towels. Some of the pool area had tiles that could do we replacing and some of the bridges needed attention. The Cool Bar by the pool was great for drinks, ice creams etc. The breakfast was always good, attentive staff. They offered various eggs too but no sign to say that so found out by seeing other peoples food. The nearby town of Carvoiero was great to visit too. Easy to get around in cabs and Ubers.

Etablissement tres propre et espaces verts tres bien entretenus. La demi pension décevante avec peu de variétés et de choix dans les plats, rapport qualité/prix élevé et petit dejeuner au nescafé! Par contre serveurs très agréables! Le SPA fermé alors que des soins avaient été réservés. A l'accueil peu de communication, donc plutôt décevant par rapport à ce qui était annoncé.

This accommodation was better than expected, yes the rooms are a bit tired and yes the pool area is. The staff are all lovely and it has a very relaxed vibe to it. It’s a good location if you’re not bothered about being near the beach. The walk to the town is a bit hilly and about 20 mins but that didn’t bother us. We had such a lovely holiday and for what we paid we thought it was excellent value for money. We didn’t use the spa but the gym was good. Small but decent. We would definitely recommend this resort.
