The good: Location is just a short walk from restaurants, shops, street food market and beach (albeit up a steep but short hill). Both kids clubs are great, but it's a shame the indoor play area is restricted to one hour free per day. The pool area and restaurant is good. All staff were friendly and great with kids. Amenities for kids - pop up play tent in bedroom, kids toiletries, toys, kids dining chairs in the restaurant. The bad: Our first room was dingy and damp with a view of the fire escape stairs. We were told to keep the aircon at 20/21 degrees to prevent the floor becoming wet, because of 'rainy season and the humidity'. This room temperature was freezing! Despite keeping the room cold our clothes started to smell damp, the bed felt like getting into a wet bag and bath towels never dried. The dingy corridor outside the room had damp walls too. We changed room to a higher floor on a sunnier side of the hotel and no longer had the damp problem, even though it was still 'rainy season with humidity'! In general the rooms are tired - every piece of carpentry was chipped or damaged. Only one of the two shower heads worked, the bath tap didn't work, no bedside lights even though there was a switch for them, no hooks for towels. The beds were rock hard and shaped like a banana - we didn't sleep well. Overall a great hotel for kids if you ignore the problems with the rooms and a good location. However it is far from 5*

Stayed 5 nights

We spent 5 days here as a family - good location, walking distance to the nearby markets and the beach. The hotel is well maintained and very family friendly with a kids pool and a kids club. Our room was spacious and family friendly and overall in good condition. The hotel staff are great - very friendly and happy to help. Breakfast offers a sold spread with plenty of hot food options and a dedicated egg station. Only downside is, as much as everything is walking distance, the hotel is on a steep hill so can be quite a workout going up and down but taking a taxi/tuk-tuk is very easy and doable.
