Residence Inn by Marriott Amelia Island

The property is going through a renovation to the open area/dining area. The renovation prevents internal walking between the checking area/front desk to the rooms without walking outside. Not really an issue since we really didn’t need the front desk. The renovations should be completed soon (2024). The complementary breakfast is served without too much of an impact. It’s a little tighter but works. Booking through Expedia or third parties prevents points counting towards the Marriott BON-VoY app. The beach is a short and direct walk along a sidewalk. Parking at the beach was limited in the parking lot but 4WD and AWD vehicles are allowed parking on the beach. Not sure if permitting is required. There is a green space walking path from the parking lot. A very nice walk. There are no balconies. This is the only short coming. It would be nice to dry beach wear and towels off a balcony. The staff is outstanding. We look forward to returning.

Our stay was pretty great! The breakfast was wonderful with lots of options. They had outdoor games and a pool and hot tub along with a fitness room. When we checked in they gave us fresh baked cookies. They also had coffee and water on site for throughout the day. The staff was so very helpful and friendly! They also offered a shuttle for the area. The room had plenty of space for our big family. Overall it was a nice place to stay and we would definitely go back! As a plus the beach was only a block away!

Best Residence Inn anywhere. Breakfast is awesome. Zack and the others are awesome. The suites have great kitchens. The pool area has a huge table area with three gas grills. Walk to Sliders are other areas bars\restaurants. Shuttle will take you all over the island. Whirlpool\Hot tub is huge and towels in a outside chest.

The place is immaculate. Staff is great. Breakfast is awesome. Hayden, Crew, Micha. Tan, Kendall, and especially Zack. We used the grills alot. Shuttle takes you anywhere on the Island. Pool with towel box. Hot tub/whirlpool is great. Plenty of space on the deck. We stayed about 25 days in all.

Very close to the main beach access. The hotel is currently under renovations so that was a bit tricky to navigate but we managed alright. The pool area could use attention to weeds growing all over which makes it look neglected. The pool was slightly cloudy and sandy. The handicap chair was rusted … which looked unsightly. Also we thought there would be an ice cream bar as shown in the photos but it never appeared. They said they would have cookies but only had them one day which was disappointing for the kids. Most of staff very friendly except one lady at front desk seemed to be very overwhelmed and didn’t have much customer service skills. The One day they had the cookies they were behind the desk. We waited for 15 minutes for her to be done checking someone in and then still she did not give out the cookies.

I was here for a week with co-workers for a conference in the area. We have all raved about how fabulous our stay was at this hotel. The hotel is clean, convenient to the beach and many restaurants; it has excellent amenities including a great pool, hot tub, wonderful outdoor space with a patio, complete outdoor kitchen, 3-hole putt-putt golf, lots of board games in the lobby, and nice laundry facilities; there is a wonderful breakfast and the kitchen and dining staff are awesome (special shout-out to Micheal and Zach who work hard to keep the dining room clean and are so pleasant); we also appreciated and utilized the free shuttle--it takes you all over the island, whereever you need to go at your request--what other hotel does that? Huge thanks to the shuttle driver, Drake, who went above and beyond to make sure we got to-and-from our conference at all hours--amazing customer service! The best thing about this hotel is its staff--from Makayla at the front desk to Chris the engineer--seriously, we needed to get to a conference early one morning before the free shuttle officially started running and the gentleman at the desk said someone would get us there and Chris the engineer hoped behind the wheel of the shuttle with a smile on his face and did it! Chris told us on the drive that the hotel manager focuses on finding employees who are friendly and customer service oriented, and teaches them to always see things from the perspective of a guest--it is apparent! Kudos!

Room was comfortable, hotel had a lot of amenities such as the BBQ grills outside, a fire pit, outdoor tv, workout room, plus the pool and hot tub. The continental breakfast had a lot of variety of foods to choose from. Looking forward to coming back and staying in the renovated rooms.

Our room was very clean. However, the air conditioning vent was blowing in our face in bed. The unit was very noisy as well. This made getting a good nights sleep very difficult. The pool was ok but could have been cleaner. On a positive note, the morning breakfast was very good.

The initial impression upon entry was exceptional. We made it to the room, and the room was inviting. Upon further investigating, the room could really use a deep clean. There was hair in the tub. Underneath the toilet seat you could see chemical residue. The bathroommirror was not free of streaks. The room was very dusty and in need of major updating. The bedroom smelled like feet or wet dog. I have been in worse rooms, for sure. But for the price point, I expected more luxury and cleanliness.

