Logan at the front desk was welcoming, knowledgeable and hilarious. Made our checking in after a long day of travel a surprisingly positive experience. No dining on-site, but there’s a respectable little convenience store area next to check in. Will have to drive 5-9min to find a variety of food options, so not terrible…… or you can always just have food brought to you! Friendly staff all around.

The property is close to the cruise terminal and easy to get to. I was quite surprised that due to their proximity, they don't have a shuttle to/from the terminal. Overall it was a good experience.

Property is aging, carpets frayed and just kinda down on its heels for the price. It’s not bad but not that nice either. Remote was missing, no xtra linens, room was only ok clean, asked for maid service and this was ignored. Front desk people were ok. Breakfast, on the other hand, was great. Probably won’t stay again

The hotel and ground were clean and in great condition. Our room was spotless and the amenities were plentiful. The staff were all very nice and friendly. Plenty of parking though the price was a bit steep. Queen Mary is walking distance. Overall we would stay again.

Ceiling light fixture leaked onto the kitchen floor overnight and I slipped in a puddle I couldn’t see. The staff was friendly but they didn't do anything but remove my parking for 1 day for me slipping in a puddle of water that leaked from their light fixture. I also took a video. As far as views it’s beautiful at night, but there was also a lot of trash in the harbor and it looked disgusting to view during the daytime.

We enjoyed our stay and how convenient it was to the places we wanted to visit. The breakfast was outstanding and had such a variety of items to choose from. The rooms are looking a little run down but our views were the best. We did have a few ants in our bathroom, kitchen and bedroom side table.

Overall it was an okay experience. We noticed that there were ants in the bathtub and bathroom sink. Im sure there needs to be more pest control in the hotel. The mattress was too hard on my back. Also the shower curtain seriously needed to be replaced as it was gross with red mold.

Room had a king size bed, that was comfortable. The pull out was very "used". The mattress and blankets were old and we had to turn off the air conditioner as our child, who slept on the pull out got very cold, blanket was thin and old. Otherwise, overall room was comfortable.

Stayed here for one night on a Saturday night and I don’t know if this happens often or not but there is a parking lot and public boat ramp literally right next to the hotel,late into the night until about 1 am there were a lot of cars ( completely packed) hanging out, revving their engines, playing music crazy loud and even setting off fireworks. We did not sleep well at all and although the hotel itself was very nice I would never chance this happening again and would not stay here again. Without that problem the location to downtown and the carnival terminal were great. It’s really too bad.

We booked a one-night stay before embarking on our cruise. We took a Lyft from LAX. It dropped us right at the front door. Check-in was smooth and the front desk employee was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well-appointed, and had a beautiful view. We ordered delicious pasta from Big E pizza based on an employee's recommendation. The breakfast had great variety and was good. Check-out was smooth. They were able to break some larger bills for me at the front desk for tipping on the cruise ship. We took the walking path rather than using a ride share. It is mostly a beautiful paved sidewalk along the water and others were doing the same. There are some parking lots to cross. It was doable. Realistic expectations: the sofa bed is a sofa bed. It's not anything to rave about, but works for one night. There is not a lot of shopping on this side of the bridge or restaurants that deliver nearby if you have no vehicle. You can have food delivered for a fee. I would book Residence Inn again if we do another Long Beach cruise.

I had a terrible experience with the employees at the front desk who took my credit card for incidentals and charged me for the room when I paid for it with a third party. I went down the next morning and explained that AGAIN and it took 25 minutes by which time they had closed breakfast. They assured me that they had it handled I went on my way and THREE WEEKS LATER my credit card was again charged the full amount of the room. I called the hotel and spoke with Jocelyn who once again assured me that everything was in order but Expedia had not paid them. I liked the hotel and it’s in a super location but my experience with the staff was very poor. I have canceled my card and am awaiting a refund. I would be very wary of handing over your CC.

BEWARE OF THE $300 hold. Expedias website nor Marriotts website mentions this hold. Being that this hotel is close to the cruise port I am sure many people would stay prior to their cruise. The $300 hold is an inconvenience especially when it takes 7-10 business days to be released. The nightly rate isn’t even as much as the hold they place on the card. They tell you to put your card in for “a hold” and unless you ask, they don’t tell you how much. Property isn’t worth paying over $500 for a stay at all! I will never stay at a Marriott hotel again.

Overall very nice property! FD agent was very helpful and professional. I’m a front office manager at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT! And I was very impressed with every interaction we had with employees as of now! Beds are nice, room is clean! If I visit Long Beach again, I will definitely stay again at this property! Keep up the good costumer service! !

All of the staff members were extremely friendly, even to saying hello while passing by. As far as hotel breakfasts go, this has been by far the most efficient and delicious we have had, with lots of options available for those who have allergies. The rooms were well stocked if you’re needing to stay for more than a weekend, and plenty of room for two. It was also only a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Long Beach, which saves on travel fare. So worth it!

Great location for walking to the cruise ship and walk across the bridge for dining and shopping. We loved the area and from our window we found ourselves watching people Load and unload their boats. Very comfortable and felt safe and staff was always amazing. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable and would definitely stay again. We recommend this spot !

Hotel is in a pretty desolate area next to boat docks. There are many transient people in the area so be extra careful when leaving the hotel grounds. Parking at night is horrible! Parking spots only fit a small compact car. They have overflow parking that is pretty far and dark so don’t go alone. A car was stolen right out of the parking lot when we were there! So we returned to police activity and crying guests. They lock the doors to the hotel at 10pm, and I see why but hire security don’t make guests feel like prisoners! We couldn’t get in when we came because of this and the guy at the counter acted like he didn’t even want to open the doors. So the guests began banging on the doors and he reluctantly opened the doors stating they lock at 10pm. How GHETTO! Boat docks get pretty rowdy so if your room faces the docks be prepared for loud noise ALL NIGHT! Helicopter, people fighting, water police on their bull horns, sirens, you name it…ALL NIGHT! Inside rooms are smaller than normal and pretty worn for what I thought was a newer hotel. Peeling in the shower, sink stopped up, and scuffing on the walls and doors. Gym equipment was pretty good but there was a leak in the ceiling so a bucket was set up to catch water. Pool is nice although I didn’t get in. Breakfast was pretty basic nothing special except they had a “tip cup” I’ve never seen before. I will never stay here again.

Property is a bit hard to find but once there, it worked out well. Loved the easy walk across the Queensway Bridge to Shoreline Village, outlet mall and more. No easy access to restaurants near the hotel---one downside.

Our experience was very positive from the time we checked in until we left. The included breakfast was wonderful, and I would recommend this hotel. If you need somewhere to stay in the area, it was a very good value, and I would certainly stay here again. Nice waterway views !
