Property was a little run down from the outside, but once in it was really good. Room was very quiet, clean, and spacious. It had modern upgrades. They have gated parking for a reasonable price. Staff was courteous. It proximity to Hollywood area was awesome.

Nice entrance from parking lot. Gated locked parking but they did charge. Lovely inside atrium with fountain, plants, out door couches and chairs. Open to sky with lighting at night. Too bad they no longer have a bar in atrium. Perfect setting for drinks or coffee. Outside pool. Breakfast and store on site. No food or drinks available after breakfast onsite. Not a neighborhood you would want to wander around in. Although we had great food across the street at a El Pajonal (Salvadorian). Beer and wine only. Close to Hollywood walk of Fame and Hollywood sign.

There are about 100 restaurants, bars, etc. all within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel itself is an oasis in a bustling area. There’s a courtyard with soft music playing, a fitness center, a pool, a little store, and a laundry room… A refreshing fountain greets the traveler

Staff were great. The bedroom aspect was clean and tidy with the amenities we needed. The bathroom, whilst generally clean, was a little dated - particularly the shower and the extractor fan was extremely noisy and started automatic when the light was switched on. Whilst not central, the car park was secure.

Booked the most expensive room, ‘two bedroom suite ‘ - which was really only a one room suite with connecting second room - was not stated that way here or on their main website. Woke up to hundreds of ants everywhere! Disgusting! Went to front desk and mgr cane to room - stare bc we used bar in room it attracted the ants! I stay in hurley every single month plus my win home and have never encountered an issue like that. They did not offer any discount and honestly acted like they had no fault in it. Upon reading other reviews I now see this has been an ongoing problem for them. Terrible way to treat customers paying top dollar for most ‘luxurious’ room you have and act like this is acceptable way to wake up!! Additionally 4 people i suite all paying their parking fee as well. Disgusted by entire experience. as a side the restaurant/bar is closed and has been for a while. Bad section of Hollywood. Would not recommend at all. And this is my first ever negative review on Hotels.com btw, just shocked how it was all handled!

From the first sign hotel looks light and clean, but then we saw huge cockroach in lobby and lots of hair in the room’s bathroom. Parking is convenient, but we got charged twice, and money can’t be returned, because it’s supposed different facility than the hotel is charging for the hotel’s parking lot. Coffee is very nice at breakfast cafe. Swimming pool is very nice and clean, but the water is cold. Still the hotel is good for its price.

The pictures are very misleading. The room size is much smaller than it appears in the photos, but that's not out of the ordinary. However, the room and overall hotel condition were much more rundown than the impression presented by the photos. Walls were grimy, the bathtub was peeling, and the showerhead was calcified. The elevator was hot, very slow, and VERY banged-up. The lobby was outdated and felt very cheap. The exterior is in need of a refresh. However its one of the only affordable options in the area.

The rooms were dirty, there were ants in the restroom. I told front desk & all they did was send someone to clean them. Ants came right back. The room smelled like cigarettes. Hotel was very inconvenient

Room was stuffy. AC Was turned all the way down but just wasn't making a difference. I don't mind being warm but if anyone else was with me, we would have probably been requesting a different room. Also, it was too bright, was surprised to find the slider didn't have blackout curtains. with both curtains closed, it was still very bright in the room from the outside light from the courtyard. Other than that, no complaints, staff was awesome.

First of all, it’s completely false advertising that this is a 4 star property. This is a 2 star property at best! The property is dilapidated and worn down, and worse of all, filthy. There were ants in our room, hair on the floor, the bathroom clearly wasn’t cleaned properly, and for some reason our room shared a balcony with another guest (this wasn’t mentioned as a possibility anywhere in our booking - this is a safety issue and I would not have booked if I had known). No bar/restaurant, and the check in process was a headache. First of all, we couldn’t even get in the hotel lobby at first; doors are locked 24-7 (considering we were harassed while waiting outside to be let in, I can understand why they keep doors locked). The receptionist saw us and left the desk without checking us in or greeting us, then when he finally deigned to acknowledge us, I had to sign a suspiciously long liability waiver which I’ve never had to do at any hotel. The only good thing about this property is they have e-chargers and Tesla destination chargers. Such a scam that they charge 4 star hotel prices when the experience is motel at best.

