I stayed at this property to visit Chicago. The property was in very good condition, and the room was meticulously clean. TV has decent channel selection which includes HBO. The soaking tub was a very nice amenity, and the water pressure was crazy good (took only 2-3 minutes to fill entire tub). Bed and pillows were very comfy. My only complaint is the spotting wifi in room 824. This is the end of the hallway and I suspect there are no repeaters placed at the hallway end. I am also disappointed that in 2023 all hotel rooms do not have USB chargers. The fitness room was well-equipped with standard cardio, strength machines, and dumbbells up to 50 lbs. All equipment was in exceptional condition. I didn't visit casino, but I did eat dinner at the burger restaurant and it was quite good. For runners, there are not many options for morning outdoor runs. However, there is a long sidewalk in front that is about 0.8 miles. I ran back and forth on it and that wasn't bad. No pool, but there is a city-operated beach next door that is fairly decent. All staff I encountered were extremely pleasant and helpful. Drive to d/t Chicago is about 45 minutes, but it was worth it to save the cost. There are VERY few food/shopping options near the property, so plan ahead. I would definitely return.

I would not recommend. I had to search for an ice machine to get ice. There were 12 floors, front desk said just have to check each floor, finally found ice on the 12th floor. Only one luggage cart available, was told, all the carts are locked in the luggage room until bellhop comes in the for their shift. The actual Casino was dirty, smokey, smelled awful, half the machines worked. I wish I checked other reviews.

Upon my arrival, there where no luggage carts available. My room on the tenth floor smelled like weed, and it was non smoking. The places to eat are very limited and not open very much. There are no close places to eat. The ice machines where all broken. I was supposed to leave on saturday, but I was so disgusted that I left a day early.

the hotel accommodations were good because we had a room and a casino which is our main reason for picking Ameristar. The Starbuck's coffee machine was GREAT and GREAT price. The staff expecially handy man Brian was Great . The things i did not like in the hotel the carpet in room had a cigarettes smell and was stained. the fitness room lacked a bicycle for exercise and was missing 10 lbs. dumbbell's.

Bath tub and toilet wasn't clean. Hair on one of the bed. Room need to dusted. No soap for shower or bath. I had to go to the store to get something to clean the tub by some soap. Keys for the room stop working.I was lock out. Only thing you had was shampoo.

The bathroom floor had a lot of hair on it and old chips. The carpet had food on it and the refrigerator had a half a bottle of juice in it. I was very disappointed

Cheap rooms, located next to a park and a scenic steel mill that makes the air smell like rotten eggs. Rooms are big but not well thought out. Typically you would want your "Lake View" rooms to not have the beds pointed the opposite direction of the "lake view". Room was non smoking but smelled like a chain-smoker had been living in it. No amount of air freshener would help. Body wash bottle in the shower was empty which means they do not refill after each guest. No soap to wash your hands with at the sink besides a Shampoo/Conditioner combo. Questionable stains all on the walls and carpets had not been cleaned in a while. Beds felt like the springs were going to lodge themselves into my back all night. Coffee machine in lobby cost $7 for a Mocha with no Mocha. Beach was shut down to swimming due to high bacteria count. Found out it's considered one of the most polluted beaches in the US. Staff were nice and rest of the facilities seemed okay. This place has the potential to be good but it needs some real work first.

We had to wait over a hour along with others because their system had issues with our reservations from a 3rd party. The 1st room they gave us was not vacuumed and the tables had food stains on them. The 2nd room smelled like the sewer. Room# 3 was nice but dam it took you 3 tries. Very disappointing because this is my guests favorite hotel!

Checking in was super easy. Once we got to our room we turn the AC on and it sounded like it turned on. We went down to the casino and we came back the room was still warm. Inside the bathroom the vent was filled with like toilet paper or a paper towel. The shower and bathtub had nice hot water which we liked. The room was spacious and a nice view of the water outside. The ice machine was not working but there was a worker working on it when we left. We used the express checkout to check out. Overall our stay would have been excellent but only rated it good because the AC was not great.

Room and hotel were beautiful casino not very big but well maintained. The air conditioning in my room was not working and it was 90+degrees they sent someone up right away to fix it but it went out again shortly after that happened 3x total which was frustrating but over all experience was good

To sum it up, we arrived at the hotel after 3;30am due to flight delays and my room was cancelled (although I had been in contact with the hotel during each delay, I had my reservation guaranteed with my card and the hotel had preauthorized one night’s stay on my card).

A guy checked us in Friday night at 8. ( check in took longer than usual but we were understanding . We went to the room And smelled like smoke. He apologied and told us he would move us to another room with a bed and pull out by we were in a room with two doubles. He also said he would take some of the cost off the room For the inconviencr and would call. We tried to call and tell them the couch was not a pullout. They kept hanging up on us and not answering. He never called to correct the fee and then when we went downstairs to talk tk someone he told her he never said that the room was a pullout. Integrity is everything. Please watch that employee bc his moral compass is broke . He never called about the room fee adjustment.

Love staying there with my girlfriend. The staff is very nice, rooms are affordable, and it’s convenient. I even got stuck in the bathroom late one night and maintenance came right away to help. Wonderful experience.

This is my second trip to this property. We have started staying here during business to Chicago as it is cost-effective and reasonably close on the way back to Indianapolis. We’ve always had great service from everyone at the hotel, including the restaurant staff. Check in was quick and relatively simple. The fitness room is in good condition and has plenty of equipment for about any workout. I have always been the only person in there early in the morning. The soaking tub is a nice luxury, and it has plenty of water and pressure. The entire tub fills within a couple of minutes.

Dave from front desk was amazing, extremely friendly and helpful. Room was great, clean, and comfortable bed. Staff we encountered were all so friendly and welcoming. Definitely will stay here again!!

The room looked exactly as pictured. Check in was easy as well. When I arrived they were having their A/C system worked on. I appreciate the person checking me in making me aware of that before I paid. All in all my room stayed cool the entire night and the A/C system kicked back on overnight. The bed was really comfortable. Everything around the hotel is industrial but it was still quiet.