Really great space, clean hotel, lobby has activities while you wait and a mini ice cream bar. The only disappointment was the room quality just sub-par for the amount of money. Plenty of space, but the carpet and bathroom are in need of replacement. Horribly discolored bath tub, and heavy rust build up on toilet left much to be desired.

This was our 2nd stay and we were very pleased. Pleasant staff, decent breakfast, clean rooms, comfortable beds. One of our favorite things is when the hotel puts out ice cream for the guests, they also have games for entertaining, free coffee and tea. I saw the hotel will be making some renovations soon and we look forward to seeing them on our next visit.

Property was great, awesome breakfast included, great location, amazing staff, unfortunately we found hair on the bathroom floor and shower drain was clogged (we ended up cleaning).

Property in need of new mattress, ours was worn and sagging, and the plumbing made loud gurgling noises from the sink waking us up overnight. Also the coffemaker had parts missing and was nonfunctional. The cooking implements are very old and worn and need to be replaced.

We loved our stay at this hotel and I am glad we booked it for the week. Reception staff is super friendly and helpful. The suite was large and comfortable. Amenities in the hotel are great. A nice big pool, a working spa and gym. We already planning our next stay there. The only thing I was not happy about is the cleaning of the room especially when you stay a week like we did. We were told that the room is cleaned every second day but they only came one time in 7 days and we had to call reception to schedule it. They just dont show up and leave you with trash and old used towels. When you call reception they will fix it but it should be automatically cleaned when you stay more than 2 nights. Room was clean after they came and when we arrived.

The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Having the shuttle was so convenient, as parking was limited downtown. The staff really could not have been nicer or more helpful.

The hotel overall was nice. Highlights were the lobby area and location. The room needed updating but the reason it received a 3 was because of the AC in the rooms. We were with a large party and all the rooms were the same. Never was cool enough and extremely humid. I was told the units go back to 73 if it it does not sense movement. 73 is usually very cold to me but it was actually hot. Since we don’t get up at night the unit doesn’t sense movement and it went higher than what I put it on. Waking up in a sweat. When it is more humid inside the room than outside in Florida something is wrong.

My husband and I had our first stay at the Residence Inn, and we found it to be an excellent experience. The staff provided outstanding service, the room was comfortable and well-appointed, the breakfast selection was impressive, and the location was convenient. Based on our positive experience, we plan to return in the future.

The room is one of the better ones among hotels this price- good size, nice living room/kitchen, and separated bathroom/sinks. More homelike than other hotel rooms. One of the mornings, breakfast was outstanding (bacon, potatoes, egg omlets) along with waffles. Overall, everything was a moderate cut above other 3/4 star hotels. And the shuttle was very helpful. Closeness to the beach didn’t hurt either. Very satisfied.

We LOVED this hotel! From the super fast check in to the fast check out. We loved the friendly staff- especially Dawn at night who was just absolutely lovely. The people that ran the breakfast were all amazing! The patio area with the fire pit was a great place to relax at night. It was also in a great location. Would highly recommend this place and would return for sure!

Had a wonderful stay! The only thing I wish they would clean the room and refill things daily, especially towels. We pay a lot of money to stay there so it would be nice to have fresh towels and a clean room daily. Also the coffee tastes like city water but the breakfast was decent.The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I'd stay there again!

This was our first time visiting Amelia Islands and we had the most AMAZING time! A huge thank you to LaTanya and Aaron - they both executed customer service flawlessly! The breakfast offered a varierty of food options and the complimentary shuttle around the island was an added bonus! We will definitely choose Residence Inn on our return visit.

Nice hotel that’s not far from the beach!

Front desk staff was very nice and helpful, room is great, location a short walk to the beach, restaurants abound. A shuttle bus is available to take you anywhere you want to go on the island. A broken iron was replaced upon request. Very quiet within the hotel. Price was reasonable for high season. All in all an enjoyable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which is within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and an ice cream shop. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The breakfast offered a nice variety and was quite delicious. Although some amenities could use an update, the overall experience was fantastic. We highly recommend this hotel!

The staff make you feel at home with the best included breakfast we've ever experienced! The beach is just a short walk away and their are great hiking trails starting right behind the hotel that cover a large area with birds, turtles, alligators, and other wildlife. Grocery stores are very close.

I like that Egan's Creek Greenway Trail is accessible from the parking lot.

First and foremost we liked the people. Secondly, but equally as important, we liked the facility. The property was located near the beach and numerous great restaurants. It was also centrally located for shopping and site seeing.

The property was clean and comfortable. I would have preferred being closer to the historic district but this was my first time on Amelia Island.

Everything was top notch. The breakfasts were excellent and all of the employees were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Fernandina Beach.
