Leonardo Hotel London Watford

The location of this hotel is great, but the rooms lack fridges. Parking is not free & is also not available on site making it tricky to transport luggage etc. staff are great and the reception area is welcoming

Nice welcome on arrival, quick and easy check-in . The hotel has a decent bar and restaurant and is located in city surrounded by different bars and restaurants. Overall a comfortable stay.

I've stayed in this hotel before on a previous trip to Wembley. Close to Watford centre and easy transport links to London and Wembley. The hotel doesn't have a car park but only 5 minutes walk is a car park so not a bother and only £8 for 48hrs. Would stay again if visiting the area.

Ideally located to walk to Watford junction. Town centre, near main high street. Parking for £4 a day in car park 150m away, if you pay in the reception. Great base for trips into london.

What let’s this down.. is not advertising more that you have to park in a carpark, not on site.. the recording on Option 4 when you ring them sounds like they’re saying WD17. 2PF, I listen to loads of times then spoke to receptionist and she told me he was WD17 2PS.. but the staff are amazing Askwin (think how spell his name, in the restaurant looks after you like you’re his best friend he can’t do enough for you. Anything you seem to want is never too much trouble. He is friendly and very polite and so helpful… Matthew in Bar and restaurant is very friendly and helpful and again can’t do enough to help you.. these two see to everyone and needs and the rest of the staff are friendly but these two seem to go the extra mile..

We were gifted a Harry Potter experience including a night stay at this hotel. This hotel was chosen due to it saying on the WB Studio tour website that it had free parking - this wasn't the case when I called the hotel to confirm, however they did validate parking at a nearby car park, meaning we paid £8 for the two night stay which isn't too bad. Every member of staff we dealt with during our stay were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, a few suspicious stains on the floor, and the pillows were far too firm, both my partner and I had terrible neck ache in the morning. The breakfast was by far the best part about the stay, There were more options than I have ever seen on a breakfast buffet in a hotel, and it was being topped up constantly! Walking distance to town centre (although I wouldn't advise walking through the town at night alone... terrifying!) and walking distance to the train station. Overall, the stay was fine, breakfast was brilliant, just could do with some softer pillows (there were two per person, one could have been a softer alternative rather than two bricks). Staff cannot be faulted, all amazing!

Lovely hotel. Helpful and friendly staff, especially the front desk lady who checked us in. Breakfast was very good. Room comfortable and clean.

Second stay at Leonardo in Watford. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are nice and bed is very comfortable. Good black out curtains and double glazing making it very quiet and dark. Will definitely stay again

The hotel was in a very good location , couple of minute walk from town center , had food. Drinks bars ect. Construction going on literally next door to the hotel but could not hear a thing inside . Price was very good for the quality. Will 100% stay again We were put in a disabled room(not that this was a problem, it had rails. Heightened toilet ect) we justvwere not told. Only drawback there were a few black head hairs in the shower (not from us) bur everything else was extremely clean

Our room was nice, comfortable and very clean but the bathroom was mouldy and had an old-school shower curtain. Some staff were lovely but many couldn't really be bothered. Service in the bar and restaurant was extremely patchy. Smiles obviously must have been an additional extra. Food was average, never got quite what we ordered, missing dips and garnishes. It was ok but i would have expected a bit better for the price. I would stay here again if there was nothing else available in the area.

Stayed 2days for the harry potter tour and the hotel was perfect for it. Close to trains buses and a big shopping centre just opposite hotel which has everything. Hotel is spotless .. staff friendly .. rooms clean and big. Breakfast was lovely aswell. Cant recommend this hotel enough. Definitely stay again.

Hotel in general was ok good location to town centre but room was not very clean bed sheet had stains on and hot water in bathroom tap was not working

The hotel is very convenient for the railway station and in the opposite direction the centre. We were on the curved side of the hotel ( ring rd side) and the window didn’t seal correctly so we had a touch of traffic noise! Perhaps next time we will ask for the Clarendon rd side. This was a minor point as everything else was spot on. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was excellent. We will stay here again.

Great stay, close to overground which was perfect for a concert we were going to at Wembley. Parking was easy. Bedroom basic but that was all we needed for 1 night! Would stay again if ever back for another concert!

Nice modern hotel with good sized rooms and bathroom. Convenient location, close to business areas, station and town centre. Staff were all v helpful and friendly. Only gripe was that the air conditioning in the rooms was ineffective.

Air con not working. No maintenance personnel on site to fix it. No alternative room offered only a fan. No discount or refund offered. I booked this hotel specifically as it had air con so was very disappointed.

The air conditioner worked strangely - it was unclear whether it could be set manually. The room overall was clean.

This is a wonderful hotel with amazing staff. The only comment that I have is that the air conditioning stopped in the middle of the night that it was very warm on those days with 30c.

Would have been perfect but there was too much noise. You can hear the doors close but it was really loud, the sound was like when you slam the door hard. Plenty of this throughout the night and early hours of the morning. Moreover, you can hear the other guest when they are talking as they pass the corridor. Hence, we didn’t sleep well. The other Leonardo Hotels we stayed-Tower Bridge & St Pauls, were quiet and peaceful.

I was very pleased with our stay, but would have preferred 3 single beds, the children had to share a bed. The rooms thermostat was rubbish, it was either too cold and noisy with it on or too warm. Although the rooms were sound proofed so you couldn’t hear your neighbors the noise coming in the windows indicated that they needed replacing.

