The Sibson Inn Hotel

The Sibson Inn hotel is a fantastic place to visit and stay, rooms really comfortable and clean. Food is fantastic and tasty, only downside is it is next to busy A1 road so sitting in beer garden can be noisy.

I always check what time food is served til as travel early evening when work day is ended - website states 8:30 - but when arrived after a 3.5 hour drive just before 8 they had already shut the restaurant and bar…,

One night buisness stop over. All comments are relative to proce paid... it is a very affordable stopover on the A1 not far from Peterborough - although access is a little bit tiresome if approaching from the north as you have to pass the hotel and then return on the north bound carriageway. In my opinion, attempting a u-turn as indicated by sat-nav is foolish and outright dangerous so continue to the next proper junction and survive! The hotel is a pub with rooms in converted buildings around the courtyard. Being on the side of the A1 some noise is inevitable so if that will be an issue ring ahead and see if a ground floor room behind the pub is available as they will be the quietest, although i doubt even they are totally quiet. Room 20, upstairs and away from the road had some noise but wasnt intolerably. The bathroom is functional but tired. I'm never a fan of shower curtain over bath - all was clean but they have a habit of grabbing, dont they! Dinner... classic english pub menu and all looked fine and the pie was filling. Restaurant had a mix of families, businessmen (yes, they were all men) and friends dining. Breakfast... cooked to order. Cereal and tradiotanl english options available. Overall, perfectly good in all aspects for the price paid. If in area again i would consider stopping again.

Great super dog friendly

I stayed here on my way south and I needed a hotel with a large car park and off the A1. Great service and friendly staff. Not the most luxurious, but great value. Home cooked food, hot shower and a comfy bed made an enjoyable stay!

We arrived early and had a drink and then dinner at 7, which was fortunate since the kitchen closed at 8. The pub started closing up at 9, so the times were not what we expected. Also early breakfast and check-out times. But friendly service and good food!

Really nice period Inn with great staff and good honest meals. This IS a historic Inn so do not expect modern amenities. The parking is great and we really enjoyed our stay. Do yourself a favour and ignore the generic motels when next travelling in this area.

The hotel was booked as close quarters to Sibson Airfield. The check in, staff, food were all excellent. The issue I have is the great big LED lights that come on during dark hours that illuminate RM11 like it was Xmas. Either put curtains up by the door window, change the door to a solid door or change the settings of the lights in the courtyard to motion only. I had to move the cupboard across the door to get some semblance of sleep. Other than this everything was great.

Rooms are on ground floor in a little court yard. They are roomy with good size bathroom. Clean and decorated beautifully.had seating outside each rom. The bar area was comfy. Restaurant meals were lovely and the staff were lovely and couldnt do enough for you. Would definitely stay again

Nice room, in the courtyard (superior double), spacious and modern bathroom. Only downfall was the door to the room had a window in it with no curtain or blind. Bright festoon lights were on all night and shone right in the room. We had to try and stick something over the window but it meant we didn’t sleep well

dirty beds, including hairs and suspicious stains. dirty underwear found in room 19, we had a late check-in for one of our guests but there was none to check in. overall, I would not recommend.

The inn is located right next to a busy A road so I was worried that it may be noise inside from the sound of the traffic, but once in our room we could not hear anything. The cleanliness of the inn was fine, there were the odd bits of dust on the light fittings but nothing to really complain about. The carpet on the stairs to the rooms could do with a freshen up but that’s the only negative I can really give.

The wifi was hit and miss but good enough for general use. However the welcome was friendly, food in bar very nice and good portion size and i slept well but could do with looking at the details

Cold shower as the thermostat was broken on the room. Room was grubby staff were slow when they were there and quite unhelpful paid for breakfast got there before the end of their times they gave was nothing left. I stay in hotels 4 nights a week do yourself a favour book somewhere else it was not worth the money

Room was basic which was ok for one night. Beds were hard and only had one pillow and no spares. Black mold on ceiling over bath/shower. Bread in box on breakfast table was moldy and when mentioned the person didn’t clean the box before putting fresh bread in it.

The rooms weren't as clean as they could have been and there was no hot water in the morninv for a shower. The restaurant however was nice and the food abolutely lovely. X

The Hotel is good, very good value for money. The staff were also great. Food very good. On our trip just let let with a bit of bad housekeeping. The duvet on our bed was badly stained, too late to change it as we arrived late, ate then had a few things in reception before going to our room. Reception next day couldn’t understand how housekeeping missed it , but they obviously did ! Without the stained duvet marks would have been higher, but it was quite bad & should not have been missed !

