Never used the pool because it was dirty, even the maid agreed that it was a little green , my wife was very disappointed by this! Also the water pressure in the shower was very little and the sink faucet was loose . One of the beds mattresses seen better days , like sleeping in a hole , mgmt was told and someone did show up to check the water ! I had no problem last year it seems that quality left for vacation and never returned! All the problems was addressed to the staff and I made video of the water pressure which being on the top floor may have caused the issue . The grounds were also going to pot , dirty parking lot . I love the location but I don’t think I’ll make any reservations here again .

Overall the staff was amazing but the property was a little dirty in some aspects. We couldn’t use the pool (by choice) because the bottom of the pool felt slimy and had a film on it, the rooms were decent but the floors had sand all over them from previous guests. I do want to give a shout out to the amazing staff that were very accommodating and the lady at the front desk (I don’t remember her name but I remember she was from NY) who was welcoming and addressed all of my needs. I was informed that the hotel will be getting renovated and should be completed within a year so maybe I’ll give it another try but over all for the price the hotel was decent and in a good location.

We booked this hotel for a weekend getaway. We were excited about swimming in the pool. But upon arrival the pool looked cloudy and had a tun of stuff in the bottom and no water movement. With us working in the pool business we tested it and the chemicals were not is a safe range. For the price and if I would have known the pool would be in this condition I would have booked elsewhere. The room was clean. The tub needs some grab bars and anti slip in the tub. The shower head leaked and didn't work well. If you allow pets you need to make sure that pets are kept quiet. We were woken up a few times by a dog barking down the hall. I mostly likely will book a different hotel in this area next time I visit.

It is definitely an old beach style hotel. The outside is fairly rundown and old looking however, the room we had was updated and not that bad. The water pressure was really really weak, but the bed was super comfortable. So if you’re looking for a basic place to sleep that’s not that great or not that bad then this is a decent option. The outside could definitely use some upgrade so it didn’t look so rundown. But the pool area was decent and the pool was nice and clean. You could easily walk to the beach, which was nice. And the front desk staff was always friendly.

We had a 2 bdrm unit. It is very spacious and having a full kitchen saves a lot money in food. The pool is nice, has many loungers or chairs to choose from. The pool is outdoor so eventhough the filter was runing, there were a few bugs on top. The good thing is that the skimmer is right there so i would scoop out all of them before going in. The beach is great. The actual access to the swimming area is at the jetty park. The water is calm and the sand is clean. The area is very quiet. We took our dogs and you feel safe even late at night while walking the dogs before going to bed. There is plenty of parking. Washer and dryer available for 2 each (in quarters). In the front there are tables and chairs plus a full size bbq grill for guests use.

We stay at Royal Inn at least once per year. It’s pet friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The close location to the jetty/beach and surrounding restaurants is very convenient. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating and the pool is clean. The only issue we had was the hotel’s phone lines were down so we weren’t able to contact them prior to checking in. Otherwise, great stay as usual.

This is the first time we have ever left a property in the middle of a stay. The room was dirty our sheets, pillows, curtains, floor, everything. They did give us a new sheets to change ourselves (which were also dirty). Our lock had been busted in before and not fixed. The hotel was not secure from people walking in off the street. It was loud with people yelling in halls. Did not feel safe keeping our kids there at night. It was not as close to the beach as we were lead to believe and looked nothing like the pictures. I will say the staff was friendly and did let us out of our reservation. I would not recommend staying here.

This place might have been ok at one time, but it is dirty, moldy, and nasty now. No ocean views, run down and dangerous. The stains on the couch/bed and chairs was disgusting. No matter what don't stay here it is probably a health hazard. There are many other great places to stay that are spotless for about $30 more a night.

This was absolutely disgusting. Cigarette butts all over outside, stains on furniture. Smelled terrible. Door looks like its been kicked in. Pool was dirty and unswimmable. This was the worst place i have ever seen. Photos are a lie amd this shouldn't even be on hotels.com website. Irresponsible to rent this place out

Dirty hotel room and elevator. Room door looked like it’s been broken into before and never fixed. Bugs crawling on walls. Dirty sheets. Dogs barking all night long next door. Mold and mildew on curtains and ac unit. Musty smell. Overall worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

I would NEVER recommend that anyone stay here. The location was good. (That is about as good as it gets) Our room was filthy. There was black mold on the curtains, and the valance above the air conditioner. Thick dust on the lamp shades. Floor was dirty, windows were dirty. The balcony was not swept or clean. We complained to the front desk and they did send someone to address the issues. The only thing that was done was to spray lysol on the mold and clean that off the valance. The maid apologized to us for "missing" the mold. Also there is a sixteen dollar a day resort fee, that we did not know about. I don\'t know what makes this place a "resort" as they only have a pool, that also was not very clean. Avoid this place at all costs.

The room had mold and covered in dust. The floor were dirty. Fire sprinklers were rusted and haven't looked serviced. Would not recommend and will never stay there. Expedia should not have this place on their site.