Regularly stay at this hotel however think twice now moving forward. So I booked a double room. When we arrived the lady at check in mentioned the beds lower than normal bed. However they have an upgrade option for different room at an additional cost. With being not to fussed about a lower bed we declined the offer to pay extra. However upon entering the room it was quickly apparent that the room we had been assigned to was for disabled wheelchair access with the bathroom being a wet room rather than a traditional shower and or bath. It was not just the bed that was lower every aspect and feature was. My distain is not just about the room it’s the cheekiness of the offer to pay for an upgrade. Hotels should be honest about the rooms available at time of booking. Hotels should not be giving disabled suitable rooms away to those that do not require them and to have the nerve to clearly admit they have other room if you want to pay.

5-Star Stay at Leonardo Hotel Watford! I recently stayed at the Leonardo Hotel in Watford and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. A special shoutout to Allen at reception, who was incredibly helpful, professional, and made check-in seamless. He answered all my questions with a smile and ensured I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. At the bar, Belle and Ashwin were absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, attentive, and made the bar feel like a relaxed, welcoming place to unwind after a long day. Their service was top-notch, and their warm personalities really stood out. Overall, a great stay made even better by the amazing team. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in Watford!

The night staff is very friendly, but the morning staff is upset. The morning receptionist keeps threatening for an overcharge if we’ll be overstaying for 10 mins.

Sadly only one person on the desk so long queue. Did not tell me to put my car reg in the iPad......... overall hotel very clean and pleasant stay and near all amenities.

Don’t trust their online review and listing.They should check into their listing description of each room properly especially with the picture. It was entirely misleading to guest like me who booked a standard double room with a bathtub picture in the booking (didn’t request for accessibility room) was given the accessibility room (with shower). I politely asked the receptionist whether they have a regular standard room (mind you accessible room design everything low so it was hard for us to use) and they straight out said they’re fully booked. Then they go on to explain they have other standard double room but it was all accessible rooms and the rest are fully booked. I went on their website and saw that they still have other rooms available. I have to confront them the second time about them having other room available, why can’t they swap it. The reception went silent after I confronted them but after a few search they managed to swap the room for me but with additional charge. I asked them my booking did not tell me or specify me anything about all the room are accessible and the picture is completely false. To which they replied, it was not their fault, they did not advertise that picture. Long story short, i got into a different room that i have to pay extra, the carpet was oily, the soft closing of the door was broken making loud bang which you could also hear from other rooms, the condition of the room was very run down. You can find better hotel in similar price.

Waited 25 minutes to check in, only 1 person working. I enquired why she was on her own and replied that the manager was so busy as well. There was no smile, no apology for the wait. This poor experience set the tone for your 1st nights stay - I wonder what has a higher priority than creating a good 1st experience for new guests?

Hotel itself was very nice, however construction work happening in the neighbouring buildings which disturbed our quiet mornings. Staff seemed to be in short supply and were quite unhelpful when it came to dinner service on our first night. They had assumed we were waiting for the buffet and told us to wait, rather than asking if we were ordering off the menu. Once we had ordered, there was over a 45 minute wait for our food to arrive. We had taken our remaining food back to our hotel room to finish off, and had placed the "please clean ny room" sign on our door whilst we were out the next day. Upon our return, the beds had been made but the leftover food and our empty glasses had been ignored. Other than the disappointing dinner service, and the room clean, our stay was overall quite nice.

Great hotel very clean, comfortable beds great breakfast and location. We were visiting Harry Potter world and Wimbledon was a 10 minute walk to rail station and the trains to London were many and often .

I have stayed at the hotel many times under this and previous ownership. I like the central location and walking distance from Watford Junction (15 minutes train journey to London Euston.

Location close to rail access to central London. Very comfortable stay, room was spacious, clean and quiet. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Restaurant offered nice range of meals and food was very nice.

Lovely and quiet! Staff have helpful tips about things to do in London. Only a 10 minute walk to the station (the street from the station to the hotel is quite dark though - didn’t feel comfortable walking it alone at night)

Leonardo is always a good choice. The beds are so comfortable, rooms clean and staff always polite.Only downside was that the room wasn't ready when we arrived. But we got to store the bags as we had to leave for Universal studios before our check in time started. Great breakfast although no pancaces or waffles.

Outstanding breakfast with delicious cappuccinos and coffees. Staff are very friendly and selection of wines and bistro foods very good- central location a plus- easy access to all the sights in London.

Love this hotel and it’s location. We booked a Superior King but were kindly upgraded to an Executive room upon check in. Bed was very comfortable and spacious. Very much appreciated the complimentary water in reception and were pleased to make the most of a drinks voucher when we returned from Harry Potter Studios, that coffee was delicious. While the breakfast choice is superb, the temperature of the food was luke warm, even the latte out of the machine was on the cooler side, which was a bit odd. Heading down at 9:15 on a Monday morning, I appreciate there wasn’t as many patrons as there would be on a weekend, so fresh food replenishment was not really needed.

Good hotel, close to Watford Junction (with easy access to the Warner Brothers Studios/Harry Potter shuttle bus, and public transportation to/from downtown London and to/from Heathrow). A nice traditional English breakfast (extra fee required) in buffet style as well. Highly recommend.

The hotel building is nice, however our experience wasnt great- very cold room, where heating didn't work, we were moved but that was an inconvenience. In the evening, we went down to have a drink and some food and were told the wait was 40 mins, thats a long time but we thought we'd wait, we went up about 20-30 mins later to book the table and the lady said we could sit down but then dissapeared to the bar. We ended up just getting food elsewhere. At this time other guest were complaining about food wait times as well. I just think they were very short staffed which doesnt provide a great experience to guests.