Location very convenient for us, also because of the access to public transportation. But what happened to those LA neighborhoods? Homeless people okay, but these were mentally insane, screaming and cursing and giving a feeling of an unsafe neighborhood. And they are everywhere. The building and the rooms, are not so nice as the hotel’s pictures and promotional video. They did refresh the rooms but not everything. So you get new tiles in the bathroom but still the old and damaged wall paper. Paintwork is extremely sloppy. The worst thing is the elevator. Just one at the entrance, extremely old (60ies? 70ies?) and it takes forever. Doors don’t open on the ground floor unless you use the button to open. (Who knows that?) The cleaning service is a hit and miss; sometimes they just didn’t show up which is frustrating if you count on it. But they do a good job. TV is not nice to use, I also have a LG smart TV at home but this one is complicated to operate, esp. if you just want to watch some tv channels. The remote is terrible. As we knew there is currently no breakfast. (How long does that ‘renovation’ take?) And that is a bit of an issue since there are no coffee shops or IHOPs or Starbucks or Denny’s or so close by. It is quite a walk of multiple blocks to the nearest place. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. So it was a pretty good but not a great stay.

The hotel staff was very friendly and hopeful. The rooms were extremely small with limited space. Myself and one other person had difficulty placing our belongings in the bathroom. There was also no option to turn the temperature up higher than 75 and it was extremely cold in the room at night/in the morning

Do not take the pictures at face value. The entrance to this property is a driveway just off the street. Honestly I thought they had taken me to the wrong property at first. The area around the hotel is not the worst but also not the best and was extremely loud each night until around midnight or so.

Hotel staff was condescending and rude. The room looked nothing like the advertisement. We went a day with no A/C and no fans or anything was offered. If you don't have a plate on the front of your car, be prepared to get out of your car in a rough neighborhood to be buzzed in. And that's if they pick up right away and don't keep you waiting outside at 11pm at night with bums walking around.

We had a rough start to our trip to LA, but when I got to the counter to check in the staff was amazing. They helped me with parking, they informed me to just have delivery dropped off at the front desk, they just made the day so much better. The room was clean and the property was just so beautiful.

The front desk staffs are all amazing, especially Pil. The house keepers are all attentive and professional. The dining experiences we had every day were incredible, kudos to Adam who took care of us for food preparation. We initially only planned to stay 1 night and extended our stay for a long term. They are all trying to do their best with the positive attitude and energy. Gated parking for $40, per night. Worth it. Extremely safe environment to stay in the WeHo/central Hollywood/E Hollywood area. Not far from the Metro if you take public transportation. Everything you need is in walking distance for us, even thought we drive. Overall, We will continue to stay here and come back as loyal guests whenever we are in town. Everything here is above and beyond for us. We highly recommend this hotel for whom would like to make the reservation and enjoy their journey in Los Angeles. It worths every penny. Xoxoxoooo

The price is great for the value, however, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Additionally, there is no coffee maker in the room and the coffee downstairs is very overpriced. There is no free breakfast and everything in the cafe was crazy expensive. Like $6 for a cup of cereal and $7 for a coffee expensive. That said, it’s in a central area and two blocks from the metro and the staff was so nice and accommodating so still a good deal!

The Hollywood Hotel was very convenient for our first trip to LA without a car. It was clean, had a beautiful pool area and courtyard, and was close to the Vermont/Santa Monica Metro station. It was only 15 minutes away from West Hollywood by subway, and it was easy to get to the Hollywood Bowl and Dodgers stadium using transit or Uber. The neighborhood north of the hotel is pretty safe, as it is mainly a medical district with a couple of major hospitals. We walked it at night with no issues. However, the neighborhood deteriorates quickly if you walk south on Vermont beyond Santa Monica Boulevard. There is a complex with a Rite Aid, restaurants, AM/PM, and a seafood market/grocery right at the corner of Vermont and Santa Monica that’s safe to walk to in the daytime. Only issue was getting good coffee in the morning. The bistro has an espresso machine, but the staff are overwhelmed by the breakfast crowd, so you can wait a long time. They should have self-serve drip coffee available for guests. Fortunately, there’s a good coffee shop just steps away south on Vermont called De La Tierra. Highly recommended. For a hotel in this price range, it was very good value. We’d do it again!