I booked this hotel primarily for the advertised ocean view, but there was no ocean in sight—just a parking lot and bushes. The room was dirty, the bathroom was gross, and the balcony was unusable with a rusty, broken chairs that was a safety hazard. The dresser drawers were also broken. Hoping to salvage our stay, we tried the pool, only to find it disgusting with unclean water and trash around the area. This hotel was a huge disappointment and not worth the money, yet they charge a resort fee!!! Avoid at all costs.

There are definitely some cons when I stayed. My husband and our babies had one room & my mother and my siblings were staying in a different room. Both rooms had mold spots on the curtains and a lot of dust piling on the curtains as well. However, in my room, it would get kind of humid like because the ceiling fan didn’t work. At night, it cooled down in the room without the fan at least, so it made it bearable. My mother’s room had a ceiling fan that worked tho and her room was super cold, just how she likes it. The pool area was nice, the temp of the water is perfect (don’t know if they control that or not) but they have chairs you can sit and tan, two big umbrellas to sit under as well. As far as noise. Just remember you are in a busy area for the weekend so during the weekend you will hear a lot of motorcycles and cars but there are always cops hanging around making sure everything is good as well. You can easily hear someone moving their furniture around on the floor above you or someone talking outside in the hallway or by their cars. The pool area doesn’t have a time as to when it closes on their rules board but the lady locked it up at 10pm in case anyone was wondering what time it closes.

I booked an ocean view room but when I arrived it was a balcony with a barely visible ocean view. Ocean view is only available on the 3rd floor. We were given a room on the 2nd floor. Rooms are small, dated, and not worth the price. Area is convenient and nice. I will come back to this area... Not this "hotel."

The location is great- not touristy- great restaurants in walking distance! Amanda welcomed us warmly and gave us a quick lay of the land. The hotel is rather old and the rooms were clean but rundown. THE BED and AC however… the room was humid and smelled musty despite the AC cooling. The bed was indented in the middle and sleep was impossible! We left with achy necks and backs, and a huge headache. It’s a shame- if they would remodel and upgraded the place would be lovely. On a side note they did change an additional “destination charge” - I hate when one price is posted yet you arrive and it’s something else.

We stayed here for a week. Staff are awesome and super friendly. Room was very clean. The rooms are old and some things need repair. We would definitely stay again. Hopefully they make some repairs to the rooms.

The place was an older hotel but they have modernized it cosmetically. It was convenient to the beach and restaurants (5-10 minute walk). The only downside was our entry door did not fit the frame ( 1/4 inch gap all around). It was also hard to open, the cleaning lady had to show us the trick to use it. It was broken at the bottom and seemed like it had been kicked in several times. It definitely needs repaired or replaced soon. All in all it was the least pricy for being as close to the beach as we were.

The rooms haven't been updated since the 70's. Floors cant be cleaned no matter how the mop them, baseboards have 49 yrs of crud. AC did not work very well. We paid for ocean view, but were pla ced on 2nd fl. Can't see the ocean from that floor.However with that being said. Staff was so friendly and easy to work with. Beds were clean and very comfortable.

The staff is Awesome & worked with us for a late arrival. Very clean rooms & amenities. I only took a point off because our room was 1/2 renovated & 1/2 older. Our 1st thought on the beds was Oh No ! Because they were hard, but to our amazement they were very comfortable & we slept like babies, lol The pillows were great as well, not squishy like the fancy hotels are. We would stay here again !

Just a short walk across the street to the beach. Theres a little outside coffee shop right next to the hotel. Excellent places to eat nearby. Will definitely book here again in the future. Very happy with the room. My wife loved how comfortable the beds are.

This little hotel is a little old but it has been renovated and is very nice.. we have come here several times and are very happy with the friendliness of the employees here. Good location, a very short walk to the beach and restaurants. If you do have a problem with your room, for us they have been very quick to fix any kind of problem you might have.

It was great being within easy walking distance to the beach, jetty, river walk and restaurant. We had a nice ocean view from our room. The whole area was very peaceful until the weekend, when thoughtless people with extra-loud vehicles and ear-splitting music started driving/riding around.

The pictures on hotels.com are not representative of the current condition of the hotel. It needs some updating. It’s definitely on the lowest end of quality accommodations in the area. The room was clean. There are no bars/restaurants attached to the hotel itself. There are some within walking distance. The sunset view looks over an older neighborhood but sunset is blocked by buildings. The ocean view is blocked by condos on the beach. Pool needed a good cleaning. Cushions looked mildewed . Across the road, Jetty area is nice. Beach is nice, watch out for washed up tar and jellyfish. Not enough amenities for the price

Amanda the hostess at the check in counter was extremely helpful and accommodating when I arrived! The room was beautiful and nice! Ocean views on one side! The hotel is walking distance to beach and very nice restaurants grill and bars!

I paid for an oceanfront room. Nope. There was supposed to be breakfast. Nope. Only coffee is offered—due to Covid, they said. It was dog friendly, true, but had to pay an unlisted fee. Then there was a “resort “ fee that also wasn’t included or listed on the website with the cost. I was NOT a happy camper. 😩
