This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel in fabulous surroundings. The room was clean and comfortable. Probably the best bed we slept in all holiday. Staff were lovely and very helpful. We got there on a Sunday and my husband enjoyed the cricket on the pitch opposite the hotel. Food was great. Lovely post dinner walk to the old hall. All in all it was brilliant. We were planning a return visit even before we left.

This is a beautiful hotel with a lovely pub next door and we were lucky enough to stay on the 1st Wednesday of the month which is curry night at the pub. a room upgrade on arrival was also very welcome. The rooms were the perfect size, lovely facilities and it was nice to sit out by the river with a beer in hand and go for a walk along the river.

Stayed 1 night

Arrived at the hotel around 9 o’clock and was told there was no food available the kitchen was closed. So I had to travel to a nearby restaurant pub to get some food and then returned back to the hotel around 11 o’clock and couldn’t find anyone to check in. I was calling reception whilst Dean reception and the phone kept dialling out. I finally found someone who could book me into my room, but it turns out I then had to walk over to completely different hotel to collect my key. The room was very dated and didn’t smell great. I woke up the next morning to use the amenities and was told but if I wanted to use the pool and spa, I would need to book in for a treatment. I don’t think this should be advertised or it should be made abundantly clear that this is an extra when booking. Not a great experience, not great value for money when everything is extra, would not stay again.
