No elevators, not good

The place is fine, nothing fancy. There’s an indoor pool area that is a huge draw for families with children. There is no one on duty in this area and thinking parents will police their children is naive. Kids are running around, jumping off the rocks into too shallow water and are hopping in and out of the jacuzzi with no parental supervision. The bed was very comfortable. The walls/ceilings are very thin and you can hear way too much! We heard the people below us talking and the children above us were running around, banging things both late at night and early in the morning. Ugh.

We wanted a pool and a hot tub with access to the bar. The bar was closed and the upper pool was packed with kids. The southern pool was private but doesn’t have a poolside bar. The hot tubs were great. Dinner was average. The buffet was barely better than a free breakfast at a highway motel. We went for a resort feel. We got understaffed facilities.

So quiet and the amenities are top notch!

Good choice for smaller families up West rooms, waterpark. Older East views more appropriate for teens, 2 hot tubs and less kids at pool. Overall dated exterior, clean, comfortable accommodations, dusting needed on light fixtures. Noise levels between rooms noticeable. Views spectacular, overall relaxing weekend.

This is a great property with many amenities and beautiful Mountain View’s. We have stayed here many times. The most recent time there was an issue and the water had to be shut off for some hours throughout the night. They ended up refunded us for that night which I thought was generous.

If you are a couple looking for some relaxing time, this is not the property for you. This is very much a family focused property with unsupervised children everywhere. It seems like the property is generally understaffed and it affects the quality of the stay. The indoor poor really should have an attendant just to keep things tidy and managed the children. The slide in the indoor pool is unsupervised, and I personally witnessed several children who should not have been on the slide in the first place get injured as well as one adult take a rather severe hit to the head because they were improperly using the slide. We had a room in the older portion of the property and it desperately needs some updates. The only source of heat or cooling is in the kitchen / living room so the bedroom temperature is unregulated. The room was never serviced while we stayed there but there was an envelope for someone to tip the housekeeper. For what exactly? We went to the restaurant the first say we arrived and were told we would have to wait for a table despite there being at least a dozen empty tables.... so we went to the bar and a single bartender was trying to fill dining room orders and then take orders for the 3 tables he had in the bar. We waited 45 minutes for the food once we managed to order it and it was terrible. We ate all meals off property after that..

With the pool being the central/focal point of the resort we couldn’t believe how neglected the area was. There was trash in and around the pool, when tables would open up people would leave their towels and trash. Also lots of parents not watching their kids so a lot of rules being broken, kids in the hot tubs, kids climbing up the kiddie slide, jumping off the rocks into the kiddie pool. I understand the no life guard but they really should have one staff member designated to the pool area cleaning up and enforcing rules. The locker rooms where also very dirty.

The floors were sticky. It was very rustic and not a luxury hotel at all. Exposed pipes in bathroom and main room. Paper thin walls with a lot of families going there. Cracks in the sink. With quite expensive nightly rate. Not worth it at all. I have pictures to prove it.

For the amount of money i paid for one night i was not happy. I ran my daughter a bath because the room was supposed to come with a jet tub, that did not work at all. And the tub was dirty. When i put a white wash cloth in the water, it stained the cloth orange. Amenities were good, but that's all

Mold in my bathroom , dirty kitchen items with food build up. Green mold build up in pool Areas .huge crack in a window pain , water was coming in while raining outside Ceiling leaks in both pool areas . Was rained on one night. Crack in bathtub, rusty shower rods . No breakfast options at the restaurant as it doesn’t open until 1130. Check in and out times 4pm and 10 am we had one full day at the hotel and paid for 2 nights 3 days

We checked into a room on the forth of July weekend the room had soda dried to the wall . I called the front desk told them and they said “ we will send someone right over to clean it “ me and the wife said ok let’s go get breakfast and let them clean we come back 2 hours later room was “picked up “ new linens & the soda still dried to the wall SMH !!! Other than a few small things the grounds are very nice the pools are very nice service wasn’t great but manageable

There was some corrosion on the ceiling. It was not the cleanest unit. There are already a ton of stairs, which caused a problem because my son was in a boot due to a sprain. I feel there’s better options when I give this overall a three star

We stayed in room 108B. The white blanket had black scuff marks on top of the bed. There were thick layers of dust around the edge of the entire rooms. The rest was passable. The restaurant had good service and good food. We enjoyed the indoor pool areas. The Mountain view’s are beautiful. We had stayed there around 16 years ago and not much has changed. It appears to be in need of some updating and upgrades. Would not recommend unless there’s no other places available. That was with our case.