We selected this hotel, because it was the closest, most attractive hotel to the Greek Theater. We paid extra to park in a secure parking lot. Since the Greek theater was 2 miles away, we arranged Uber transport to the theater for the show which we attended. The hotel was great. It expressed charm from a bygone era. It was clean and well maintained. Our room faced an inner courtyard full of luscious plants and a chattering fountain. My only complaint would be the neighborhood, which was middle-class residential. There were no nearby restaurants or shops. It was not a neighborhood which would invite one to walk about. Fortunately there was a coffee shop in the hotel where one could buy breakfast.

Good location. Two metro stations can be reached in a few minutes (Vermont/Santa Monica Vermont Sunset). Los Feliz and Silver Lake are around the corner as well as Hollywood. Breakfast (not complimentary) available. Rooms are clean. The sourrounding area does not appear to be the safest though. Lot's of homeless people.

Other then the fact that the area right around the property is a little sketchy, it's a real gem. If you are going to a show at The Greek or want to bounce around the Los Feliz area, which is great, it's a good affordable option.

I would’ve given the property a higher rating, but I’m very disappointed that they still list a restaurant and bar on site as being operational when in fact, both have been close since Covid with no plans to reopen. They need to update the website as this is very misleading, so when it was time to find food or beverage, you had to leave the property.

We stayed at this hotel last night because we wanted a place close to the Greek Theater for a concert. In that case this place can\'t be beat. Literally on the same street and a short 15 minute UBER ride to the concert was awesome! The rooms are small, clean and safe. The check in staff were nice and helpful. The gift shop man is super nice and has everything you want and not too expensive. Parking was cheap for LA, and it\'s a gated closed lot, so the car was safe from whatever. So I will stay there again for sure if I have a concert to go to at the Greek. Now the negative: Had booked two rooms through Expedia. The other couple came down with Covid two days before, so I called and asked about cancelling one room. Nope. Non-refundable. I was good with that since I didn\'t buy the insurance, but when I checked in, the place was fully booked. I asked them if they wanted my extra room back, and they said no. If you ask me, that\'s freakin\' lazy and for that I can\'t recommend them. And last, do not go down to the "bistro" on the basement level. Wanted two cups of coffee this morning since there was not an option in the room. Two cups, 18 bucks and 20 minutes later, I kinda had my order. I suggest that actually let customers pour their own cream in the cups! Maybe they will read this and make a couple changes, because this could be a great place for concerts!

The property was beautiful. In great shape, and nostalgic. Loved it. Unfortunately, there is no way to get coffee before 6:30 ish. Mostly not until till 6:45. When the restaurant opens. And the coffee at the restaurant is very expensive, $10 for coffee with cream to get your day started for take out is outrageous. They need to rethink this. We met several people unhappy with this. The A/C in our Room did not work, just recirculated air, but the room we booked for our daughter across the hall was great. It wasn’t too hot in LA that weekend, so we dealt with it. I did alert the hotel staff. So all in all, a very nice hotel that is close to a lot of things, it just needs to listen to the customers. Front desk staff was so so. Morning lady was great, but evening guy was completely disinterested.

I like the two-queen sized room decor and the beautiful view from my window. The only flaw was their restaurant. It was too expensive. I drove from expensive NY but I wasn't going to spend more than I had to for food. However, I did agree to buy a $3 cup of black coffee. Thereafter, I walked to McDonald's every morning for breakfast. There were other restaurants within a couple of blocks from McDonald's where I bought food and coffee from too: Subway, Donkin' Donut's and a gas station for a 6 pack. I would stay at this hotel again. This hotel was clean, comfortable and felt glamorous. I was allowed to check in at least two hours before regular check-in time. The staff were friendly and helpful.
