Cottage Lodge Hotel

A very compact cottage Hotel in a very pleasant village with a most welcoming Manager and staff, not to mention Morritzi’s (so sorry if I have misspelt his name) friendly dog called Pluto! Very stylish decor in the Dining room with such relaxing background music was a delight. White tails restaurant was very good with a great cuisine.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. A wide range of tasty breakfast options was available and the evening meals in the White Tails restaurant were delicious. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and very clean. On the downside, the stairs were rather steep and corridors poorly lit. For tall visitors, many of the beams were hazardous; I have the scars to prove it!

Details- Lovely hotel in the new forest. Located in Brockenhurst, which is between lyndhurst and lymington. The beach is about 15-20 drive south. The magnificent forest is a stone through away. Purpose- Family short break (June) Local- There is a petrol station near by and a tesco express around the corner in brokenhurst village. There are limited places to eat here. Lymington is much better. General Pros- •Cosy, clean, friendly & helpful staff, •Beautifully furnished & large bedrooms •Generously portioned breakfast •Good value •Nice location •quiet •comfortable beds •Free, personally assigned car parking space Eco Pros- •Electric car charger •Plant-based options for breakfast •Solar Panels Cons- •None really Eco Cons- •There is one electric car charger (as far as I can tell) which is a slow charger (240v UK plug, this equates to ~ 2.4Kw (this means ~ 20 hours for a fully charge given efficiency losses and a 10A charger). Since you can only charge over night, we were able to charge about half. This costs £10. This is similar to a motorway service station. However it is far from extortionate. In reality the above isn’t a CON it’s a PRO. I was just giving some additional info for electric car owners. Make sure you book the nights charging before you arrive because it’s situated I. Front of a specific assigned car parking space. •Limited Plant Based options in their main restaurant. Overall: I would fully and warmly recommend this excellent little hotel.

Great position in The New Forest; train station and bike hire less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. Nice light airy room and great to have allocated parking spot.

We enjoyed our stay and had a super meal in White tails restaurant .

We all had a superb stay here. The Hotel make you feel so at home and greet you with a Tea/Coffee and a slice of cake upon arrival. Parking is right in front of the hotel off the main road and has be reached by going over a cattle rig structure. The in structure is quite simple to get over. The Exit one is a different kettle of fish as it goes up into the air and drops down over on to the curb. I know for a fact if I had brought my sports car I would have never been able to leave that way as it would have grounded the car in the raised cattle grid. When you do get in to the car park the area is laid out into individual bays which are marked out with lengths of wood. Your name will be at the head of one of these bays which is a nice touch. Don't be put off parking your car with regards the exit cattle grid as you can basically park your car along the road outside as I saw a number of other cars doing just that. The rooms are cosy and spacious. We loved our room overlooking the car park. Breakfast is superb and you really cant go wrong. There is a restaurant on site which does evening meals and non residence use this as well. We never ate here in the evening but many did. In the snug room where you will wait upon arrival there is an honesty fridge with beers, wine, prosecco, cider etc. These are realistically priced and all you do is fill in one of the small sheets with your name, room, drink, quantity and cost and they will work it out and add this on your bill at the end.

Cottage lodge hotel is situated in a lovely spot within walking distance of restaurants and coffee shops. Tea/coffee and cake on arrival was most welcome. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Would return and recommend.

We stayed at the cottage lodge for one night in November We arrived at 2pm and we were ushered into the snug to check in and for coffee and cake which was a nice touch however the fire was not lit, there were no lights on and it was cold! We stayed in The Foresters room which is quite basic. Nice comfy bed and all very clean but so very cold We asked if they could put the heating on but the owner was very dismissive and replied…” it goes on at 4pm and I cannot change that… we can’t have the heating on all day!” They provide a small electric heater in the room but that doesn’t have any effect on the bathroom We decided to go out and find a pub or cafe to warm up. Very disappointed with the owners attitude, we are paying guests and he was not concerned about the temperature in the bedroom He did apologise and left a complimentary bag of herbal tea in our room Maybe we can warm our hands on the kettle when it comes to the boil. Breakfast was really good, lots of choice and very nicely cooked but you cannot help but notice the staff wearing hoodies and jumpers inside ! Sometimes clever marketing and positive reviews can lead you to making a mistake and this was one of those times Overpriced and underwhelmed

From start to finish, we were made to feel very welcome by Maurizio and the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was immaculate and very comfortable and the breakfast delicious.

I treated my mom to a weekend away at New Forest last weekend and we stayed at Cottage Lodge Hotel - the room was amazing, super clean and fantastically maintained. The hosts were super sweet and kind. The breakfast was exceptional!! A lot of information for routes around the forest and information for the village and nearby towns. We both look forward to returning back - I really can’t recommend this place enough. We loved absolutely everything!

The toilet seat was loose, the bed quite lumpy so didn’t sleep too well, could do with a shelf near the sink area and a mirror closer to the plug socket to be able to dry hair closer. On the plus side the welcome was fab, the food delicious but downside The Whitetail Restaurant onsite was rushed.

Had a one night stay with my partner, the staff at the hotel were very welcoming and we had a lovely pot of tea and some cake on arrival for free! The only thing I would mention is that we stayed in the ‘little Alice room’ and while it was fine for us, for anyone hitting the 6ft+ hight it may feel a little claustrophobic in there as the doors and ceiling heights are lower than standard.

Lovely property, staff very attentive. Only real issue was whilst in our room you could at times hear other people's conversations, perhaps soundproofing under the floorboards may help - I do realise it is an old building.

The room (William 1st) was very spacious with all the basic amenities, e.g. coffee-making facilities, towel warmers, heater, hairdryer etc. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and delivered with a smile. Highly recommend and hope to be back with friends in the spring or summer.

What a lovely hotel this is, it was a pleasure to meet the staff who were all just so friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was simply fabulous. Perfect location for anyone wanting to explore the New Forest, within a stones throw of the village and pubs. We will most definitely be back.

Great stopover for a trip to the New Forest.

What a lovely hotel this is, it was a pleasure to meet the staff who were all just so friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was simply fabulous. Perfect location for anyone wanting to explore the New Forest, within a stones throw of the village and pubs. We will most definitely be back.

Excellent location in the centre if Brickenhurst but quit within and around the hotel; we had a lovely sun trap outside our room!

What a fun place—the building dates to 1650, the staff were excellent, and the village nothing less than charming.

My stay at Cottage Lodge was short and sweet (2 nights). The check-in was welcoming, enhanced by a lovely cup of tea and cake.