Room had many issues and not very clean

We stay in the south room for our stay. Room was outdated. The carpet had stains all over. Our room bathroom when entered had a lot of hair on the floor like it haven’t been swept from last use. And the worse for us was after showering the night and about to use our towel, my towel had what looked like dry blood on it and my girlfriend’s had dirty spots all over. Our first couple hours there I was already ready to leave. We did visit the pool areas which was absolutely nice and staff was great. But after the room dirtiness I highly doubt that I will be staying there again.

We stayed at this resort for 2 nights with my family. The only good thing about this place is the location and the beautiful view. Unfortunately, everything else was very disappointing. I had visited back in 2015, and after 10 years, nothing has changed — the hotel is still very old and outdated. The furniture and beds are worn out; the beds literally sink when you lie down. There’s a damp smell in the rooms, and the TV is extremely small. There is only one restaurant, and the food is not good at all. Breakfast was supposed to be a buffet, but there were barely any options, and nothing was labeled — you don’t even know what you’re eating. For two nights we paid $1377, which is absolutely not worth it. The only thing we enjoyed was the view and the pool, but the fact that they haven’t renovated or improved anything in the past 10 years is really disappointing.

The room was somewhat dated but was fairly nice and clean. The rug could use replacing. The kitchen was well equipped. Our section had a standard indoor pool and spa, but the units further up the hill have the beautiful indoor pool and spa that is shown in the pictures. The view was outrageous and for that reason alone, Steele Hill is outstanding.

The views are stunning and the recreation offerings are amazing. We went on a walk on the trails and it was beautiful. We were staying in a studio. The kitchen was well stocked and the patio area was great. The furniture is dated and neither the Murphy bed nor the sofa bed was especially comfortable. There is no house keeping and they only supply one small shampoo, body wash which is not replenished. I think if you are charging the prices they charge, that’s not the service most guests would expect. Finally, I really disliked the calls by the time share sales people which occurred daily even though I expressed no interest.

I loved the view of the mountains and lake, but was disappointed that we were on the lower level which required a lot of stairs carrying luggage and some food. There were 4 people above us so the floor was constantly freaking and loud footsteps plus heard water running a lot. Liked that there was a restaurant.

Room was extremely outdated

We stayed in a room not a suite with king bed. The room was ample in size with very large whirlpool tub, sm fridge. Bed comfort - 3 out of 5. (rating given with cost of room as consideration. It would benefit from a mattress topper. Noise level. 3-5. Air conditioner was very noisy and we had to shut it off. No noise from neighbors or parking lot. Golf course - 0 out of 5. We brought our clubs, but did not finish 9 holes. No real fairways, just mowed lawn, very hilly so much so could not get level place to drive. It's free, but not fun. Pools 1) Outside too small for laps, but nice for hanging out, but cold. 2) Inside warm and super fun for kids. Drinks are $15, but there is no pricing on menu. Music in the evening makes for a relaxing time. Restaurant was satisfactory. You can get pizza or hamburgers for under $20 and steak was very delicious. A bit pricy for families, we saw mostly couples eating there. Location. It is not close to food or drink so bring coolers with your chosen beverages (even water), snacks and food. There are grills available. We visit family once a year and will look for another location next year.

Room was very outdated and basis nothing special about it. We were given a handicap unit shower with a jacuzzi that was just about broken. Small tv to the corner not centered with the bed or access to jacuzzi viewing. The refrigerator so small size of the microwave. All amenities in the game room area were not complimentary except for the ping pong and tv video game. Coins were required for fussball table and shuffle air table along with one acarde table.

There’s about a 3 inch gap from the floor to the bottom of the main door in our suite. Balcony has nails sticking up. A/C really only works in the living room area and the bedroom only has heat. Food and pool are great. Was able to check in about 1.5 hours early.

Neighbors were super loud both nites. Called front desk complained they did nothing about it. Spoke about it on checkout apologized but did not seem to care about it otherwise. Will not be staying here again.