The staff were welcoming, very helpful & friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and looked like it had recently been refurbished. We had everything we needed & even some shortbread with our tea tray, a lovely extra touch! We ate in the bar & again both the food & service were excellent. I cannot rate our stay highly enough & we are looking forward to returning next year & using it as our base for Burghley Horse Trials. Thank you 😊

It was ok for one night. Mattress was lumpy. Not enough staff for the pub.

Great staff but needs some TLC as its over priced in my opinion and the food is ok but not the best. Had the steak pie. Felt like pie night was left over slices of beef put in a pie. Small portions too! Room as clean but the mattress needs renewing as i just sack into it, like the springs had collapsed. Its a £60 a night hotel not the £89 i paid.

It is a lovely property but we did find the bedroom very cold. The heating doesn't come on until 9am at the weekend and we were due to have breakfast at that time. Consequently we had a very chilly wash and shower. .

The hotel knew they had a lot of guessed staying the night before as they had a wedding the next day but only had 2 members of staff serving food and drink and only one chef on. we had booked a table beforehand because we were half board but we still ending up waiting over 45 minutes after ordering to get our dinner . Can’t fault the staff on the night they kept calm and did well .

I’ve stayed here before and it’s a nice building but a little tired. Our main issue was when we got there at 9.30pm after working all day the hot water or shower didn’t work.We tried calling the number but nobody answered and no one was at reception next morning. I sent a message but had no reply. Not great service

Very nice old Inn with very welcoming staff. Good room and queit as at the back of the courtyard overlooking fields. Really nice meal, very well cooked and presented generous proportion,accompanied by an excellent ale to wash it down. We'll definitely be staying again. Our only critisism was having the radio playing in the bar and eating area. It would be much less distracting and a more relaxed atmosphere if it was just music playing. Many thanks, Terry.

Very pleasant stay the staff were very good friendly . They treated me with respect and caring. Had dinner at night very tasty and very good portions . I am afraid it beat me I will ask for smaller when I stay again . For a solo visit I felt very safe and everyone was just joining in . Which was nice . Very nice eating and bar area . Breakfast was plentiful. Very good scrambled eggs. Good choice . My room was in the court yard which helpful as I had my dog with me so if he needed out I it was easy to put coat on a get outside . Room was comfy warm nice bathroom everything was at hand . Only thing the TV could be a little bit bigger but that’s just me being fussy . So I will definitely have another stay there when I get a chance .

The staff were welcoming, very helpful & friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and looked like it had recently been refurbished. We had everything we needed & even some shortbread with our tea tray, a lovely extra touch! We ate in the bar & again both the food & service were excellent. I cannot rate our stay highly enough & we are looking forward to returning next year & using it as our base for Burghley Horse Trials. Thank you 😊

We stayed for one night to break a longer journey North. This is a nice hotel, comfortable and reasonably priced with friendly and helpful staff. When we thought we would reach the hotel just at kitchen closing time they were happy to take our order for dinner by phone in anticipation of our arrival.

Lovely historic building. Had a very comfortable stay. I wish they had something between the motorway and the buildings. Thankfully i couldnt hear anything inside. The walls are very thick like a castle.

Stayed here while visiting Burghley.. perfect for myself and daughter… good food.. ideal!! Would definitely stay again!

Handy stop over hotel between London and the North.

Comfortable room in quiet cozy pub

Convienently located on the north bound side of the A1. An interesting stone building with rooms around a courtyard and in a row of converted cottages / barns. The room condition was a little tired but functional. Restaurant menue was limited but the food hot and tasty. Breakfast was buffet style English with quality ingredients but limited choice. Staff were professional and welcoming. Location is yards from the busy A1 however the rooms at the rear are surprisingly quite.

1st visit but won’t be the last. Great staff only complaint, no draught beers. Good, honest, food, breakfast was well presented and hot.

Despite a slight staffing issue which was successfully resolved this was a great stay…. Comfortable; friendly; good food and a wonderful rural view out of the bedroom windows which contributed to the sense of peace about the place….despite being so close to the A1.

Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Poorly organised and very little on offer. No plates and all that was on offer were some undercooked sausages and a bowl of mushroom in water