Beautiful resort. Clean quiet. the staff is amazing everywhere you go. Friendly, and willing to help or answer questions. Be careful driving there. Pay attention to signs so you don't get lost on unpaved, desolate back roads. South 2 bedroom is lovely. amazing view. Nicely stocked kitchen, comfy beds with clean linen. have to request more towel and supplies as it is skimpy and bring your own toiletries. the soap is like a piece of cardboard and a tiny bit of shampoo. No elevators, so its a pain lugging everything in and out. The pool is quite the pool! Huge, clean, nice changing rooms, staff available. Just crazy with kids and bad behavior. It seems the staff is very liberal with what goes on at the pool. Kids are running wild, jumping off things, screaming, throwing balls, in the hot tub, drinking and eating is allowed also. Can't say enough about the lovely staff. so kind and friendly and a lot of them. The restaurant is very nice. Buffet was great. homemade food. Delicious and service is great. Restaurant is not very big and we could not get in for dinner on a Friday night. The property has everything you could think of for winter fun and it's a wonderful get away for families.

the people who work there at the pool are very rude. I don't like the service of the people who work there. for me and my family it was a very stressful weekend there

The west room suite was perfect for indoor pool access. The hotel is a bit outdated and we did not get hot water. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very nice and helpful. The property has lots to offer including sledding, hiking, and playgrounds for kids.

Steele Hill is absolutely beautiful! My room was clean and comfy and reasonably priced for a resort! I will say check in can be confusing as they said I was staying in the main building. The map only says east building, west building etc. You would think the brightly lit building on the hill would be the main building, but that’s incorrect. A sign outside the buildings would be really helpful, especially for people arriving after dark like I did! Also, the hotel is located on the top of a hill, about 5 miles from the closest town, and only has one restaurant/option for food. My complaint is that I booked the hotel with specific plans to eat at the restaurant for dinner and everything I saw said it would be open- it was not. This isn’t cosmic, but definitely inconvenient when it’s the only thing close by and I’d specifically booked the hotel knowing I was going to have a late day and planning the restaurant around that. Overall the resort was absolutely stunning and the view cannot be beat!! Highly recommend staying here for a lovely getaway!

I had the opportunity to visit some places, but I must confess that this hotel is among the best I’ve stayed at. Very clean and spacious. The service in the kitchen and at the bar was spectacular. A great place for the whole family.

steele hill always exceeds my expectations. close to hwy and attractions, stores and restaurants. has a really good restaurant itself. between the all the ammenities and stocked rooms you just stay put and relax

Upon check in I was checked into a dirty room that was not well taken care of. They then moved me to a dark basement room next to the boiler. I had stayed here a number of times before and had Much nicer rooms.The manager told me it was because I booked with Expedia and that if I wanted a more updated room I could pay double. We chose to stay in the dark room. Some of the staff is kind and helpful. But the property needs some updates. When my child and I went to the pool there were policeman there investigating improper sexual conduct of an adult to a minor, apparently it was a timeshare owner. We had to add an extra day because of a snow storm and we had to move rooms. My car got stuck on the ice of the hill up to the pool because it was not well plowed and salted. We witness this happen to two other cars as well. We went to use the ice skating area and could not because this was also not well cleaned off... this could be a much nicer resort if customer service and more assistance and care became a priority. Many of the staff were kind so I don't like to write a bad review but the overall experience was not good.

The property was nice and the view was great!!

Spacious rooms, nice amenities, friendly staff and great view from the balcony. Noteworthy: The rooms are situated on two hills without a designated walking path connecting the two. If mobility is an issue, guests may wish to stay closer to the amenities that they plan to use most often. The fitness center and large indoor pool are at the top of the hill. The unheated outdoor pool, smaller indoor pool, and restaurant are in the lower section of the resort.

The property was in the middle of nowhere but it was nice, quiet, and tranquil! The playground was nice for the kids. The outside and inside pool and hot tub was great! Food was good and service was great! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful property. Great location, practically a 20 minute drive to anything. Lots of amenities and super clean. Nice for families and singles. Only negative is no pets. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Definitely worth visiting

Didnt like restruant/ pub not open on one night during stay. At least the pub could have been for light fare like sandwiches. And not open for breakfast during tge week again coffee and continental breakfast should be available in pub to get

Restaurant has good food but was close so we have to drive 30 minutes to eat and come back And the hot pool wasn’t clean The service was excellent We will be back 💌

Really liked the amenities. 4 pools, restaurant. Bars, sports, hiking trails ect. Room was nice and clean. No maid service for the 2 nights we were there. Ran out of soap on the morning we left. Price was on the high side especially considering what most weeknights book for. Drinks from the bar seemed to have almost no alcohol in them, which was sad considering they were $15 - $25 each. Lobby was disgustingly hot as in 95 degrees. Lucy the ac in the room worked. No alcohol allowed at the pools unless it was from their overpriced bar. Overall a nice place but I would stear clear from drinks at the bar and plan during the week if possible and save yourself $ hundreds per night.

Rooms were cute and cozy. Everything you need to cook is available. The kids loved the pool and the games. The food at the hilltop was phenomenal.
